UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1970 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T. THIS IS A TRUE JS23N FACTORY PLUM CRAZY PURPLE 383 4 SPEED CAR. IT IS ROUGH BUT RESTORABLE AND WELL WORTH THE BUILD BEING WHAT IT IS. WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICS IS WHAT YOU WILL GET IN THIS AUCTION. THERE IS NO INTERIOR OR DASH, BUT I DO HAVE THE VIN TAG FROM THE ORIGINAL DASH AND CLEAR TITLE. I DO HAVE AN AUTOMATIC STEERING COLUMN THAT WILL GO WITH. THERE IS NO GRILLE, TAIL LIGHTS, OR BUMPERS. IT HAS ALL THE GLASS EXCEPT FOR THE WINDSHIELD. IT HAS AN 8 3/4 REAR. I DO HAVE A 70 DATED 440, E BODY A833 CLOSE RATIO 4 SPEED, E BODY BUCKET SEATS, DOOR PANELS AND REAR PANELS, AND EXTRA DOORS AVAILABLE TO THE BUYER SEPARATELY FROM THE AUCTION. AGAIN, THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS AUCTION AS THEY ARE FROM DIFFERENT CARS AND I COULD USE THEM MYSELF IF THE BUYER WANTS TO SAVE THE MONEY. I ALSO KNOW SOMEONE LOCALLY THAT HAS A DRIVER'S FENDER, FRONT BUMPER AND BRACKETS, AND WIRING HARNESS FROM A 70 AVAILABLE AS WELL. THE CHALLENGER HAS ITS SHARE OF RUST BUT I'VE SEEN WORSE(SEE PICS). SOMEONE CUT A SECTION OUT OF THE FIREWALL AROUND THE COLUMN AND PEDAL AREA. I DON'T KNOW WHY. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT THE UPPER COWL SECTION WAS REPLACED FROM ANOTHER CAR A LONG TIME AGO. THEY DID A NICE JOB AND YOU COULDN'T TELL IF IT WASN'T FOR THE PAINT FLAKING SHOWING THE GREEN. THANKFULLY, ANY SHEET METAL IT NEEDS CAN BE BOUGHT NEW FROM COMPANIES LIKE AMD, GOODMARK, OR SHERMAN. THIS IS A RARE FIND BEING A FACTORY R/T CAR AND THESE CARS BRING HIGH $$$ WHEN RESTORED. I, UNFORTUNATELY, AM OVERWHELMED WITH PROJECT CARS RIGHT NOW AND THIS ONE HAS TO GO AS I JUST DON'T HAVE THE ROOM. A $500 DEPOSIT IS DUE VIA PAYPAL WITHIN 24 HRS. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!

Stellantis reveals STLA Large platform with EV and ICE support
Fri, Jan 19 2024Hot on the heels of a Jeep Wagoneer S teaser and photos of the prototype next-generation Dodge Charger (or Challenger), comes a reveal and details of what will likely underpin both of them: the STLA Large platform. It's one of multiple Stellantis flexible architectures that will be the basis of its upcoming electric cars, and apparently internal combustion ones, too. Stellantis says the STLA Large platform will be for D- and E-segment cars, crossovers and SUVs. In other words, it will be for midsize and large vehicles. For reference, lengths supported will be from 187.6 to 201.8 inches, and width will range from 74.7 to 79.9 inches. It will be highly flexible, too, with Stellantis claiming significant amounts of adjustability in overhangs, wheelbase, suspension placement and powertrain arrangement. The powertrain flexibility is quite impressive. Front-, rear- and all-wheel-drive layouts will be supported. Single- and dual-motor layouts will be on offer. Internal combustion will be available, too, either on its own or as a hybrid. Apparently engines can be fitted either longitudinally or transversely, too. Battery packs with between 85 and 118 kWh of capacity will be offered, with Stellantis claiming that sedan-style vehicles could have a range of up to 500 miles. The packs will also be available in 400- and 800-volt designs. Stellantis noted also that the platform can "easily accept future energy storage technologies when they reach production readiness." This seems to hint that the company is looking at different battery chemistries and maybe even solid-state batteries that could be added more easily in the future. Furthermore, the platform is designed to handle impressive output. Stellantis says that some models on the platform will have 0-to-62 mph times in the 2-second range. Limited-slip differentials for improved power delivery and wheel-end disconnects for reduced mechanical drag are also on the table for this platform. All of these details fit well with the information previously given for the concept Dodge Charger Daytona Banshee and Jeep Wagoneer S. The former was previewed with both battery voltage architectures and a wide range of electric powertrains with between 456 and 670 horsepower depending on specification and upgrades. And that's just for the 400-volt system; the 800-volt option wasn't detailed. We've also seen photos of the Charger chassis seemingly with provisions for gas engines, likely versions of the Hurricane I6.
Some dealers asking $100,000-plus for Daytona-edition Dodge Charger SRT Hellcats
Mon, Dec 30 2019If you thought the name of the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition was a lot to swallow, then you're definitely going to choke on what some dealers are asking for the privilege of owning one. The $4,495 package is commanding as much as $25,000 in "market adjustments" from stores looking to capitalize on the rarity of this extremely limited-edition model. The folks over at Moparinsiders.com reported Friday that some dealers are asking Demon-level prices for their limited allocations of the commemorative package. Their assessment? Not worth it. We're inclined to agree. The Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition package is, fundamentally at least, little more than a set of stickers, a dash plaque and a tiny bump in horsepower. What you really get for your money is exclusivity. Only 501 were built (to commemorate the number of production units required to homologate the original Charger Daytona for NASCAR racing); just 451 went to U.S. dealers. The other 50 were reserved for Canada. To be fair, no variant of the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody even approaches the definition of "inexpensive." Just to get behind the wheel of the newest edition to the Charger lineup will set you back at least $71,000. The Widebody package is more than just a set of custom fenders. The Hellcat also gets another 1.6 inches of track width and some extra rubber on the road. SRT engineers also increased the Hellcat’s front spring rate by 32% and beefed up its sway bars (from 19 mm to 21.7 mm in the front and from 32 mm to 34 mm in the rear). The adaptive suspension was firmed up a little bit across the board too for crisper response over road imperfections. Plus, you know, there's that 707-horsepower, supercharged, 6.2-liter engine. The Daytona gets an extra 10 ponies, right? Well, sort of, anyway. SRT rated its output at a slightly higher engine speed. Between us, it's the same thing. So, there's a silver lining: You don't have to spend $100,000 for a 2020 Charger Widebody Hellcat if you don't want to, but somebody probably will. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Chrysler's Woodward Dream Cruise festivities include Ram concept truck debut
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The streets will be crowded next weekend along Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan for the 19th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise. As part of the run-up to the festivities, Chrysler has announced that all of its brands - Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, SRT and Mopar - will bring along their latest vehicles. Also included will be a collection of classic American cars and various activities for attendees at the official Chrysler location on the corner of Woodward and 13 Mile Road.
Special to this year, Ram brand director Bob Hegbloom and head of design John Dehner will unveil a Ram concept truck on Saturday. Chrysler will also bring Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs fame along to show off a few custom Chrysler-made vehicles of his own. Fans of the brand on Facebook will get the chance to virtually customize a vehicle from the automaker's portfolio, with the winner getting their dream car built for them by Chrysler. Pretty cool stuff, no?
As in past years, Ford and General Motors will have an official presence at the event as well, and you can expect to see plenty of cars of all makes and models from all parts of the globe. The madness starts this Friday, August 16, from 4:30 PM to 10 PM, with the main event taking place on Saturday, from 9 AM to 9 PM.
