THE REASON I BELIEVE THIS TO BE TRUE IS THE FENDER TAG GIVES A BUILD DATE OF 1 / 22 / 1970 AND THE DOOR TAG GIVES THE DATE OF 2 / 1970. ALSO THE ORDER NUMBER K00188 .THE K WOULD INDICATE THE CAR LEFT THE FACTORY FOR ASC FOR THE SUNROOF INSTALLATION.PER THE POST. IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE POST EMAIL ME AND I WII TRY TO SEND THE POST TO YOU.
NOW FOR THE CAR IT IS TYPICAL E-BODY THAT SOME ONE LEFT OUTSIDE TO WEATHER. NEEDS FLOOR PANS TRUNK PANS LOWER QUARTER PANEL REPLACED.THERE IS SOME FILLER IN THE UPPER QUARTER ON THE DRIVER SIDE.THIS CAR IS VERY RESTORABLE AND EXTREMELY RARE. THE FRONT FRAME RAILS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE THE REAR RAILS NEED A PATCH INSTALLED. I HAVE A DONNER  CAR THAT I WILL REMOVE THEM FROM  NO NEED TO REPLACE THEM AS A HOLE.THE HOOD AND FENDERS ARE  GOOD WITH SOME PITTING BUT USABLE.THE FRONT WINDSHIELD POST WILL NEED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED.I KNOW YOU WILL WANT MORE PICTURES BUT EBAY ONLY WILL ALLOW 24. THE POWER WINDOWS ARE IN THE CAR AND STILL RUN THE POWER ROOF MOTOR RUNS BUT I GOT IN A RUSH AND STRIPED A GEAR IN THE MOTOR.THE FUEL TANK IS BAD AND RUSTED THROUGH.THE DRAIN ON THE FIRE WALL AT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER IS ALSO RUSTED.THE CENTER CROSS MEMBER HAS HAD A SECTION REPLACED SOMEONE CUT THROUGH IT WITH A TORCH.TRANSMISSION MOUNT IS INSTALLED.ALL DOOR AND REAR INTERIOR PANELS ARE IN THE CAR AND LOOK VERY GOOD ALL WINDOW SWITCHES ARE IN THE PANELS AS WELL AS THE WIRING. This Challenger is a FACTORY SUNROOF Vehicle as far as I can tell.  There is no build sheet for positive proof. However, if you will go to dodgechallenger dot com and look in the appearance section searching for sunroofs you will see the write-up on how to tell if a car is a factory sunroof car. Ebay will not let me post the link, so you will have to look it up. If you will email me with your email address, I will send you the information from my personal email.

The Reason I believe this to be true is the fender tag gives a build date of 1/22/1970 and the door tag gives the date of 2/1970. Also the order number K00188. The K would indicate the car left the factory for ASC for the sunroof installation per the post. If you can’t find the post, email me and I will try to send you the post to you.

Now for the car, it is a typical E-body that someone left outside to weather. It needs:

·         FLOOR PANS

·         TRUNK PANS

·         LOWER QUARTER PANEL REPLACED

·         THERE IS SOME FILLER IN THE UPPER QUARTER ON THE DRIVER SIDE

·         THE FRONT FRAME RAILS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE

·         THE REAR RAILS NEED A PATCH INSTALLED

o   I have a donor car that I will remove them from, and provide to the buyer. There is no need to replace the whole rail.

·         THE HOOD AND FENDERS ARE  GOOD WITH SOME PITTING BUT USABLE

·         THE FRONT WINDSHIELD POST WILL NEED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED

·         THE FUEL TANK IS BAD AND RUSTED THROUGH

·         THE DRAIN ON THE FIRE WALL AT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER IS ALSO RUSTED

·         THE CENTER CROSS MEMBER HAS HAD A SECTION REPLACED SOMEONE CUT THROUGH IT WITH A TORCH.

 

This car is very restorable and extremely rare. Ebay only allows 24 pictures. I have many more. Email me and I will send them upon request.

The power windows are in the car and still work. The power roof motor runs, but I got in a rush and stripped a gear in the motor. Transmission mount is installed. All door and rear interior panels are in the car and look very good. All window switches are in the panels as well as the wiring. The front parking light lenses are new reproductions.

The car is available for inspection. It is located in East Tennessee. Contact me and I will email you my address to arrange inspection.

The Chrysler brand could be axed under Stellantis management

MILAN — While running NissanÂ’s North American operations from 2009 to 2011, Carlos Tavares had a reputation for closely watching costs with little tolerance for vehicles or ventures that didnÂ’t make money. Experts say that means Tavares, currently the head of PSA Group, is likely to follow that blueprint when he becomes leader of a merged PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The low-performing Chrysler brand might get the axe as could slow-selling cars, SUVs or trucks that lack potential. Already the companies are talking about consolidating vehicle platforms — the underpinnings and powertrains — to save billions in engineering and manufacturing costs. That could mean job losses in Italy, Germany and Michigan as PSA Peugeot technology is integrated into North American and Italian vehicles. “You canÂ’t be cost efficient if you keep the entire scale of both companies,” said Karl Brauer, executive analyst for the iSeeCars.com auto website. “WeÂ’ve seen this show before, and weÂ’re going to see it again where they economize these platforms across continents, across multiple markets.” Shareholders of both companies are to meet Monday to vote on the merger to form the worldÂ’s fourth-largest automaker, to be called Stellantis. The deal received EU regulatory approval just before Christmas. Tavares, who for years has wanted to sell PSA vehicles in the U.S., wonÂ’t take full control of the merged companies until the end of January at the earliest. He likely will target Europe for consolidation first, because thatÂ’s where Fiat vehicles overlap extensively with PSAÂ’s, said IHS Markit Principal Auto Analyst Stephanie Brinley. Europe has been a money-loser for FCA, and factories in Italy are operating way below capacity — a concern for unions, given FiatÂ’s role as the largest private sector employer in the country. “We are at a crossroads,Â’Â’ said Michele De Palma of the FIOM CGIL metalworkersÂ’ union. “Either there is a relaunch, or there is a slow agonizing closure of industry, in particular the auto industry, in Italy.” ItalyÂ’s hopes lie with the luxury Maserati and sporty Alfa Romeo brands, but De Palma said investments are needed to bring hybrid and electric technology up to speed. FiatÂ’s Italian capacity stands at 1.5 million vehicles, but only a few hundred thousand are being produced each year. Most factories were on rolling short-term layoffs due to lack of demand, even before the pandemic.

Stellantis and LG announce Canadian EV battery joint venture

SEOUL — South Korean battery giant LG Energy Solution (LGES) said on Wednesday it plans to invest $1.5 billion to set up a joint venture with Stellantis in Canada. LGES owns 51% of the joint venture, tentatively named "LGES-STLA JV" and Stellantis owns 49%, LGES said in a regulatory filing. In October, LGES and Stellantis NV struck an electric vehicle (EV) battery production joint venture, targeting to start production by the first quarter of 2024 and aiming to have an annual production capacity of 40 gigawatt hours of batteries. In a separate regulatory filing, LGES said it plans to acquire a stake worth $542 million in ES America to respond to demand from EV startups in the United States. LGES is considering building a factory in Arizona to meet demand in the United States, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters, adding that the plant is expected to primarily produce cylindrical battery cells. LGES has its own factory in Michigan and two battery joint ventures with General Motors in Ohio and Tennessee. "We are considering a new production site, but nothing has been decided yet," said a spokesperson at LGES. LGES, which counts Tesla, GM and Volkswagen among its customers, currently has battery production sites in the United States, China, Poland, Indonesia and South Korea.
