It is a 1972 Datsun 240z. 85k miles on the ODO. 4 speed.

It is an older restoration that needs a some work to get back to great shape.

There have been some upgrades for drivability and reliability. Those being an electric fuel pump and an electronic ignition. A full tune up(plugs, ignition coil, wires, etc.) was done when the electronic ignition was installed 2 months ago. Full synthetic oil is all I've put in it.
New polyurethane sway bar end link bushing and new strut rod bushings.
There is some new rubber seals as well. There are no leaks in the rear hatch.
It has a new battery a month ago.

New Clutch slave cylinder.
Tires only have a few thousand miles on them.
Paint: there are some blemishes, and it's a bit rough around a couple corners(1 crack, some bubbling of the paint on the fender lips), but, it does shine really nicely and with a fresh wax the car looks amazing! The engine bay has been painted black, the radiator supports have been painted the body color silver, the underside of the hood painted to match as well. Door jams painted as well. Rear deck inside was not, so it is the original brown.
Frame rails are in decent shape, just did a new underbody coating with a roll on bed liner.

What it needs: A little bit of interior work: carpet on the driver's side, carpet on the rear deck, driver's seat has a rip in it, dash is cracked but has dash pad, center console cracked. Probably some simple maintenance things on top.

There are no oil leaks and it does not burn mounds of oil. I put in a quart once between oil changes.

It's an easy winter project. Not something you have to poor tons of effort into. It's the little things.

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]

The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
