This is a really cool custom 71 240Z V8 Hot Rod! This AWESOME Z has had a well done professional V8 conversion and is in super nice condition all around... done in hot rod style it looks, runs, and drives great. Small Block Chevy 350 with Turbo 350 trans provide plenty of power with reliability. Super fast but fantastic smooth, easy driver. I've owned several V8 Z's... this one is COOL!. Great daily driver or weekend cruiser, or addition to any collection.

Body is straight with no signs of rust or collision damage that I can see. Hot Rod Satin Black Paint with custom pinstriping looks great with only minor niks and blemishes. Louvered hood, JDM style airdam, and spoiler with blacked turbine rims give it a period correct hot rod stance. Underside is straight and solid. It gets alot of looks especially when you hit the gas... :)

Interior is in great shape as well. Panels, headliner and trim all look nice. Custom padded racing style seats are super comfortable and supportive. Cabin is insulated and is firm and quiet. I assume Dash is cracked under the cover. Gauges and electronics work properly including the clock (Amazing!). Nice 4 point roll bar is bolted and can be removed if desired.

Small Block Chevy 350 runs great,
Aluminum intake manifold, 4 barrel, and custom exhaust. roughly 300 HP. Turbo 350 3 speed trans has a shift kit and shifts smooth and firm. It has custom mounts and reinforcement brackets for motor , trans , and rear end. Motor starts, runs, and idles excellent... It hauls A**.  Incredibly responsive, sounds awesome and is very quick. Suspension feels and handles great... up-graded 4 piston brakes Stops straight and sure. SUPER nice driver.

Overall this is a Fantastic Rust Free Custom Z in great condition all around... Conversion was done right and feels AWESOME. Easy daily driver or weekend cruiser, or potential show car. I am a Z collector... this is a great one for any Z car enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool, original vintage sports car at a great price.

The car is located in Beverly Hills... Inspections are welcome and encouraged... serious buyers can call me at 310 850 8980 but no tire kickers please. I'm open to interesting trades (within ebay guidelines) but no projects or junk please.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Malaise Era All-Stars

Fri, 17 May 2013

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
