1982 DATSUN 280ZX

This 1982 DATSUN 280ZX was a recently rescued from a local garage where it has been stored for the last 15-plus years. The body is solid top to bottom with a solid under carriage.  The the paint work has some "minor orange-peel" in spots. The floors are solid and look original . The bottom areas along the rocker panel areas look good and solid. The engine starts every time and runs very good with good oil pressure and temperature is cool, vehicle is drive-able AS-IS.  Trunk is solid too.  The Interior seats look to be original and are in good condition, the carpet may have been replaced.  Please look over the pictures of the interior and judge for yourself.  This is a nice daily driver, with some restoration work it could again become a show-car.

Tires have good tread depth, the vehicle is in very good overall mechanical condition.  The exhaust from the converter back looks to be fairly new.

This car is being sold AS-IS.  This is a rare opportunity for a collector to pick up a 280ZX in this condition.  I have a clear Ohio title and the vehicle is available for inspection and test drive by appointment (inspection is always recommended with vintage vehicles). Please look this over.

I reserve the right to cancel the auction as the car for sale locally. I can be reached at 440-915-3087 with questions. Please see my feedback. I really try to describe my items in detail so there are no surprises.

Datsun to unveil second model later this month

Sun, 08 Sep 2013

Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.

Datsun officially reborn with Go model for India [w/video]

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

In March of 2012, Nissan announced the return of its historic Datsun brand. Datsun used to represent the Nissan brand in a number of markets, but its badge hasn't been worn on a new model since 1981. In 2013, though, it has been relaunched as the Japanese manufacturer's budget offering in the emerging markets of India and Russia.
The model that will lead that charge, at least in India, is the Go, a car that pays tribute to the very first Datsun, the DAT-GO.
The operative term with the Datsun brand is: "budget offering." Don't step inside the Go and expect beautiful hides or brushed metals (it's being sold in India, after all). The instrument cluster features a simple speedometer, while the five-speed manual and the center stack above it are rather barren. It's not without luxuries, though, as iPod-style connectivity is available through a Mobile Docking Station.

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
