1977 Datsun 280z Fairlady Fuel Injection And Manual Transmission on 2040-cars
Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States
I inherited a 1977 Datsun 280z. It has the original inline 6 cylinder and manual transmission. Its a California car. It was in the shop - Toby's Auto Repair in Fresno, CA. No Rust. It has been sitting for the last 3 years at the shop. Currently, its at Ray Auto Body out in Delano, MN being worked on. The car doesn't run. The original plan was to restore the car and keep it original. Sadly to say, I don't have the time or money to work or have work performed on the car. It doesn't run. Clean MN title. I transferred it to MN when I brought it up. Mileage shows 26xxx, could be original miles but I'm not sure as the speedo only has 5 digits.
Things wrong with the car: Car runs and idles but does not drive. Needs minor work on engine. The radiator was replaced with a high performance aluminum one. I believe it was like 500+ dollars. Driver seat has a rip in the seem. Its the original seat. The paint is still in good condition but could use a touch up on some spots. There is a small dent, not really noticeable, on the corner of the hood. The Good: It has the inline 6 fuel injected engine Manual Transmission - Better then the automatick Enkei Inline rims 95% stock with the exception of the body kit, rims and radiator VIN: HLS30359989 |

Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
