Up for sale is an outstanding, one of a kind 2004 PT Cruiser 2.4L Automatic. It has many upgrades. An Orion Body Kit was installed on the vehicle that includes both Front/Rear Fascias, a new custom front grille, and rear wing. Headlights and Taillights were upgraded with better aftermarket units. The entire PT has a custom paint job with air brushed flames. The entire exhaust was upgraded to a Magnaflow system. The interior was replaced and all seats were custom covered with leather. The headliner and door panels were finished in suede. Dash panels were painted to match the body finish and any worn interior pieces were replaced. The stereo was upgraded with all new high's and mid's and 2 10" subs. Two amps in the rear drive everything with a custom box to house it all. Total power is near 2000 watts. It has an Alpine head-unit that features Bluetooth and Pandora. The wheels/tires were upgraded to 19" Axis wheels and Nitto Invo 235/35/19 tires. Tires have 90% life remaining. It was also lowered 2" with Eibach springs and shocks/struts were replaced. Brakes are new along with all suspension components such as sway bar links, ball joints, etc. Every button/switch works. The A/C works perfect when driving but is medium cool when sitting in traffic. Most likely needs a recharge if anything. The windows have been professionally tinted and red LED lights are installed under the front dash and switchable on/off. The PT comes with the owner’s manual, one keyless remote, and one key.
Though it does have some miles (157k), this PT still drives great and looks like new inside and out with almost every wear item replaced. All the customizations were done about 6 months and 2k miles ago. These were not done by rookies and the paint and interior are quality jobs. This thing turns heads going down the road and stands out in several ways from a normal PT cruiser. It's sporty to drive and the sound system is great. The title is in hand for the new owner and it's ready to drive. |

Bailout dealership cuts did their job as profits surge
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Almost five years after US taxpayers bailed out General Motors and Chrysler, a large majority of their slimmed-down dealership networks are posting soaring profits, Bloomberg reports, and contributing to the US auto industry on track this year to deliver 15.4 million vehicles, the most since 16.15 million were delivered in 2007.
Consider another important figure: Bloomberg says that more than 90 percent of GM dealerships are profitable, compared to about half of them in 2008 and 2009. At the start of 2013, GM had 4,355 US dealerships and Chrysler had about 2,600. Compare that with just a few years ago, when GM had 6,246 dealers in 2008, while Chrysler had 3,200 in 2009.
As part of their bankruptcy restructuring, both GM and Chrysler decided that their retail networks contained far too many dealerships and insisted that they be slimmed down. The resultant dealership terminations followed by a rebounding auto market - in part due to better new GM and Chrysler vehicles - have increased the number of sales per dealership to record levels. Many dealers are taking advantage of increasing profits and investing in facility renovations and updates, such as Chrysler dealership owner David Kelleher. He's spending $2 million to expand his store.
Next Chrysler minivan to get optional AWD, nine-speed auto
Wed, 19 Feb 2014
"The minivan package has always been a sacred thing ... it's basically a life tool" - Ralph Gilles
The stalwart duo of Chrysler minivans will be reduced by half in the vehicle's next generation, with the Dodge Grand Caravan likely going away in favor of a new people-mover-type vehicle. And while the reworked Chrysler Town & Country shouldn't radically shake up the usual minivan formula, a new report from Automotive News suggests that some new technologies and thoughtful updates are in the cards for our Canadian-built van.
Mopar Hellephant crate engine sells out in 48 hours
Sun, May 5 2019This happened so quickly that we're only just catching up with it. Mopar opened pre-orders on the 7.0-liter Hellephant Hemi crate engine on April 26, which is Hemi Day. According to Allpar, hubbub on social media not long after that day claimed Mopar had gone through all of its Hellephant stock. When Allpar asked Fiat Chrysler for clarification, a spokesperson e-mailed, "Given the high demand and the hand-built, time-intensive build process, we have closed preordering for the 426 Hellephant Supercharged HEMI crate engine. Based on preorders, the engine sold out in just two days. Customers can visit www.cratehemi.com to receive future information and updates on the 'Hellephant' engine." No one is certain how many engines Mopar sold. Allpar wrote, "Industry insiders believe Mopar may be making around 100," but reiterated that it's a guess. The engine and the ordering process have their peculiarities. Mopar Insiders explained that Tool Engineering International helped create the 426-cubic-inch block, and that the Hellephant engine "shares nothing except for displacement with the rumored upcoming 7.0-liter 426 Hemi V8." On the Hellcat.org forum, a poster wrote that the engines "can only be sold through a dealer and that the dealers can only order 1 engine per week." The Hellephant doesn't come with Mopar's three-year, 100,000-mile warranty, either. During a press briefing last October, FCA officials said they weren't sure about offering any warranty. Based on the motor being given a part number starting with the letter P, there is a bit of protection, but it's a 90-day limited warranty covering "defects in materials or wokmanship," and only applies to engines not used in competition. For those who didn't get the opportunity to drop $29,995 for 1,000 horsepower and 950 pound-feet of torque, the best bet is to hope for the return of Apollyon's pachyderm. Motor1 wrote that "Rumors hint at... another limited run scheduled for next year due to overwhelming demand." That's thin thread to hang a Hellephant from, but it beats bupkis.
