A TRUE time capsule, a survivor with just over 40,000 actual miles.  Recently purchased from an estate this is probably the nicest original 36 year old car you'll find...anywhere!!  LOOK CLOSE AT THE PICTURES AND REMEMBER THIS CAR HAS HAD ABSOLUTELY NO RESTORATION...EVER!!  It wears it's original paint, interior and drive train.  The spare tire was installed by Chrysler Corporation in 1978 and it's NEVER been on the ground!!  And of course never any rust...ever!!
Mechanically the car runs and drives great!! I just drove the car 125 miles on the interstate at 75 mph.  The cruise works perfectly and it's just a great driving and running car.  For those of us my age, we remember how cra**y Chrysler's Lean Burn System cars ran. They didn't work very well when they were new.  Well...this one is the exception to the Lean Burn rule!!  It starts right up, no chugging and choking.  And it doesn't "stumble" as you accelerate. It's impressive how it runs. Quiet and smooth. The four barrel carb kicks right down and has decent power for such a big car. The factory AC is ice cold still on R12 refrigerant. Brakes and shocks work as they should. The tires are excellent.

Options..there are many:  400 4-barrel, power steering, brakes and power driver seat.  Cruise control and tilt steering with telescoping wheel.  Cornering lights, fender skirts, am-fm radio.  Front split bench seat with dual arm rests. Light package. Even rare for the time "delay" windshield wipers too!!

Cosmetically there are just a very few flaws. As seen in the pics a few scratches, minor road rash very low behind the rear wheels. The vinyl top has a small area that has "curled" as you can see. The dash pad is perfect, the glas is original and very nice.  The headliner is drooping. It's being sold this way but there's a possibility I can have it replaced by auction ends..WATCH FOR UPDATES regarding I will post.

Summing it up:  This car is ready for summer cruise nights and local car shows.  It's a great classic piece of American iron at it's best from the company that was called Chrysler Corporation!!  The reserve is low...very low to enable anyone that wants a nice LOW MILEAGE classic car to own it.
I NEED TO PUT THE CAP BUTTON ON...DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR UNLESS YOU HAVE THE MEANS AND INTENTIONS TO BUY IT!!  Have your financial affairs in order and permission from your spouse, partner or signifigant other PRIOR to bidding.  ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. My phone is with me 24/7 and I'll answer your questions honestly and openly. Fly in drive the car home in total comfort, I can pick you up at the airport. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. The car is stored in a secure building.
Winning bidder to send a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal 48 hours end of auction. Balance to be paid within 7-days via bank to bank wire transfer, certified bank funds or cash when picked up.

Remember...call me anytime with any questions  Tom  402-650-3849

Sergio: Two-tier wage structure eliminated in FCA deal with UAW [w/video]

Wed, Sep 16 2015

The two-tiered wage structure that governs the way domestic car companies pay their unionized employees – and rankles many of them in the process – could soon be a thing of the past. In a tentative deal seen as a bellwether for other ongoing negotiations, the United Auto Works and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reached a tentative agreement on a four-year contract that would disband the two-tier structure, in which some workers earn higher hourly wages for performing the same job, over time. Officials who announced the tentative agreement late Tuesday in Detroit were short on details of its contents and union members still must ratify it. But FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne said the two-tiered structure will disband by the end of the contract. "The team has crafted together a very thoughtful process, where the issue will go away, go away over time," he said. Further details weren't divulged. Union negotiations with Ford and General Motors are ongoing, so hammering together a deal that sheds the two-tier structure with Chrysler first could set a precedent followed by the other members of Detroit's Big Three automakers. Other key issues that emerged in negotiations with FCA included escalating health-care costs and rewarding workers for the health of the auto industry. But dealing with the two-tier structure, born as GM and Chrysler circled bankruptcy during the Great Recession, was something the UAW wanted to confront. "The UAW has a philosophy about the economic balance of this country and the inequality, and our mission is to bridge the gap in this country," UAW president Dennis Williams said. "It's gotten out of whack. ... We don't want to share anything, and I truly believe that corporations that have that set of mind have lost their way." The UAW's executive board was expected to review the tentative agreement this morning before a union membership vote is scheduled. For Marchionne, who skipped the Frankfurt Motor Show to shepherd the negotiations during their final hours, the tentative agreement means he can shift his concern back toward pushing an FCA merger with General Motors or another company and touting the idea of industry consolidation in general. "The other side of this is capital usage in this business, which is something that remains unsolved," he said. "It makes the labor side sort of pale in comparison, given the magnitude of the potential synergies and benefits we'd be deriving from an intelligent approach.

Fiat Chrysler expands Takata airbag recall to 3.3M vehicles

Fri, Dec 19 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is expanding its recall of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags, moving beyond Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands to the greater US, as well as Mexico, Canada and beyond. The affected vehicles, some 3.3 million in total, were built between 2004 and 2007, with many models, including the Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500, Durango and the Chrysler 300, having been affected by Chrysler's previous recall. Despite the somewhat alarming nature that comes with a recall of this many vehicles, it seems that Chrysler is moving more out of an abundance of caution (and federal pressure) than anything else, saying: "Neither FCA US, nor Takata Corporation, the supplier, has identified a defect in this population of inflators. These components also are distinct from Takata inflators cited in fatalities involving other auto makers. More than 1,000 laboratory tests have been performed on these components. All deployed as intended, but FCA US continues to study the suspect inflators, which are not used in the Company's current production vehicles." Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and asked to report to dealers for a free replacement driver's side airbag. Scroll down for the official press release from FCA. Statement: Global Air-Bag Inflator Replacement December 19, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC will replace driver's-side air-bag inflators in an estimated 3.3 million older-model vehicles worldwide, in an expansion of an ongoing regional field action. Neither FCA US, nor Takata Corporation, the supplier, has identified a defect in this population of inflators. These components also are distinct from Takata inflators cited in fatalities involving other auto makers. More than 1,000 laboratory tests have been performed on these components. All deployed as intended, but FCA US continues to study the suspect inflators, which are not used in the Company's current production vehicles. Outside of Florida, one of the areas covered by the original action, no FCA US vehicle has been linked to an air-bag deployment of the type that has raised public concern. Nevertheless, the Company is replacing the Takata components tied to that concern. FCA US is aware of one related injury involving one of its vehicles, an older-model sedan. It occurred in a southern Florida region marked by persistent, high, absolute humidity – a condition believed to be a contributing factor in the air-bag deployments under investigation.

Ferrari families have 'agreement' to prevent takeover

Thu, Oct 22 2015

With its initial public offering already a massive success, Ferrari is now officially a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. While anyone can buy those shares, don't expect investors to take control away from some of the top owners of the Prancing Horse anytime soon. To maintain their power, Enzo Ferrari's son, Piero, and Exor chairman John Elkann will sign a deal guaranteeing themselves nearly half of the automaker's voting rights, Bloomberg reports. As part of this arrangement, shareholders that agree to hang onto Ferrari stock for at least three years would receive additional voting rights in the company, and that would give Piero and Elkann a combined 48.7 percent of the automaker by banding together. While not quite complete control, the move should be enough to prevent a takeover of the business. "We have an agreement among the families to protect our interests in Ferrari," Piero said to Bloomberg. This agreement won't really become a concern until next year because only 10 percent of Ferrari will be traded for now. FCA will distribute another 80 percent to its shareholders in early 2016, and Elkann's Exor will be getting the largest portion of the Prancing Horse in the spin-off. Meanwhile, Piero holds the remaining 10 percent but has absolutely no intention to sell his stake in his father's business. The newly public Ferrari will push to grow volume with a goal of moving 9,000 vehicles annually by 2019. To reach that 30-percent boost, expect to see a new model every year, and some of them might use a new, modular platform that's reportedly under development. Related Video:
