Thank you

Where to start, I would love to keep this amazing piece of automotive history but I simply no longer have the space and storage.
This 1952 Chrysler New Yorker is a two owner car. I have the ORIGINAL 1952 Title and the original 1952 license plate which came with the car.

This automobile has been garaged its entire life. It has never been out in the rain, or any kind of weather, It was stored inside a garage with a wooden floor its entire life. Dry and protected from the elements.

The car is almost completely original and untouched, the way it came out of the showroom floor 62 years ago.
Take a look at the photos they tell the car as it is.

The 331 Chrysler Hemi runs absolutely amazing. Starts right up, runs whisper quiet. No smoke, no leaks.
The fluid drive transmission operates flawlessly
It of course has had a minimal going over to make it road safe. It has New Brakes and wheel cylinders all the way around as well as a new master cylinder.
It has a brand new Water Pump, the starter and generator were gone over and freshened up and it has a newer NAPA battery
Everything else is original, including the hoses and belts.
Tires are old poly glass bias tires. I am shocked that they are not dry rotted but I would strongly suggest they be replaced with a vintage reproduction tire if the car is going to be driven any distance to shows or cruises.
The interior is in one word INCREDIBLE! It is basically flawless, the way it looked in 1952 and completely original. I found one hairline crack in the passenger side front arm rest. Very small and almost not even visible but I mention what I see. How this was kept in this condition is amazing. The original carpets are like new, seats, door panels etc.
The exterior paint is about the same way, it is smooth and has a nice lustre. Now it is 62 years old so it is not like the paints of today. It is the paint they used in 1952. There is no rust or rot on this car at all. The rear fenders have some very small blisters under the paint, I have seen this on other 50's mopars, if you pick them off, the metal is bare underneath, not rusty. Again, this is not something noticeable but mentionable. Personally I would not bother having them redone, as it would take away from the total originality of this vehicle.  Paint wise, one other spot to mention is I noticed a small touch up spot above the right rear fender which would have had to have been done long long ago. Possibly even when it was new.
The chrome on the car ranges from beautiful to presentable. Most of the die cast is very nice. The hood ornament and hood and trunk 'V" are beautiful. The fender spears have some pitting, as well as some very very small pitting on the door handles. The stainless work is perfect. The bumpers are as Mopar made them back then, a commercial non brilliant chrome. They do show aging but present themselves as they were produced in the proper authentic chroming that was done to Chrysler bumpers back then.

Everything works on the car with possibly the clock, I am not sure if the former owner pulled the fuse as most did cause they were electric and ran the battery down over time. Radio works, as do all lights and heater although again, the hoses should be replaced to that, they are 62 years old.

Take a good look at the photos, feel free to ask questions as I may have missed something important to you and PLEASE FOLLOW ALL TERMS AND PAYMENT DEADLINES IF BIDDING and PLEASE!! NO TIRE KICKERS! I want this car to go to a proper home where it can be preserved the way it is or improved. If you are not serious enough to commit to a car of this quality, please look elsewhere. Thank You!

Michigan ponders its automotive future in the connected age

Wed, May 31 2017

Few people take cars more seriously than Michiganders. I've been to the home of BMW in Germany. I've been to Kia's HQ in Korea. I've seen Honda's goods in Japan. No one, from the factory worker to the executive in her pinstriped suit, is more obsessed with cars than Michigan Inc. That's why it was interesting this week to see the state have a moment of introspection four hours north of the Motor City on a scenic island called Mackinac. Ironically, cars are not allowed here. Normally a tourist trap, it played placed host to the Mackinac Public Policy conference this week. While politics took center stage ( I may be the only person here not considering a run for governor) the evolution of the industry through connectivity and data was a theme of the conference. If you're reading this in New York, Silicon Valley, or one of the automotive heartlands listed above, you do care about this. If Michigan rethinks its approach to the car business – and makes moves to become more competitive – that affects you the consumer and enthusiast. It's jobs. It's technology, and it's a competition to see who's going to be the leader. More than a century after Henry Ford made mass production a thing, more than 70 years after Detroit's Arsenal of Democracy helped win World War II, and nearly a decade after the historic bankruptcies of General Motors and Chrysler, the car business is on solid footing again and looking to the future. What's next? Michigan is still home to thousands of auto workers, tech centers (including gleaming facilities built by Toyota and Hyundai), and the headquarters of the three American carmakers. Just because the economy is good doesn't mean it's a given connected cars and mobility advancements are going to come from this state. A lot of it's not. Tesla, Uber, Lyft, Faraday Future, and other transportation mediums have spouted up other places. Michigan leaders and Detroit's carmakers understand this reality. Reflecting on the past means admitting the future is not a given, a key undertone this week in Mackinac. It's about using existing resources, like skilled labor, to move forward. "We do have the number of technicians and technical expertise here in this state," says Stephen Polk," conference chair and former CEO of auto data firm R.L. Polk & Co. To that end, Ford is placing increased emphasis on a division called Smart Mobility, which is an in-house unit focusing on autonomy, connectivity, and forward-looking ideas.

Stellantis expects to hit emissions target without Tesla's help

Tue, May 4 2021

Franco-Italian carmaker Stellantis expects to achieve its European carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions targets this year without environmental credits bought from Tesla, its CEO said in an interview published on Tuesday. Stellantis was formed through the merger of France's PSA and Italy's FCA, which spent about 2 billion euros ($2.40 billion) to buy European and U.S. CO2 credits from electric vehicle maker Tesla over the 2019-2021 period. "With the electrical technology that PSA brought to Stellantis, we will autonomously meet carbon dioxide emission regulations as early as this year," Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares said in the interview with French weekly Le Point. "Thus, we will not need to call on European CO2 credits and FCA will no longer have to pool with Tesla or anyone." California-based Tesla earns credits for exceeding emissions and fuel economy standards and sells them to other automakers that fall short. European regulations require all car manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions for private vehicles to an average of 95 grams per kilometer this year. A Stellantis spokesman said the company is in discussions with Tesla about the financial implications of the decision to stop the pooling agreement. "As a result of the combination of Groupe PSA and FCA, Stellantis will be in a position to achieve CO2 targets in Europe for 2021 without open passenger car pooling arrangements with other automakers," he added. Tesla's sales of environmental credits to rival automakers helped it to announce slightly better than expected first-quarter revenue this week. The next tightening of European regulations will soon be the subject of proposals from the European Commission. The 2030 target could be lowered to less than 43 grams/km. 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Long-term Review | Introducing something green

Wed, Aug 22 2018

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. — I'm stoked to drive this minivan. Legitimately. The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid is an impressive evolution of the minivan and a smart execution of electric technology. Why hasn't someone made a hybrid minivan until now? I ponder this as I unplug the charger and take my first spin in the Pacifica, the newest addition to the Autoblog long-term fleet. Sinking into the leather seats, I'm immediately relaxed. That's why you buy a minivan: comfort and convenience. Hybrid tech? Well that makes this thing sustainable and even cool. Whether your friends are swanky or wonky, play the plug-in hybrid card and your people hauler is cooler than theirs. What we got We went with the Pacifica Hybrid Limited. It starts at $44,995 and wears a beautiful shade of Ocean Blue. The interior features black and alloy pieces and leather. Power comes from the sturdy 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 dubbed the eHybrid for this application, and it works with an eFlite electrically variable transmission home to two motors making 84 and 114 hp. The hybrid battery pack has 96 lithium-ion cells that generate 16 kWh of energy. The net system power is 260 horsepower. In real-world driving, it's quick, torquey and more fun to drive than the average minivan. It can charge in two hours using a Level 2 charger and offers 33 miles of range on pure electricity. Collectively, it puts out 84 MPGe, and using just the Pentastar it's still rated at a robust 32 mpg in combined city and highway driving conditions. The Limited is the top-of-the line Pacifica trim, offering heated and vented front seats, an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen and 13 Alpine speakers as standard equipment. We added a safety and tech package ($995) that includes parking assist, a 360-degree surround view camera, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, seatback video screens and a Blu-ray DVD player. We also ticked the box for the hybrid appearance package ($395) to add 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, body color treatments for the mirrors and door handles, and a "Black Spear Applique" for the rear fascia. It's not worth your money. We topped it off with the $1,595 tri-pane sunroof, which is totally worth your money. Final cost including destination: $49,325. It's reasonable, considering the level of luxury the Limited offers, and as we all know, hybrid tech isn't cheap. If you can get the $7,500 federal tax credit the government offers on electrics, it's a great value.
