1953 Chrysler New Yorker Newport Coupe 2 owner car from South Carolina.
One of 3,700 built with fewer than 12 remaining. Same body as the New Yorker Convertible. Car is completely rust free and retains all of its original sheet metal. The car had a complete mechanical restoration. The original 331 Hemi was redone using all HotHeads equipment. A 270 cam, all high quality materials. A very rare 1954 4 barrel intake was used with a Demon Carb and a custom Fabricated original air cleaner with K&N filter to look original. The motor runs fantastically and puts out about 300 hp. New dual exhaust with a great sound. New wheel bearings. New wheel cylinders. New brake pads. The original useless trans was replaced with a 727 Torque Flight using the HotHeads adaptor plate. It runs and drives so much better with this combination and you could not tell to the naked eye that it has been replaced. Still has a functional parking brake. New drive shaft. New set of Hobby Car wire wheels and caps. New set of Diamond Back radials. The car is lowered 2 inches giving it a much better look. New shocks. The interior was completely redone using the correct materials and patterns. Material was provided by SMS interiors out of Oregon. All glass is great. All weather stripping has been replaced. All gauges work. The lower exterior of the car has been repainted with the correct color. The roof was not. Just did not need it. The underside of the car has been cleaned, painted and undercoated. Bright work is in great condition. Bumpers are very presentable but sometime in the future I was going to redo to match the quality of the car. The car runs and drives extremely well. Probably better than new due to rebuilt motor with more power and a better trans. I am sure I have missed something as we have gone over this car extensively. The car is located in Stewartsville, NJ 08886. I encourage an on site inspection. If you have any questions please call Rob at 908-403-0568. As usual any and all shipping related items is the responsibility of the buyer. I will sell overseas as I have done so numerous times. I have a clear NJ title in hand. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time and to cancel any bid I deem. Payment shall be a NON REFUNDABLE deposit of $ 500.00 via paypal within 24 hours of auction end with the balance due within 7 days. Payment shall be by Wire Transfer or Cash in hand upon pickup. NO exceptions. |

Fiat Chrysler teams with startup Archer to build an electric air taxi
Tue, Jan 12 2021Archer Aviation is one of many startups trying to build an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, among Volocopter, Hyundai, Lilium and many others. The startup just boosted its standing, however, as it has announced a partnership with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Archer plans to build a composite eVTOL aircraft capable of traveling 150 mph for distances up to 60 miles. FCA will provide access to its “low-cost supply chain, advanced composite material capabilities and engineering and design experience,” according to Archer. The aim is to unveil the electric aircraft design in 2021 and start manufacturing in 2023. Archer has only released a teaser image of the aircraft, showing a sleek six-prop, V-tail design. Presumably, the wings or individual engines rotate to allow for both VTOL and decent forward travel speeds. The design differs from others weÂ’ve seen like LiliumÂ’s aircraft, which has the propulsive fans hidden in the wings. ItÂ’s also nothing like the drone-type designs from Volocopter, Joby and Hyundai. It does look a bit like Larry PageÂ’s “Cora” air taxi, however. Archer said itÂ’s been “hyper-focused” on the customer part of the design, aiming to offer “increased safety while producing minimal noise” compared to helicopters. “Now, we are working with a seasoned, industry-leading automotive partner... to produce thousands of aircraft reliably and affordably every single year,” said co-founder and co-CEO Brett Adcock. All passenger aircraft must pass a rigorous FAA certification process thatÂ’s daunting even for experienced companies like Boeing, and itÂ’s still not clear how “thousands” of air taxis would fit into the current air traffic control system. On top of that, so far weÂ’ve seen zero eVTOL aircraft that look ready for human transport or mass production. Written by Steve Dent for Engadget. Green Plants/Manufacturing Chrysler Fiat air taxi
FCA CEO Manley says alliances are still possible but aren't necessary
Mon, Aug 5 2019DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Chief Executive has a message for Renault SA and other would-be partners: We are happy to talk, but we can go it alone. "Strategically, we have a solid future and clear plans that are being invested in and are underway now," Mike Manley said during a session with reporters the day after the company released better than expected second-quarter results. "That isn't to say if there is a better future through an alliance or partnership or merger we wouldnÂ’t be open and interested to it." Fiat Chrysler is open to re-starting merger negotiations with French automaker Renault, Manley said, but added the French car maker is not the only potential partner to gain scale or plug gaps in Fiat Chrysler's technology or vehicle lineup. "To say are they the only opportunity, the answer to that question would be a definitive ‘No,Â’" Manley said. Fiat Chrysler in June withdrew a $35 billion merger proposal with Renault after French government officials intervened in the talks and sought to delay a decision on the deal. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Renault and Nissan are trying again to reshape their alliance and resolve disagreements that helped to derail the merger talks with Fiat Chrysler. Fiat Chrysler has a commercial vehicle partnership with French rival Peugeot SA, and the two companies discussed a broader combination before Fiat Chrysler made its offer to Renault, people familiar with the situation have said. Manley said automakers are not the only potential partners. "There are cooperations that can help in specific technologies. There are cooperations as we think about the consumer-car interface," he said. "You could see collaborations that never would be there in the past." Fiat Chrysler's North American business is strong thanks to Ram trucks and Jeep SUVs, but in other markets the automaker faces continued challenges. The company is overhauling its mass-market business in Europe, which is anchored by the Fiat brand. Fiat Chrysler's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations were marginally profitable in the second quarter and achieved 1.8% profit margin in 2018. Manley has set a goal of 3% operating margins, well short of the 10% margins the company forecast for North America.
Chrysler highlights Mopar lineup for SEMA
Wed, 30 Oct 2013SEMA is all about aftermarket parts, and in Auburn Hills that all comes down to one name: Mopar. After having previewed its lineup for this year's Vegas tuner expo earlier this month, Chrysler has now revealed what may not quite be its full dossier of modified show cars, but a good portion of them.
All told Mopar is preparing 20 vehicles for display at SEMA this year. Among them you'll find the Ram Sun Chaser, a 1500 Quad Cab show truck kitted out in two-tone orange and black paint, a roof rack for surfboards, onboard shower and convertible tailgate. The white Fiat 500L is called the Adventurer and is modified for a more rugged look that could hint at the upcoming crossover version. The Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver upgrades on the Trailhawk package with everything from roof basket to rock rails. To counterbalance the off-roaders, there's also a modified Chrysler 300S with a deep black paint job, special grille, Varvatos-edition wheels and more.
All four concepts details so far have Katzkin interiors as well, and there's also an unspecified Dodge Durango with a storm-trooper look in the gallery above. But for more details on what Mopar has installed on the Ram, 500L, Cherokee and 300, you'll want to delve into the press release below.
