2005 Chrysler wheelchair conversion Van.

First off, let me point out that this van is as close to show room condition as possible, allowing for age and miles. I have looked it over very carefully and found one nick on the front grill, about the size of a house fly, one scuff on the right side belt molding and what appears to be a car wash brush scuff on the right taillight lens; the interior is beautiful. Let me also point out that I did not purchase this van with any intention of reselling it, however, since it was a long-distance purchase, it never occurred to me ask the width of the wheelchair lift. Unfortunately, the Braun lift (NMV05) although having a 400 pound lift capacity, is, at 25.75" usable width,  about an inch too narrow for my power wheelchair. This might also be a good time to point out that this van does not have a lowered floor. However, because the previous owner actually purchased it for a family member, who unfortunately became too disabled to drive before even receiving it, and said owner has a car dealership, this van was completely serviced mechanically from bottom to top and features new tires, new brakes, new sway bar links, new battery and alignment. He also took the time to have his local mobility dealer check out all of the adaptive equipment on the vehicle and verified that it was working properly. If you are not familiar with the AEVIT (Advanced Electronic Vehicle Interface Technology) systems, you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that they make driving much easier and safer for the disabled person. The AEVIT system provides electronic control of the throttle and brake, so it requires much less physical input than a mechanical system. It also has a screen with button switches to control all of the normal driving functions such as starting, transmission shifting, parking brake, headlights, windshield wipers, horn, HVAC, door locks and power windows. If you would like to see a demonstration of some of these features, on this van, send me a request and I'll reply with Youtube video links. This system is especially convenient for someone who has contracted fingers, strength and/or reach problems. That is why I wanted it for myself. Additionally, there is extra power assist applied to the steering mechanism to make that lighter and there is a backup system to provide boost for the power brakes in the event that the engine is shut off. The AEVIT system is probably state-of-the-art in mobility assistance and safety. It is also, if purchased new, very expensive. The local shop told me I would be looking at around $60,000 to install a system in my existing conversion Van. Obviously, purchasing it used can save quite a bit of money. If you are looking at a vehicle history report, there is a mention of an accident. I was told that this was a very slight incident that only damaged one of the bumper covers which has been replaced. Again, I cannot overemphasize the marvelous condition of this vehicle!

EZ-Lock System and center row seats are included, but not currently installed.

Clear Texas title, in my name. Vehicle inspections welcomed and vehicle can remain here for up to two weeks after purchase.

Editors' Picks March 2021 | Ford Mustang Mach-E, Polestar 2, Land Rover Defender and more

Thu, Apr 8 2021

The month of March was unofficial minivan month here at Autoblog. We drove all of them but the Kia Carnival, but don’t worry, you wonÂ’t have to wait much longer to read that review. Among all the family-toting machines, we drove some more exciting vehicles including the Land Rover Defender and a pair of up-and-coming EVs. It was a month of excellent cars, meaning that this monthÂ’s litter of EditorsÂ’ Picks is stacked. In case you missed FebruaryÂ’s picks, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary or stand out in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in March that earned the honor of being an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2021 Ford Bronco Sport 2021 Ford Bronco Sport First Edition View 32 Photos Quick take: Ford's baby Bronco is an authentic foil to the big Bronco 2-Door and 4-Door. It brings rugged styling, better-than-average off-road capability and thoughtful utility features to a generic segment of cars. Score: 8 What it competes with: Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Mazda CX-30, Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Seltos, Chevrolet Trailblazer Pros: Stellar design, excellent off-road, clever interior details throughout Cons: Pricier than most, average transmission, underwhelming interior quality and ambiance in lowest trims From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — “I genuinely enjoy driving this cute crossover. It feels like a mini truck on the road, and Ford admirably translated the design from its big Bronco over to this Escape-based crossover. News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "The Bronco Sport isn't perfect, the transmission could use some work, and it's a little bumpy, but it's a characterful little thing with loads of style, great visibility and space, and impressive capabilities on and off road in the powerful Badlands form." In-depth analysis: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Review | Bronco for the masses   2021 Land Rover Defender 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 View 64 Photos Quick take: The Land Rover Defender provides everything you'd hope for in a modern Land Rover: superlative off-road capability, surprisingly plush on-road demeanor, abundant interior space and abundant character. The base four-cylinder is likely all you'll need and lower trim levels provide more than enough equipment.

Mopar opening Custom Shop at Cobo

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

While other automakers have been streamlining their brand portfolio, the Chrysler Group has shown no such signs. It's got the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep brands, plus Fiat, and it recently broke out its SRT and Ram nameplates into their own brands. And you can bet each will have its own presence at the Detroit Auto Show this year. But don't forget Mopar. The company's performance parts division is getting its own display at Cobo this year, and it'll be the largest in the brand's history.
The Mopar Custom Shop is poised to take up 5,500 square-feet of Cobo floor space, further expanding on last year's Mopar Garage. If the image above offers any indication, the show stand will include a Dodge Challenger, SRT Viper, Fiat 500L, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee, Ram 3500 and what looks like (but isn't identified in the press release below as) a Chrysler 200 (which may be replaced by a 2014 model), all augmented with Mopar parts and accessories.
Visitors will also be able to use pre-programmed iPads to configure Chrysler Group vehicles with a wide range of accessories - a portfolio that grows by 1,500 new parts every year and tops over 100 add-ons for every new vehicle Chrysler launches.

Marchionne emailed Barra about merger between FCA and GM

Mon, May 25 2015

Sergio Marchionne is adamant that global automakers will have to merge to remain profitable in the near future, and he'll tell that to anyone who's listening. Mary Barra, however, is not interested. According to The New York Times, the Fiat-Chrysler chief proposed a merger with General Motors via email to his counterpart back in March. Marchionne proposed meeting to discuss the matter, but Barra and her team reportedly rejected even entertaining the idea. This of course is not the first time Marchionne has raised the idea of a merger. He masterminded the marriage between Fiat and Chrysler, and reports have since suggested further mergers with Volkswagen, Peugeot, Ford, and others – including GM's own Opel unit. Some have taken his calls for consolidation as a weakness, but Marchionne insists that his empire is in good health – and that it's the industry as a whole which is in an untenable position. According to his view, automakers around the world need to align themselves into larger groups in order to reduce redundancy in investment, development and infrastructure – the duplication of which he terms as wasteful. "It's fundamentally immoral to allow for that waste to continue unchecked," said Marchionne to the Times. "I think it is absolutely clear that the amount of capital waste that's going on in this industry is something that certainly requires remedy," he said in a conference call with industry analysts late last month following the rejected GM approach. "A remedy in our view is through consolidation." News Source: The New York TimesImage Credit: Paul Sancya/AP Chrysler Fiat GM Sergio Marchionne merger fiat chrysler automobiles
