Facts about the Prowler

The Prowler was produced at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit where they are built alongside the
Dodge Viper production line with the body produced in Shadyside, Ohio.

An average of 14 Prowlers a day were built during construction years.

Prowler first appeared as a concept car at the 1993 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Prowler production began in July of 1997 as a 1997 model.

Beginning in January 2001, it was branded a Chrysler vehicle.

The Prowler has the distinction of being North America's most aluminium-intensive vehicle.

Last 300 Prowlers were painted Deep Candy Red.  The color features a new paint technology in its pearl coat that will actually make the car sparkle in bright light.

Originally a five-year run for the Prowler was planned when production started in 1997.

Prowler features a 3.5-liter 24-valve sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection, 60-degree
single overhead cam, all-aluminum V-6 engine that produces 253 horsepower at 6400 rpm, and 255 lb.-ft. of torque at 3950 rpm.

The last 300 Prowlers were Painted Deep Candy Red The manufacturer's suggested retail price for 2002 Chrysler Prowler was $44,625, plus $775 for destination.

After six seasons on the market, Chrysler’s retro-look, two-passenger roadster is about to become extinct, as the 2002 model year marks the final season for the Prowler. The final 300 Prowlers will be painted Deep Candy Red — a pearl coat that the automaker says will “make the car sparkle in bright light.”

Car is in great shape recently released from a local collection and purchased from a previous collection with very low miles which is less than 1400 miles a year. The original tires started to crack from age and a new set of tires recently installed. There are some small tiny road rash on bottom and scratch on chin. The top has a tiny pin hole and the common crease found on most prowlers on the lower rear window  Put the top down and head out down the highway on a sunny afternoon!

All used vehicles should be assumed to have some type of wear. I try to use my best efforts to verify a vehicle's overall condition, but I am not able to warranty the original manufacturer’s work or any previous owner’s diligence in care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold "AS IS" and there are no guarantees expressed or implied.

I have been a licensed classic car dealer in the same location in Burbank since 1981. California residents are responsible for applicable state sales tax, smog fees and license fees.Vehicle is stored inside in Encino,California and out of state buyers must provide Bill of Lading from shipper. Check my 100% feedback and bid with confidence!

Thanks and Happy bidding! Call (424)-262-2492 or e-mail with any questions.

Chrysler's mysterious limo spotted in trailer for new Wolverine movie

Fri, Oct 21 2016

Way back in the warm, sunny days of June, we reported on a rather strange looking Chrysler-badged limousine spotted during filming for the latest installment in the Wolverine saga. Now, with the first trailer for Logan (or Wolverine 3, if you prefer its informal name) hitting the internet, we're getting another look at the odd limo, along with a few other offerings from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. There's a flock of "Federal Police" Rams and a spinning, bluish-green Rebel – we're guessing Wolverine and Professor Xavier stole it from some kind of work crew – judging by the gold-ish decals on the door and the work box in the bed. Our look at the Chrysler limo isn't great, although it does appear in two scenes of the trailer. We're thinking these shots are connected, and here's why. Our first sighting comes in a cemetery, where the hulking limo sits in the background while Wolverine takes a pull from a pint of liquor. This scene ties in neatly with the images from June – we've embedded the tweet that posted the original shots at the bottom – which shows Wolverine wearing the same clothing. Comparing the shape of the limo's mirrors in June with a later scene in the trailer, we can safely say that Wolverine eventually ends up driving the limo, with a worried Professor Xavier in the backseat. While FCA hasn't been shy about wanting to hook up with Hollywood blockbusters, Logan is quite a lot different than Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, or even Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The tone of this entire trailer, from Johnny Cash's baleful cover of Nine Inch Nails' Hurt to the dire medical condition of Patrick Stewart's Professor Xavier, is depressing and emotional. That's a far cry from the super-successful superhero blockbusters that roll out of Marvel Studios every year. You can spot the exterior of the limo at 0:17, the interior at 1:03 (the scene is cut to make it look like Logan and Professor X are driving the Ram Rebel that appears at 1:02), and the police Rams at 0:48. Aside from the new FCAs, there's also a lovely first-gen Ford Bronco. Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017. This content is hosted by a third party. All hail the Hellephant, Mopar's 1,000-horsepower crate engine

Wed, Oct 31 2018

It's shocking to say this, but the all-powerful Dodge Demon looks weak now that Mopar has unleashed the Hellephant. This crate motor makes 1,000 horsepower and 950 pound-feet of torque, and its name is a combination of the nickname for the old 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8 and, obviously, the Hellcat. This monster is a 426-cubic-inch version of the current third-generation Hemi V8 topped by a supercharger similar to what the Hellcat line packs. Everything is cranked up to — or perhaps, past — 11. The engine block is made of aluminum and weighs 100 pounds less than the equivalent iron block. All of the internals are forged. The stroke and bore have been increased. The supercharger produces 15 pounds of boost and displaces 3 liters; more than the 2.7-liter blower on the Demon and the 2.4-liter blower on the Hellcat. And as big and powerful as it is, it will still rev to 7,000 rpm. It's a thoroughly monstrous motor, but shockingly, it won't be that difficult to live with. For one thing, Mopar will offer a complete kit to get the engine up and running, including an engine computer, wiring harness and drive-by-wire throttle. It also runs on 93-octane pump gas. That's especially amazing considering the Demon engine "only" makes 840 horsepower, and that's on race gas with 100+ octane fuel. It also has us wondering what the Hellephant could make on racing fuel. The Mopar folks did say that there's room to add more power. Pricing wasn't announced for the Hellephant engine. The Hellcat crate engine retails at $19,350 directly from Mopar, so it's safe to assume that the Hellephant will go for more. The installation kit with the computer and harness will be an extra charge of likely over $2,000, based on the Hellcat kit. The engine and the kit will be available in the first quarter of 2019. GM, Ford, Honda winners in 'Car Wars' study as industry growth continues

Wed, May 11 2016

General Motors' plans to aggressively refresh its product lineup will pay off in the next four years with strong market share and sales, according to an influential report released Tuesday. Ford, Honda, and FCA are all poised to show similar gains as the auto industry is expected to remain healthy through the rest of the decade. The Bank of America Merrill Lynch study, called Car Wars, analyzes automakers' future product plans for the next four model years. By 2020, 88 percent of GM's sales will come from newly launched products, which puts it slightly ahead of Ford's 86-percent estimate. Honda (85 percent) and FCA (84 percent) follow. The industry average is 81 percent. Toyota checks in just below the industry average at 79 percent, with Nissan trailing at 76 percent. Car Wars' premise is: automakers that continually launch new products are in a better position to grow sales and market share, while companies that roll out lightly updated models are vulnerable to shifting consumer tastes. Though Detroit and Honda grade out well in the study, many major automakers are clumped together, which means large market-share swings are less likely in the coming years. Bank of America Merrill Lynch predicts the industry will top out with 20 million sales in 2018 and then taper off, perhaps as much as 30 percent by 2026. Not surprisingly, trucks, sport utility vehicles and crossovers will be the key battlefield in the next few years, Car Wars says. FCA will launch a critical salvo in 2018 with a new Ram 1500, followed by new generations of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra in 2019, and then Ford's F-150 for 2020, according to the study. Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst John Murphy said the GM trucks could be pulled ahead even earlier to 2018, prompting Ford to respond. "This focus on crossovers and trucks is a great thing for the industry," Murphy said. Cars Wars looks at Korean (76 percent replacement rate) and European companies more vaguely (70 percent), but argues their slower product cadence and lineups with fewer trucks puts them in weaker positions than their competitors through 2020.
