1964 Chrysler Newport, 4 door sedan, V-8 engine, push button automatic transmission. The mileage shows 48,912. I would say it is 148,912. Car is in really good condition. Engine and transmission work great. Lots of power. Not sure of the size engine. I knew at one point but have forgotten. There is a large tear in the drivers seat. The rest of the seats and headliner, carpet, floor mats, etc are in very good condition as far as I can tell. I bought the car in November 2011 with 48,200 miles showing on the odometer. As you can see I haven't driven it a whole lot. Short trips of about fifty miles or so. I have had no problems with it what-so-ever. Since I have had the car I have I replaced the fuel filter, air filter, changed the oil and oil filter on 12-09-11. Both AMSOIL. Synthetic motor oil. High quality. On 12-11 I replaced the spark plugs, points, condenser, plug wires (Good quality), rotor cap and distributor cap. I also bought 4 Big-O tires, I think the same day. Mileage 48,298. Big-O tire warranty. Includes free balancing and rotation. On 1-30-12 I bought and installed a new temperature sending unit. The old one did not leak, just did not work. Works great now. On 10-19-12 I changed the oil and filter again and replaced both windshield wiper blades. Mileage at the time was 48,872. I also installed a new Wal Mart battery. One ot the better ones. Has store warranty. The am radio works fine, takes a few seconds to warm up. All the lights worked the last time I checked them. I had the brakes checked at one time and the shoes were good, no leakage at the wheel cylinders at that time. That was either late 2011 or early 2012. The car does not get driven very often. I have quite a few and don't have the time to drive them all on a regular basis. I would not be afraid to drive to anywhere in the country in this car. Also, there has been touch-up paint applied in places. I have tried to include these spots in the pictures. The left front hub cap came off the last time I drove the car and I could not find it. I do, however, have a replacement in the trunk. Also in the trunk is a transmission filter and gasket for this car. I never got around to changing it. The transmission pan does not leak to my knowledge. I just wanted to do the preventative maintenance. There are a few small rust spots. Mainly around the wheels. Please check out the pictures. If you have any questions, please ask them and I will try my best to answer them. Also, the radiator looks to be fairly new. The car is sold as is with no warranty or guarantees on my part. Thank you. There is a deposit due at the end of the auction of $250.00. This deposit is non refundable. Balance to be paid in cash when the car is picked up. I have a clear title. I have been as honest and complete as I can be. I have not intentionally ommitted any facts or hidden anything that I deem important.

Chrysler nets $1.6B income in Q4, Fiat profit up 5%

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Chrysler announced its 2013 financial results today and unveiled its new name and decidedly bank-like logo. Amid the announcement, Chrysler posted big gains in income, while Fiat didn't perform to analysts' expectations.
For 2013, Chrysler had revenue of $72.1 billion, up 10 percent from 2012. Net income reached $2.8 billion, a 65-percent increase. It was the company's third straight year of annual profits.
In terms of unit sales, Chrysler sold 2.4 million cars worldwide in 2013, up 9 percent. According to Automotive News, 1.8 million of those vehicles were sold in the US, a 14-percent increase. The sales growth boosted Chrysler's US market share to 11.4 percent, up 0.2 percent.

Fiat Chrysler agrees to new $3.8 billion credit facility with banks

Thu, Mar 26 2020

MILAN — Fiat Chrysler said on Thursday it has agreed a new credit facility with two banks, at a time when major carmakers are having to shut down plants, losing revenue as demand slumps in the wake of the coronavirus. Most of FCA's plants around the world are currently shut in response to the virus emergency. Italian investment firm Exor, which controls FCA, said on Wednesday that the temporary closures might continue and increase depending on how the coronavirus outbreak develops. FCA said the credit facility would be available "for general corporate purposes and for working capital needs" of the group and that it was structured as a "bridge facility" to support its access to capital markets. "This transaction confirms the continued strong support of FCA's international key relationship banks in the current extraordinary circumstances," the automaker said in a statement, without making any explicit link between the new facility and the impact the virus is having on the global economy. The facility can be drawn in a single tranche of 3.5 billion euros ($3.8 billion), with an initial 12-month term which can be extended for further six months. It adds to existing credit facilities worth 7.7 billion euros, including lines for 1.5 billion euros that the company has started to draw down, FCA said. FCA is in merger talks with Peugeot owner PSA to create the world's fourth biggest carmaker. The deal is expected to be finalized by the first quarter of next year. Equita's analyst Martino De Ambroggi said that, based on his new assumption of a 10% drop of global auto market this year, the crisis triggered by the coronavirus would impact the merged automaker's free cash flow by over 5 billion euros. Earlier this week, General Motors announced it will draw about $16 billion from its credit lines in a bid to beef up liquidity amid rising business impact from the fast-spreading coronavirus outbreak. And last week, rival Ford abandoned its 2020 forecast and said it was drawing down $15.4 billion from two credit facilities to bolster its balance sheet. Related Video:

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Convertible

Sat, Apr 20 2019

Chrysler's versatile front-wheel-drive K Platform saved the company from certain doom during the early 1980s, then spawned so many derivatives — including the vehicle that started the minivan revolution — that we can't keep track of all of them. One of the original K-cars was the affordably luxurious 1982 Chrysler LeBaron, which evolved into a snazzy convertible later in the decade. The LeBaron disappeared after 1995, replaced by the Sebring and the Cirrus, and I'm seeing fewer and fewer of these cars during my wrecking-yard explorations. Here's a sporty '91 convertible in a Denver-area yard. The top-of-the-line LeBaron convertible in 1991 was, in fact, badged by Maserati and came only with a Mitsubishi V6. That 141-horse engine was the base powerplant for the '91 LeBaron GTC, though an optional 2.5-liter, 152-horsepower straight-four could be purchased for the LeBaron (but not for the TC By Maserati). The "litre" spelling was considered very classy by Detroit during the 1975-2000 period. Whoever bought this car in the first place must have been a bit of a hell-raiser, because here's the 5-speed manual transmission that became increasingly rare in members of the K-Car family as automatics got cheaper. It also has the driver's-side airbag, which meant that those horrible automatic seat belts that ruined early-1990s cars weren't required. The interior has suffered much fading from the Colorado sun, but it started life as an exquisitely 1980s/1990s Bordello Red palace, all done up in pseudo-velour and hard plastic. Not quite 150,000 miles on the clock. 1992 was the last year for the LeBaron's pop-up headlights. That's just as well, because the mechanisms that opened the "eyelids" tended to get flaky as the years went by. ] This content is hosted by a third party.
