Ok Fuselage fans.... Here is a 1970 2 door Imperial Lebaron fresh from the desert of Oregon. It was an original California car, then spent the rest of its life in Oregon.  The good news is, now it is resting safely in the suburbs of NY about a 1/2 north of Manhattan. The other good news is, if you're from NY, you know how hard it is to get a rust free classic car from here.  The salt and stuff they use on the roads kills these cars. This Imperial has none of the NY issues we deal with on a day to day basis. She is clean from stem to stern.

As said earlier, I rescued this car from the desert along with another one (a 69) which is my project. I can't keep them both. I am going to offer this car up as a no reserve auction. High bidder gets it.

I left the car in as found condition. It will need the brake and fuel system gone through. No biggie, a weekend or two of beers and burgers. You'll get it done easily. The great news is the #'s matching steel crank 440 turns over and fires right up with a little go-go juice poured down the carb. She sounds awesome!!! All the lights work. The A/c does not work but is all there. There is less then 100k on the clock, I just am not sure what the exact mileage is. If you need to know, I can look.

There is some rust on the firewall due to an animal nest....That's it, the rest is clean. I really hope someone fixes it up and allows her to ride again. You never see these on the road anymore, especially on the east coast. This car has no title. Its a registration only deal in NY. If you need it, I can get one through the DMV and its transferable to any state.

I will assist in shipping, but the winner is to arrange it and pay for it. I have no problem in sending this baby overseas. A $500 non refundable deposit is to sent with 48 of auction end.  I encourage you to come and see it. Any questions, email me and I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks for looking at my ad. PS I will have a 71 4 door parts car available as soon as I remove the drivetrain for my 69 2 door. It will be offered to the winner first. Its got a lot of good parts on it.

Chrysler called out over lackluster Ram Runner by racer who helped develop it

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Fans of off-roading and desert blasting might recall that Chrysler offers an aftermarket conversion that can turn a Ram 1500 into a road-legal desert racer, called the Ram Runner. The kit, sold through Mopar, includes some significant suspension upgrades, body tweaks and a brawnier cat-back exhaust for the truck's 5.7-liter V8.
Considering all of this, comparisons with the almighty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor are common. Among the off-road community, that makes these two a sort of Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang for people that prefer driving on dirt. In the Race-Dezert forum, the discussion as to which truck was better was proceeding as normal - Ram fans said their piece and Ford fans said theirs. Then, a man named Kent Kroeker offered up his two cents.
See, Kroeker is a Baja racer, and the man that helped develop the Ram Runner. Despite his association with the truck, though, he had some less than kind words for Chrysler and the Ram Runner.

Fiat to list on New York Stock Exchange?

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

Citing the ever-nebulous "two sources close to Fiat," Reuters is reporting that the Italian automaker and owner of the Chrysler brand is likely to list itself on the New York Stock Exchange. The move could reportedly happen as soon as 2015, marking the end, at least in the minds of investors, of Fiat's 115-year base in Turin, Italy.
The Italian government is not likely to react favorably to Fiat's potential move from Italy to the United States, despite initially positive reactions to Fiat's landmark final purchase of Chrysler, the third-largest automaker in the US. Fiat spent $3.65 billion to buy out the 41.46-percent stake in Chrysler that had been owned by the United Auto Workers' VEBA trust fund.
With little sign of a swift European recovery, Fiat has little choice but to focus on markets outside its traditional home, and a listing in New York could potentially be a boon for investors. According to International Strategy and Investment analyst George Galliers, speaking to Reuters, "People [would be] more likely to think of the entity in the same context as they do Ford and GM" if it were listed on the NYSE.

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
