Condition: Overall good to fair condition. The AC compressor was recently replaced. The car does not have AC. A mechanic recently suggested getting the engine mounts replaced. There is a high-pitched whistling that occurs when it is hot out, this sound comes from the area the fuel pump is located. There is no radio unit. There is a dent in the passenger door but no other major cosmetic damage. The car gets pretty decent gas mileage and for the most part drives well. Features: This is the luxury edition so there are leather seats. Additionally, there power window and locks. The locks grind a little when you lock the doors. History: I purchased the car from my grandparents, who were the original owners. |

Chrysler dealers terminated in bankruptcy still stuck in court
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Part of the deal for the federal bailouts of Chrysler and General Motors was that both organizations were required to trim their vast array of dealerships. This move did not sit well with the people that would be losing out on franchises, though, and in Chrysler's case, 148 of the shuttered dealers have fought for money they feel they are entitled to.
These dealers believe that they should be compensated by the federal government, as Chrysler wouldn't have trimmed its sales centers had it not been ordered to by Uncle Sam. Now, thanks to the ruling of three judges on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the dealers will get a chance to argue their point.
According to Automotive News, the dealers argue that the mandatory shuttering of dealers was unconstitutional, because the federal government was taking property without compensation. If the dealers are victorious, not only would the government be out millions of dollars, but a precedent could be set that would allow similarly closed GM dealerships to cash in.

Chrysler IPO to be filed as early as this week
Mon, 16 Sep 2013An initial public offering for the Chrysler Group could happen this week, following Sergio Marchionne's comments to Financial Times in London, according to a report from The Detroit News. Fiat, which owns 58.5 percent of Chrysler, has been in a battle with the UAW retiree healthcare trust over its minority stake in the company. While the automotive union recognizes its role as a temporary shareholder, the two couldn't come to an agreement on how the shares should be priced.
As Marchionne explained to FT, a Chrysler IPO allows the market, rather than the two competing sides, to determine the value of the shares. The public offering is a risky move, which could potentially hang one side out to dry - if the shares go high, it's bad news for Fiat, but if they go low, the UAW stands to lose. Regardless of where the stock prices go in an IPO, though, it's a move that's being supported by analysts, who are quick to cite Chrysler's near-constant growth and a product lineup that is getting healthier with each new introduction.
