2013 Chevrolet Volt Base Hatchback 4-door 1.4l on 2040-cars
Germantown, Tennessee, United States
|
I bought this 2013 Chevrolet Volt new in October of 2012. It had not been at the Chevrolet dealership long at all and once I acquired it, I have kept it garaged. The miles are currently only 2,576. I drive it in order to keep the cranking battery up and may put a few miles on it showing it but there won’t be many more than that when it is sold. The vehicle has never had any body work or paint work on it and, if you choose to pull one, the car fax will be clean. Since acquiring the vehicle, I have obtained a license as a salesman at a local licensed used car dealer, E-Z Auto, Inc., so that I can sell cars through the dealership on a part time basis. Therefore, there are cars in inventory that are available for me to drive which accounts to a large extent for the low mileage. By selling this car, I will have additional funds available to acquire other cars for inventory since we are allowed to acquire our own vehicles for sale at the dealership. This car will be sold through E-Z Auto which should give you some comfort since the business is licensed and regulated by the State of Tennessee. Also, we can take trades, if you have one, and get you a drive-out tag. There will be no document or administrative fee. I will take care of that myself. If you live in Tennessee, you will have to pay sales tax but if you live in any other state, you will pay any sales tax due in your state when you register the car. The volt stickered for $43,030. In addition to the array of standard equipment, it has the premium package, consisting of leather seats, heated front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and rear removable armrest. It has enhanced safety package 1 which consists of auto dimming rear view mirror, rear park assist and rear vision camera. The Volt is also equipped with the Bose premium speakers and a cargo net. This vehicle is smoke-free and has never had food or beverages of any kind in it. There haven’t even been any passengers in the car and no pets, either. The only imperfection on the car at all is a small place on the top that was caused by a knot falling out of an oak tree onto the top while I was waiting at a red light. I tried to get it in a picture, but it is so small that I can’t get it to show up. The paint is totally undamaged. EPA states that a charge will provide enough electrical energy to drive the car up to 38 miles. I have never gotten that little. If you look at the picture of the instrument panel, you will see that it will show you the amount of miles that you can expect from it vehicle when it is charged and it is showing 51 miles. This is based on the most recent result. My driving has been entirely city driving and I generally get between 48 and 53 miles on a charge. I drive it as is recommended. To get that result, you will have to do the same. That requires some discipline because the car handles almost sports car like and is quite fast if you choose to accelerate quickly. Volts are probably the most misunderstood vehicles on the market today. When the electrical charge is used up, the vehicle will NOT leave you stranded. Instead, a motor comes on seamlessly and begins to operate a generator which continues to supply power to the electric motor which propels the car. In that mode, the vehicle delivers an EPA estimated mileage of 35 to 4o mpg. You can drive the car as far as you wish in that mode as long as you keep gas in it. Sabine Schmitz to compete in WTCC race at Nurburgring, hopes for rain
Fri, Apr 10 2015The World Touring Car Championship is set to return to the Nurburgring this year after a 30-year absence. Who better, then, to lead the pack than Sabine Schmitz? One of the most skilled drivers around the Norschleife, 45-year-old Schmitz has been known to compete in the VLN series and in the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring (which she's won twice), and regularly drives tourists on hot laps around the Green Hell. Nobody can drive the circuit better than Schmitz when the rain starts to fall, and fall it often does in the German spring, but she'll have a new challenge on her hands when she makes her WTCC debut in a Chevy Cruze for the Munnich Motorsport team for the German round next month. It'll be interesting to see how Sabine does in the race, given that she has no experience with the vehicle she'll be driving, but has immense knowledge of the notoriously difficult track. She'll have the chance to acclimate a little during the WTCC test session at the 'Ring later this month, and hopes to compete in one of the two races – in Morocco or Hungary – before tackling her home track in unfamiliar machinery. The 2021 F-150 elevates Ford's bed game
Fri, Jun 26 2020The new 2021 Ford F-150 is ushering in a new era of pickup capability, but there's more to it than the introduction of the PowerBoost hybrid. While that new powertrain is certainly the truck's headlining element, the supporting electrical architecture enables a level of utility that hasn't been offered in past consumer half-tons. The true party trick is Ford's new "Pro Power Onboard" feature, which is essentially a built-in generator that provides juice for the 2021 F-150's rather robust in-bed power station. This system is available even on gasoline-engine models, but its utility is maximized with the electrified powertrain. ICE models equipped with the option max out at 2.0 kilowatts, while the PowerBoost hybrid can be had with either a 2.4- or a whopping 7.2-kilowatt inverter. The idea here is that the F-150 can essentially stand in for a high-output portable generator. In a worksite example provided by Ford, a PowerBoost model with the 7.2-kW upgrade and a single tank of fuel could provide 32 hours of power for an 1,800-watt compound miter saw, a 1,000W circular saw, a 1,200W battery charger, a 1,200W hammer drill, and a 1,000W air compressor with hundreds of watts to spare for lighting and other accessories. But even without the Pro Power Onboard option, Ford's new bed setup enables more versatility than in previous models. The new Tailgate Work Surface option adds a flat work area with integrated rulers, recesses for pencils or small tools, and even a stand for a personal device. Ford is neither the first to offer an auxiliary power outlet in a half-ton pickup bed, nor was Ford the first to introduce a more feature-rich tailgate. GMC's MultiPro tailgate was a major innovation on that front, and while it is geared mostly toward improving the cargo utility of the bed, it can also be customized with 12-volt power and even an accessory speaker system. The Ram 1500 is also offered with both a multi-function tailgate and AC power in the bed, though the latter option is limited to models with the RamBox cargo package. As half-ton pickups approach levels of towing and hauling capability that begin to blur lines with heavy-duty offerings, it's clear that automakers are looking for ways to differentiate themselves without stepping on their own bigger trucks' toes. These new bed and tailgate innovations may yet be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to full-size pickup versatility. Related Video:  Â
Recharge Wrap-up: EVs poll well in Portland, Tesla seeks office space
Tue, Aug 5 2014In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry.
