This is a very solid 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe four door four wheel drive LT. It has the Easy Rider package which includes custom wheels, full fiberglass running boards with fender flairs, true dual exhaust (exits at rear) and tow package. Leather interior front and rear. Full carpet front to rear. Barn door style rear doors. Luggage rack. Rear spoiler (rear window deflector). Window vent shades front and rear. Power drivers seat with lumbar on it and the passengers seat. Leather seats front and rear. This was a southern car with NO rust. When I bought it I undercoated (rust proofed) front to rear including rocker panels, doors, wheel wells, and front fenders as well as the underbody. I switched jobs (was a contractor) and sold my van to buy this. That job didn't work out, so I bought a truck (and went back to contracting) and my wife has driven this for the past couple years to replace her rusted out Jimmy. She wanted to get back to something smaller so we got a Envoy, so now we have no more use for this. Great car. I just had the front rotors replaced (rear brakes are less than a year old) and it's been fully detailed. Fully functional and ready to go. I has good Michelin tires all around with highway tread. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Very first Chevy Camaro found and restored

Restoring an important classic car can lead people down rabbit hole upon rabbit hole of discovered history in a process that's essentially automotive genealogy. Take the recent rejuvenation of the very first Chevrolet Camaro as an example. The owners started with a strong hunch that the vehicle might be something special and spent years researching to figure it all out before the mechanical work even began. Fisher Body kicked off work on the first Camaro on May 17, 1966, and it was delivered to General Motors just a few days later for final assembly. While the model has earned a place as an American performance icon since then, the original was built more to develop the production process and boasted just a 230-cubic-inch (3.8-liter) inline six and 3-speed transmission. After spending its first few months appearing in promotions, a Chevy dealer in Oklahoma got the gold car in December of '66. It was touted on the sales floor there for years, and the first private owner didn't come until 1969. This short documentary goes into astonishingly comprehensive detail about every bit of the first Camaro's history.
