1996 Chevy Tahoe Lt 4x4 Please Read Description!!! on 2040-cars
Louisville, Kentucky, United States
I had this listed for a 7 day auction and someone clicked the buy now and contacted me to tell me they clicked buynow by mistake and I had 25 watchers and could have sold this but for this person that did this cost me a listing fee which I was credited. Please make sure you want this before you click the buynow button. I purchased this Tahoe around June 2013 to pull my boat to the lake every week and I put a new oil filter, changed the oil, flushed the radiator, new thermostat, new air compressor, and a new battery and I thought I was ready, but there is a miss at idle and did not know what or how to fix it, so I decided to sell it because I'm disabled and cant afford to fix it. I was told it may need a sensor or a tune up. When at idle it misses and at full speed it runs great. I had listed this on ebay and when someone came and checked it out, they found that it may have a head gasket bad on it and this is why it misses. I don't think it is leaking in the oil but in the chamber which is causing the miss. I was told it would cost around 250 to fix yourself. After hearing this I ended the auction and relisted it. Everything on this Tahoe works but the tack in the dash and a back door panel is off but I have it. The compressor I put on needs the back switch put in and I have that and this is what turns on the air conditioner. There is normal wear from age and use with some discoloring and the hood is peeled. This Tahoe could use a good cleaning. I hope you can see the pictures alright but please ask questions if you need to. The tires are not the best but usable... The way we found that it may be a head gasket is because the water was not circulating as good as it should be but it never ran hot.... Now after I listed this Tahoe with the head gasket problem, I also had this in my front yard with a forsale sign on it, than a guy going to work had hit a dear and lost control and took out our mailbox and hit the Tahoe on the passenger side fender doing some damage to the right fender, grill, and bumper, so again I had to end this auction pending the insurance taking care of this and it took awhile for them to settle. I have a video of it starting. http://youtu.be/d96OUt8Gx2A I dropped the price down to $1295 because of this Tahoe needing work and so many miles...Your welcome to come and see this anytime if your in this area...Mitchell Hill Rd Fairdale, Ky, 502-276-3592 Do not buy before you come and check it out, I prefer that you are happy with it before you buy. I will not ship and a local pickup only. There is a motor vehicle transfer place right down the road and must be transferred there during their business hours from 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday and it may be opened Sat, I'm not sure. I'm a trading man and if you want this much cheaper, let me know what you got, I'm into fishing, and hunting so if you got anything in these fields lets talk... Selling as is so buy at your own risk...There will be no refund on this Tahoe, so check it out to make sure you want it... Ask questions before you offer or purchase because selling as is with no refund..... |

Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt
Sun, May 11 2014It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
Chevrolet considering midsize crossover to slot between Traverse and Equinox
Mon, Jan 9 2017Crossovers are the new hotness, and automakers are looking to cash in by offering a size and shape for every customer. With Chevrolet's debut of the new 2018 Traverse in Detroit, which grew ever so slightly compared to the first-generation model, there is now a midsize-crossover-sized hole between the three-row Traverse and the compact Equinox. When asked about that obvious space, a Chevrolet spokesperson told us the company is looking into the possibility of expanding its crossover lineup. It should be a relatively simple thing to do, since all it would take is reskinning and rechristening the GMC Acadia with a bow tie, and we all know how much GM loves platform sharing. Although they're now different sizes, the new Acadia and Traverse still use the same platform; the Acadia is now on a short-wheelbase version of the C1XX while the Traverse uses long-wheelbase C1XX parts. A short-wheelbase Chevy built on the C1XX likely would be differentiated visually from both the Acadia and the larger Traverse. It may seem like flooding the lineup with more and more models would cannibalize sales of existing ones, but Chevrolet said it would rather have customers stay within the brand rather than going to another automaker. There have been whispers that some form of the Blazer name (possibly TrailBlazer) may make a return on a midsizer, but if it does don't expect an old-school body-on-frame SUV like the old one. In the end, if Chevy builds it, customers will come. Related Video:
GM laying off more than 4,000 workers Monday morning
Sat, Feb 2 2019According to reports from Automotive News, The Detroit News, and CNN, General Motors plans to begin laying off more than 4,000 salaried workers starting Monday morning. In a statement to AN, a spokesperson for the automaker said, "We are not confirming timing. Our employees are our priority. We will communicate with them first." We've been expecting layoffs at General Motors since November, 2018. At the time, the Detroit-based automaker announced it would seek to shed 8,100 salaried employees, shut down five assembly plants in North America, and kill off several slow-selling models. One month earlier, GM offered buyout packages to 18,000 workers and said it would seek to cut its global workforce by 25 percent. A spokesperson said at the time the moves were "proactive steps to get ahead of the curve by accelerating our efforts to address overall business performance." The cost-cutting moves are expected to save GM up to $2.5 billion in 2019 and as much as $6 billion by 2020. David Kudla, CEO and chief investment strategist of Mainstay Capital Management, referred to the impending culling as "Black Monday" and told The Detroit News that the layoffs would begin around 7:30 a.m. and continue in waves throughout the coming days and weeks. GM plans to deliver on its fourth-quarter and full-year 2018 earnings report on Wednesday. President Donald Trump plans to deliver the annual State of the Union address a day earlier on Tuesday. We expect to hear plenty more from both sides over the next several days.
