2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, Duramax turbo-charged diesel, Allison 6-speed automatic transmission, shift on the fly 4x4, LT equipment package, Short box, Power windows and door locks, Power driver's seat, Heated power towing mirrors, Dual-zone climate control, Remote start option with keyless entry, Chrome bumpers as well as end caps, Chrome nerf step bars, Chrome fender trim, Z71 package with locking rear differential and skid plate protection, Locking easy-lift tailgate.

This will be the nicest 08 Duramax 4x4 you'll be able to look at for this kind of money anywhere. Owned by a sales rep, this truck was on the road daily and has a few miles, but was well-cared for and it shows. Starts, runs, drives absolutely as it should. Motor is quiet and smooth, whether hot or cold. Has all the power you can ask for, and shows no blow-by, leaks or any other signs of wear. Transmission and transfer case shift out perfectly. Front end is very tight, holds the road and goes right where you point it, loaded or empty. Never had any type of hitch in the bed. Only mechanical thing I know of whatsoever is that the tire pressure sensors have been removed. Otherwise, I don't know of a single thing. Cold a/c, hot heat, all interior functions work exactly as they should.

Condition-wise, this truck is straight as possible. Other than a single scratch pictured on the lower bedside, it's hard to find as much as a door ding anywhere on this truck. Paint is in great condition, still got a deep shine and great color. Underside and bed are both clean and well-cared for. Does have a spray-in type bed liner.  Engine compartment is clean and neat. All components are factory-style, has great batteries and clean oil. Interior is in well above average condition for the most part. Seats are very clean and well-maintained. One wear spot on driver's seat is being repaired at the moment. Carpets are clean and without stains, have a hole under the mat where the driver's shoe wore through the carpet, but otherwise near perfect.

Anyone who'd like to come take a look or has any questions about this truck is welcome to give me a call at 501-467-0893. It is a used truck and will have a minor imperfection here or there, however I do my absolute best to describe fully and accurately anything listed here, and I'll say this is a VERY nice pickup. Inspection is welcome, if you arrive here and don't feel it is as described, you don't own it. Simple as that. Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early, until auction reserve has been met, at which point auction will go to the finish. Any questions are welcome, however please don't call just to ask the reserve price. Fair offers will be considered, otherwise lets bid and see where it ends up. Good Luck

Seized drug dealer's Corvette Z06 joins Texas police fleet

Tue, Sep 22 2015

A police department in Texas caused a stir after they posted pictures of their hot new ride on social media last week. This 2007 Corvette Z06 with dark-tinted windows once belonged to a drug dealer, but was seized in a DEA raid. The feds awarded the Corvette to the New Braunfels Police Department for their help in bringing down the drug distribution ring in the area. When police posted images of the car on their Facebook page, some followers were angry that tax dollars were spent on such an extravagant car. New Braunfels PD were quick to defend themselves. "To be clear, this vehicle was awarded to NBPD as part of an asset distribution from the Federal DEA criminal case of a large drug distribution ring in our area," the New Braunfels PD wrote on their Facebook page. "NBPD was instrumental in helping bring down that drug enterprise. Property seized during the course of an investigation is only awarded to the law enforcement agency after a court has determined that the suspect was involved in criminal activity and the proceeds (money) from that activity (i.e dealing drugs) paid for the items seized. Therefore, no property is given to a law enforcement agency prior to the investigation being completed and tried in a court of law." With a 505 horsepower V8 engine this murdered-out Corvette could outrun most speeders and getaway drivers. As is often the case in instances such as this, however, the 'Vette will be used in community outreach programs rather than as an active-duty cruiser. The department is currently holding a contest asking kids between 8 and 16 years old to find a name for the sports car. Currently, the most liked name is 'Optimus Crime'. A final winner will be chosen by the department on September 22. The kid who picks the name will earn bragging rights, plus a ride in the Corvette when its unveiled at the Comal County Fair Parade this weekend. Related Video:

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

The future's electric — but the present is peak gasoline. Burn some rubber! Do donuts!

Wed, Jun 23 2021

I vividly remember the year 1993 as a teenager looking forward to getting my driver’s license, longingly staring into Pontiac dealerships at every opportunity for a chance to see the brand-new fourth-generation Firebird and Trans Am. Back then, 275 horsepower, courtesy of GMÂ’s LT1 5.7-liter V8 engine, was breathtaking. A few years later, when Ram Air induction systems freed up enough fresh air to boost power over 300 ponies, I figured we were right back where my fatherÂ’s generation left off when the seminal muscle car era ended around the year 1974. It couldn't get any better than that. I was wrong. Horsepower continued climbing, prices remained within reach of the average new-car buyer looking for cheap performance, and a whole new level of muscular magnitude continued widening eyes of automotive enthusiasts all across the United States. It was all ushered in by cheap gasoline prices. And as much as petrolheads bemoan the coming wave of electric vehicles, perhaps instead now would be a good time for critics to sit back and enjoy the current and likely final wave of internal combustion. Today, itÂ’s easier than ever to park an overpowered rear-wheel-drive super coupe or sedan in your driveway. Your nearest Chevy dealership will happily sell you a Camaro with as much as 650 horsepower. Not enough? Take a gander at the Ford showroom and youÂ’ll find a herd of Mustangs up to 760 ponies. Or if nothing but the most powerful will do, waltz on over to the truly combustion-obsessed sales team of a Dodge dealer and relish in the glory of a 797-hp Charger or 807-hp Challenger. Want some more luxury to go with your overgrown stable of horses? Try Cadillac, where you'll find a 668-horsepower CT5-V Blackwing. You could instead choose to wrap that huffin' and chuggin' V8 in an SUV. Or go really off the rails and buy a Ram TRX or Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 and hit the dunes after a quick stop at the drag strip. Go pump some gas. Burn a little rubber. Do donuts! There is nothing but your pocketbook keeping you from buying the V8-powered car of your dreams. Yes, just about every major automaker in the world has halted development of future internal combustion engines in favor of gaining expertise in batteries and electric motors. No, that doesnÂ’t mean that gasoline is going extinct. There are going to be gas stations dotting American cities and highways for the rest of our lifetimes.
