2003 Chevrolet Silverado Ls Extended Cab 4 Door Long Wheel Base Truck..low Miles on 2040-cars
Marion, Arkansas, United States
|
This is a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado LS extended cab 4 door long wheel base truck. It has had 2 owners and has low verified miles of 133488. The motor is the 5.3 liter V8 vortec and it has an automatic transmission. The motor runs very smoothly with no issues , no smoke, and it uses no oil and has no oil leaks. The automatic transmission shifts out as it should. I had a lot of new front end parts put on about a year and 1/2 ago…new bearings, brakes, tie rod ends, etc and also it has a new set of matching Firestone white letter tires that have 5-6k miles on them. This truck runs and drives excellent with no issues at all…it will surprise you at how nice and smooth it runs and drives. This is a very clean truck…it’s not new or perfect but its way above average as far as the cosmetics go. The interior is clean and has no major damage other than you normal wear and tear of a vehicle that is 11 years old now. All the electronics work…except for the passenger side window doesn’t roll down….it needs a new motor (less than 40.00 here on eBay)…I just never used it so it didn’t bother me. The air conditioner blows very cold and the heat will run you out in the winter. Power windows, power door locks, electric driver’s seat, tilt, cruise, cd player…..all these work fine as do the remote door lock fobs. This truck also has the towing package (light hook ups, hitch, receiver, etc). The exterior is in good shape with the exception of 3 things: A strong wind caught the driver’s door and bent it back too far and dented the front fender and door in the seams …nothing huge and not real noticeable…estimate was 750.00 to repair the dents and fix the wind noise but it didn’t bother me that bad and isn’t much of an eye sore. Then there is a dent on the back passenger side fender…down low….hardly noticeable…and a couple of scratches (not dents) on the passenger side where I got too close to my trash can…these may buff out…I haven’t tried…they aren’t bad and definitely not dents..just scratches. I have included pics of all 3 of these small issues. This truck is in way above average condition for the year model and is a very good and strong truck. Kelly Blue Book says the private party value in “good” condition is $7346.00 and the trade/wholesale value in “good” condition is $5617.00. I am putting a Buy It Now price on it of $5500.00 which is below dealer trade/wholesale so that’s a great bargain. I will give the option of “offers” but be fair and sensible with your offers..it’s worth more than the $5500.00…you’ll be very pleased when you see and drive it. You must pick this up in Marion, AR or I will help any way possible with a shipping company…they can drive right to the front door where it is located…easy in and out access. I want a 2000.00 deposit within 24 hours and the balance within 3 days (if you are shipping it there is no hurry for the transport truck..just so it’s picked up as soon as you can arrange it…however full payment must be made within the 3 days. The title is clear and the “carcheck” (provided here on this auction, is clean with no accidents, no floods, no title issues, no mileage issues etc etc…it’s just a very good, clean used truck with a lot of life left!!! This is my son’s truck and the title is in his name and he lives with me and the title is here in the safe! Please don’t hesitate to email with any questions/concerns you have.....we’ll respond quickly with an honest answer!! Thanks!! NOTICE!!! We have described this truck and shown true pictures to the best of our knowledge but as with any used vehicle there is NO WARRANTIES and it's being sold AS IS. |

Made in America | These cars top the most-American list
Mon, Dec 5 2022The car with the most American/Canadian content for 2022 is ... cue the drumroll ... the Lincoln Corsair, in both standard gasoline-fueled and plug-in hybrid guise. Both versions of Lincoln's compact luxury crossover earned a score of 86 — due to 72% of its parts coming from one of the two aforementioned countries — in the American University Kogod Business School's annual "Made in America Auto Index." Last year's leader, the 2021 Ford Mustang GT (when equipped with a manual transmission) fell all the way to 22nd place with a 50% rating due to a switch in transmissions sourced from Mexico. In case you're interested, that puts Ford's red-blooded American ponycar below vehicles like the Kia Sorento, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class SUV and Lexus ES. If you're wondering how an American car that's assembled within the borders of the United States could rank below a model from a Korean, German or Japanese automaker, well, we'll let Kogod explain: "The components of the index are based on research performed by the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor Michigan regarding the economic value of different components of auto manufacturing. For example, the highest ranked cars are made by U.S.-based manufacturers using American engines and transmissions, and with a high AALA percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts." There are 25 total vehicles listed in the Top 10 (there are lots of ties this year). Here's the full list: (1) Lincoln Corsair: 86 (1) Lincoln Corsair PHEV: 86 (2) Tesla Model 3 Long Range: 82.5 (3) Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray: 81 (4) Chevrolet Colorado: 80.5 (5) Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4: 80 (5) Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk: 80 (5) Tesla Model 3 Performance: 80 (5) Tesla Model Y: 80 (6) Dodge Durango Citadel: 79.5 (6) Dodge Durango Blacktop AWD: 79.5 (7) Honda Passport Trailsport: 78.5 (8) Ford F-150 2.7L, 3.3L, 5.0L: 77.5 (8) Ford Ranger: 77.5 (8) Ford Bronco automatic: 77.5 (8) Tesla Model S: 77.5 (8) Tesla Model X: 77.5 (9) Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6L: 77 (9) Jeep Grand Cherokee L LTD: 77 (9) Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 3.6L: 77 (9) Chevrolet Camaro automatic: 77 (10) Honda Odyssey: 76 (10) Honda Ridgeline: 76 (10) Honda Pilot: 76 There's a whole long list of reasons for the above scores, with seven criteria that include factory location, headquarters location and where its various bits and pieces come from.
Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty
Mon, Jan 26 2015Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.
Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
