Purchased vehicle non-running several years ago. Finally got it running Dec 2012, Drove it until June 19, 2013 putting approximately 3500 miles on it. Coming home, hit a bump and registered a ground fault and the truck stopped running. I have been searching for the ground fault since then and knowing nothing about electricity cannot find it.
Truck is powered by 52 lead acid batteries through a Hughes Dolphin controller driving a 50KW AC motor. Top speed is governed by computer at 80 mph. Sale also includes laptop with serial port/cable and software for diagnostics and setting parameters for system.
The batteries are 52 lead acid GEL sealed batteries 26 installed in Dec 2012 and 26 more added 2/1/13. Range before the ground fault was approximately 60 miles, however the most I ever drove it on one charge was 72 miles and it was starting to slow down as I pulled onto my home street. After getting the truck running, I had the body redone and repainted so there are no scratches, chips, dents or dings and as an after thought two yellow and blue stripes were added. ( see pictures) Specs on the truck as it was built in 1994 can be seen here. (http://uselectricar.com/Truck.html)
The truck is available with all the parts I have accumulated, manuals and a tilt kit that I never had time to install that would allow the truck bed to tilt up for easy access to the battery box. I also am including two wall mounted Magnechargers for 220 volt charging. Before the ground fault both Magnechargers worked and also there is a 110 port that works.
The ground fault is the key. If you can find the fault, the truck is a great vehicle to drive around town. Email me with any questions. Shipping is buyers responsibility. Will assist with arranging pickup times.

2015 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra recalled for steering issues
Thu, Sep 13 2018DETROIT — General Motors Co is recalling more than 1 million pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles in the United States due to issues with a temporary loss of power steering, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. The recall is for 2015 models. They are: the Chevy Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon and Yukon XL and Cadillac Escalade. The problem may cause difficulty steering the vehicle, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash, the auto safety regulator said in a document dated Sept. 12. The document did not highlight any reports of accidents and injuries, because of the power steering issue. GM dealers will update the power steering module software, free of charge for owners of the affected vehicles. In 2014, the No.1 U.S. automaker had recalled nearly 800,000 pickup trucks worldwide because of the same problem. GM did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Related Video:
MotorWeek Retro Review revisits 1984 Corvette
Thu, Oct 1 2015MotorWeek's Retro Reviews are always a great glimpse into the cars of yesteryear. However, the newly uploaded look back at the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette is an absolute treasure trove for any auto history buff. This is a full episode of the show from the '80s, and it's dedicated to all of the details about the newest 'Vette to hit the market at the time. Beyond just the usual drive and an in-depth walk around, one of the major highlights here is a brief look at some on the concepts that eventually resulted in the fourth-generation Corvette of 1984. The C4's shape harkens back to sketches from 1978, and there even shots of early clay models that led the way for the design. MotorWeek also takes a tour through the Bowling Green, KY, factory for a detailed inspection of the entire production process. John Davis repeatedly calls the Corvette "the plastic fantastic" during the episode, and he can't find too much negative to say about being behind the wheel of the then-new coupe. See how it stands up to your own memories in the clip above.
Brief website update hints 2016 Chevy Volt will get 43 mpg, 106 MPGe
Sun, Jun 14 2015Customers in California can already order the 2016 Chevrolet Volt and be the first to own the new, range-extended EV in August. It appears there's now a possibility that buyers of the updated model might get slightly better economy than Chevy's initial announcement from the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in January, too. According to the eagle-eyed folks at GM-Volt.com, Chevy has been subtly tweaking the spec page for the 2016 Volt. It briefly showed the model getting 43 miles per gallon combined fuel economy and 106 mpge, rather than the originally released figures of 41 mpg and 102 mpge. Shortly afterward, the internal-combustion mileage returned to 41 mpg, but 106 mpge remained. A GM spokesperson told Hybrid Cars the changes happened by mistake. "We have not finalized numbers yet. We expect to announce in July." The economy isn't the only statistic to see an adjustment, though. The total range was reportedly briefly shown as 420 miles, and then returned to a 430-mile rating, according to Hybrid Cars. The Volt's output has also been slightly tweaked from the original figures. It's now displayed as 150 horsepower and 293 pound-feet of torque, versus the preliminary numbers of 149 hp and 294 lb-ft. These tiny changes likely have a negligible impact on real-world driving, but they suggest that Chevy's team is still working to squeeze as much as possible from the latest Volt's powertrain. If the final figures are coming in July, then the engineers still have just a few weeks to improve the ratings even more.
