1999 Chevy S10 Ls 4x4 4.3 V6 Extended Cab Black No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Trumbull, Connecticut, United States
No Reserve! 1999 Chevy S10 LS 4x4 4.3 Auto, extended cab, I am the original owner. Even though the history report says 2 owners, I leased it for 2 years then bought it. 157,753 miles. Hard start, idles ok but runs rough and usually stalls when trying to take off and not sure why. Seems like a misfire problem. It does need a tune up. The front distributor cap screw hole tab broke and so there is a nut and bolt holding it together. Was looking into buying a new distributor before this happened. Haven't driven it since the problem started in Sept. 2013. Haven't had the money to get it fixed so off it goes to someone that can. See short video of the engine running, camera ran out of memory. Go to youtube.com and paste b5uV-AZuPT4 Original engine, was running great and was my daily driver before the issue, no knocks. Engine has oil leak(s) but nothing major. AC compressor is gone. The transmission was replaced. I know the tranny leaks and from memory I think the tranny started slipping some between 2-3 shift, maybe low fluid. Original paint, not perfect but shines nice No accidents or dents ever Some minor dings and scratches Would be a very easy repaint if desired Drivers side has a long scratch in the door and goes into the extended cab area, key job I assume, I filled it and buffed it the best I could but not great at it and it is visible. The only mentionable surface rust on the body is a 3" area from about a small fold I had to make behind the passenger front wheel at the bottom corner of the fender when I bought larger tires 10 years ago and another smaller spot behind that. The tires on now are closer to stock size, All Terrain Firestones in great condition with 70% tread or so. Jack and spare tire never used. The bed liner has been on since new. Tailgate works perfect. Rear bumper has some good scratches in the plastic hitch area and some minor rust around the license plate lights. I took the "chrome" wheel well moldings off the day I bought the truck to prevent rust and threw them away. Plus I think it looks better without them. 4x4 works. Original exhaust, barely a leak. Original wheels. Original windshield, cracked across and needs replacing. The interior is in good condition, no major issues, driver seat has tiny wear out spot just starting, original working stereo/CD, all lights blown in stereo. Was smoked in until 2 years ago, doesn't really smell anymore. The fan speed switch only works on 3. The flip handles for both seats broke off, common problem can still flip seats with other lever. Have them in center console. Power windows, locks and mirrors work, heated mirrors work. Needs new brakes. Hit a rock a long time ago and put a little dent in the front of the drivers side frame rail and it bent the tow hook up a little. The fuel pump was replaced years ago and since then a full tank reads 7/8 full. *The information provided is what I knew of in Sept. 2013. I cannot be responsible for any unknown issues that may have arisen since being off the road. Comes with 2 original keys and key fobs that need batteries. All photos and video were taken on 3/8/14. I only did a quick rinse before taking photos because it was too cold so the truck needs a good wash and wax. I have the title in my hand No Warranty Inspections welcome This vehicle would need to be towed/shipped. $500.00 Deposit within 48 hours of auction end. |

2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon recalled for opening console lids
Mon, Dec 28 2015The Basics: General Motors is recalling 9,200 examples of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with build dates between August 25, 2015 and September 24, 2015, and the 2016 GMC Canyon manufactured from August 28, 2015 to September 24, 2015. In total, 8,763 of these pickups are in the US, and the rest are in Canada or Mexico. The Problem: The console compartment lid could open in a crash, and the items inside the storage compartment might hit occupants during the accident. This fault puts the pickups out of compliance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The fix: Dealers will replace the console compartment door latch assembly with an improved part. If you own one: GM has not yet told NHTSA when the repairs for these pickups begin. Related Video: RECALL Subject : Console Door may not Fully Latch/FMVSS 201 Report Receipt Date: DEC 01, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V807000 Component(s): LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES Potential Number of Units Affected: 8,763 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle MakeModelModel Year(s) CHEVROLET COLORADO 2016 GMC CANYON 2016 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Colorado trucks manufactured August 25, 2015 to September 24, 2015, and GMC Canyon trucks manufactured August 28, 2015 to September 24, 2015. The affected vehicles have a console compartment lid latch assembly that may fail to keep the compartment door closed in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact." CONSEQUENCE: If the console compartment door does not remain closed in a crash, the contents stored in the console may strike the vehicle occupants, increasing their risk of injury. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the console compartment door latch assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 16370. Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country
Wed, 09 Apr 2014It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)
Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt named KBB "Best Buy," slow BMW i3 sales in Germany
Wed, Nov 19 2014The Chevrolet Volt has been awarded Kelley Blue Book's Electric/Hybrid Car Best Buy for 2015. KBB cited the car's electric commuter capabilities, extended range, acceleration, design and overall value as reasons to place it above the Nissan Leaf, BMW i3 and Toyota Prius. It works well in the real world, and doesn't leave drivers with range anxiety. Plus, it's comfortable, and a fun car to drive, according to KBB. Read more at Kelley Blue Book. The BMW i3 is seeing slow sales in Germany. BMW has sold about half the number of i3s it expected in its home country, with about 1,900 sold in the first nine months. BMW projected sales of 5,000 to 6,000 in the first year. BMW partly blames long shipping times for the slow sales, and the company is offering incentives in hopes of getting more people to adopt the electric car. In the US, BMW sold more than 1,000 units each month between August and October. Read more at Green Car Reports. Audi is pursuing new carbon-neutral synthetic fuels - or e-fuels - such as Audi e-diesel. Audi's newest project uses electrolysis of water to create hydrogen, which it then reacts with CO2 extracted from the air. The result is a liquid - called Blue Crude - full of energy from hydrocarbon compounds. The Blue Crude can then be converted into a sulfur-free synthetic diesel called e-diesel. This e-diesel can be used as a drop-in fuel, blended into fossil diesel for a more renewable fuel. Read more at Hybrid Cars. Uber is partnering with Spotify to allow passengers to choose what music they listen to during their ride. Users will be able to choose their own playlist that will be ready and playing for them when they are picked up. It offers a more personalized experience from the ride-hailing service, which, according to Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, is "nirvana" for music lovers. Paying Spotify users will be able to use the feature initially in London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Toronto.
