You are looking at a nice example of a 95 Chevrolet S-10 ZR-2 off road edition. These trucks come with awesome ground clearance and a mean stance due to the factory lift and suspension package. This one appears to have been cared for and not abused like most of these were. These are a rare find and almost impossible in this condition. I am selling this for a friend, so bare with me, I'll describe it to the best of my ability. Below is a brief description:

Exterior: The body on this one is really nice, the only rust anywhere is a few microscopic bubbles on the passenger cab corner, other than that, just a few small dings. Underneath is clean and dry, doesn't appear to have been off road. Red paint appears to be original and still shines awesome. Really, to be a 20 year old truck it's a must see in person to believe the condition. Flares and all trim is good and not faded much or tarnished. Inside of bed is Rhino-lined. Nothing needs to be done to the exterior in my opinion to be the one of the sharpest ZR-2s you'll find.

Interior: Inside is the nice charcoal gray cloth bucket seat-console which comes factory in the ZR-2s. All the goodies, power windows, locks, cruise, mirrors, etc. Everything works inside except the driver's window skips like it may need a regulator. Dash is nice, carpet is also. Small seam pulling apart in the driver's seat, which will be repaired before sale. Again, insides are super nice.

Drivetrain: I won't get into all the ZR-2 specifics, like the skid plate, shocks, suspension etc. because if you are looking for one of these trucks then you already know the ins and outs about the package. This one comes with the legendary 4.3 liter vortec v6. I don't think I need to explain how dependable and how all around this is probably the best v6 every made. Plenty of power, decent gas mileage, and a long life span that is rarely matched in any 6 cyclinder. Automatic overdrive performs flawlessly. New heater core recently done, a/c is ice cold also. Flowmaster exhaust. Brand new set of high dollar BFG 32/11/50 tires with almost 0 miles on them. Just serviced, inspected and ready to ride. Anti-lock brake light flashes sometimes, as most Chevrolet's due, but brakes work as they should.

In closing you will be hard pressed to find the caliber of this truck for the money or the year model. I see trucks a few years old that are not nearly as nice as this one at 20 years of age. Don't hesitate to make a serious offer on this vehicle, as I tell everyone in my ads, my auctions almost always end early with someone making me a serious offer. I reserve the right to end the auction and sell it at any time as my friend has this one for sale local. Check my feedback, everyone is always more than satisfied with my descriptions and I've sold vehicle to people all over the U.S. sight unseen with no problems. If you have a feedback score of 10 or less, or a negative rating, please contact me before bidding or it will be canceled. Sorry, have had alot of problems in this area and these ads are way expensive to be playing around with non-paying bidders. With all that said, thanks so much for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and I will get you an answer from the owner a.s.a.p. Take care.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.

Hagerty kicks back with Ringbrothers for a look at the Recoil

Sat, May 2 2015

Over the years, Ringbrothers has shown the ability to mix a meticulous eye for style and serious amounts of horsepower with customs like the Pantera-based Adrnln. The company's recent project, a tuned 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle called Recoil, is some of its best work yet and already has Jay Leno's denim-clad stamp of approval. Now, Hagerty is taking a look, while digging into the history of the actual Ring brothers: Mike and Jim. The two guys grew up in a small town where owning a car was practically a necessity, and the brothers were already wrenching before they could even legally drive. Eventually, that passion grew into a business, which led to wonderfully customized performance vehicles like the Recoil. Hagerty gets a fascinating look into Ringbrothers tuning philosophy in its interview. Of course, the real interest lies in this custom Chevelle, and there's a chance to hear the absolutely ferocious sound from the Recoil's supercharged V8 in this clip.

GM posts $4 billion third-quarter profit thanks to trucks and SUVs

Thu, Nov 5 2020

DETROIT — General Motors is posting huge third quarter numbers, pulling in $4 billion in profit over three months after losing money due to the virus outbreak. GM's adjusted earnings were $2.83 per share, easily outpacing Wall Street's per-share projections of $1.43, according to a survey by FactSet. Revenue of $35.5 billion also edged out most expectations. Shares jumped almost 6% before the opening bell Thursday. The company swung back from a $806 million loss in the second quarter, when it was restarting factories shuttered for safety during the early stages of the pandemic. The Detroit automaker joined most global automakers in reporting better-than-expected earnings from July through September as sales across the globe started to rebound from coronavirus lockdowns, especially in China. GM sales in China jumped 12% in the third quarter, with sales of its Buick and Cadillac brands both rising more than 25%. In the U.S., GMÂ’s most profitable market, sales fell 9.9% in the third quarter compared with a year ago, but were a dramatic improvement over the 34% drop in the second quarter. Sales improved sequentially each month, the automaker said, an encouraging trend. GMÂ’s profit was boosted by higher-priced pickup trucks and large SUVs, which have seen strong sales in the U.S. through the pandemic. It was the best quarter on record for GM's Chevrolet Blazer. Sales of the Cadillac XT6 spiked 45% in the U.S. over last year. Large pickups also sold well. GM also said it was pumping $2 billion into its Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing plant to push its transition to produce electric vehicles. Last week, crosstown rivals Fiat Chrysler and Ford reported strong third-quarter net income. FCA said it made $1.4 billion for the period, while Ford earned $2.39 billion.
