1955 Chevy short-bed one of a kind pick up. Over $75,000.00 invested. This is an amazing find, fully restored frame off, with only 931 miles, custom big window truck. TCI Mustang 2 independent front end, 4-link coil over rear end, custom wheels and tires, 9x17 front, 11x17 rear. Power steering, power disc brakes, tilt wheel, custom 60/40 split leather/ostrich power seats, custom Dolphin gauges and center console. Powered by a 355 V8, SMC 4-bolt main, flat top pistons, steel crank, SS valves and roller rockers. Driven by a 700-R, 4 speed automatic transmission, with GM 10 bolt and 3:73 gears. The paint and body are near flawless with over 2000 labor hours invested. The front hood has a 1957 Belair added “rockets”, while the grill is custom made from a 1958 Corvette. The bed is from a 1958 short box with hard wood oak floor, tubed wheelhouses and molded tail gate. All work completed about a year and a half ago with receipts and pictures. EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides

In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. It's going to be a competitive race for the 2017 Green Car Of The Year. With a minivan in the running for the first time in ages, the five finalists announced by Green Car Journal today include five very different plug-in vehicles. As Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, said in a statement, "electrification is now considered by most automakers an essential technology for current and future high-efficiency models." Let's check out the list: Toyota Prius Prime, the updated plug-in version of the world's best-selling hybrid. Chevy Bolt, GM's all-new entry into the long-range EV game. Chrysler Pacifica, a family hauler with the ability to go 30 miles on electric power. Kia Optima. The nomination is for the full line-up, but really the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models are the green stars here. BMW 330e iPerformance, one of the automaker's many new plug-in hybrids that bring battery power to models outside the i sub-brand. Green Car Journal will announce the winners at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17th, along with some, "other green transportation announcements," whatever that means.
