This is a very nice truck, one of the most honest examples of an original Silverado you will find. It has 34K miles on the odometer which I believe is to be the true reading for this truck. Has a 305 with 700R trans, with dual tank, and long bed The previous owner bought it from his nephew and was going to install a high performance crate engine and new rear end. But the truck was too nice of a truck for him to modify. The owner stated that a new a few maintenance items were done to the truck about 300 miles before selling it to me. A new oil pump, window motors, and vent windows and service to the A/C unit. The good: The truck has an interior of 8 or 9 based on the age of the truck and it being the original interior, seats are has 2 small cracks about 3 in on the left driver.. see photos. The headliner looks new, but it is the original Nothing is broken on this truck The original radio is in place, no hack job on the dash. The Dash looks new no dings or scratches The lights work inside Power windows and locks Door panels are not busted, faded, or cracked Bed.. looks like Nothing has ever been hauled inside The drive train is complete, transmission has been serviced and is in top shape with perfect shifts..the car drives like an 80’s Caddy. Under the hood is 100% complete and no alterations which I can see. Fuel injection units are clean and delivers a nice smooth ride. Duel tanks, both in stalled but only right side is connected.( the guy cleaned both sides but only installed a new sending unit and pump in the driver’s side after many years of the truck being sitting in a garage without being started) the right side is original. The car has had a camper on it from the dealership but it was removed and there are a few rusty spots where the mounts were.. There is ZERO rust under the body, quarters, door jams, under the door, floors, cab corners, this truck is amazing. Original spare tire and jack seems to never been used. Heater is solid No known or found leaks I drive the truck on 5/23/14 from Greenville SC to Fort Benning, GA to see my mother.. the truck seems to get about 17mpg or maybe more 4 hrs one way drive.. stop and go in Atlanta rush hour Friday traffic, no over heating or smoking, no stalls. Avg speed 75mph. straight drive no alignment issues. This truck does not squeak or rattle or make any noises, 100% solid. It has the org mats from the factory The carpet is very good, 2 stains that I am sure I can remove.. maybe soot from boots The Bad: Body has 1 small dent (see pic) in the rear which could be removed Radio comes on but no sound Cruise control is not working, I have not checked the fused yet Passenger brake light bulb is out, I will replace it Tuesday Hood is faded A/C is ice cold.. yes.. sometimes it’s a just a pain to have too much cold air on you. But it has temperature controls to adjust your temp. Happy bidding. I will deliver to you with in a 200 mile distance, for the cost of fuel and a Chic-Fil-A meal. If you need any more pictures or information let me know. 803-412-5784 May the Lord bless you and the new ower of this fine truck. Happy Bidding. |

GM to idle car production at five factories as Americans continue CUV love affair
Mon, Dec 19 2016In case you needed another reminder that Americans have fallen out of love with sedans, General Motors today announced plans to idle five factories in January in a bid to cut its inventory to 70 days. Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly ( Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Impala) and Fairfax Assembly in Kansas ( Chevy Malibu) will stop production for three weeks. Lansing Grand River ( Cadillac ATS and CTS, and Chevy Camaro) is going down for two weeks, while Lordstown, OH ( Chevy Cruze) and Bowling Green, KY ( Chevy Corvette) will go idle for a week each, Automotive News reports. GM's shutdown reflects a broader problem with the company's supply – at 847,000 vehicles, the company's supply increased unsteadily from a low of 629,000 units in January of 2016. That's more than a 25 percent increase in the past year. Citing information from Autodata, The Detroit News reports that at the end of November, GM had a 168-day supply of LaCrosses, 177 days' worth of Camaro, 170 days of Corvette, 121 days for Cruze, 119 days for ATS, 132 days for CTS, and 110 days of CT6. Meanwhile, inventory of the company's more popular vehicles is actually below the professionally accepted 60- to 70-day supply, The News reports. The Trax, Colorado pickup, and GM's full-size SUVs are sitting below 50 days and experiencing year-over-year sales increases. GM needs a rethink of its inventory levels, which is something that's apparently coming. "We're going to be responsible in managing our inventory levels," GM spokesman Jim Cain told The News. Another unnamed spokesman told Automotive News the company's day-to-day supplies would "fluctuate before moderating at year-end." But at least one analyst thinks this won't be the last time Detroit needs to stop production to level things out. "Incentives are elevated, residuals are declining, and rates are rising," Brian Johnson, an analyst with Barclays, told The News. "And while GM in particular may benefit in the months ahead from new product launches, it's important to recognize that GM's inventory is elevated at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise us if they need to announce another production cut – which could pressure the stock." 2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven
Wed, Feb 8 2023POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods. However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows. Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS. Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence. Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
