1972 Chevrolet C20 (3/4 ton) Custom Deluxe Camper Special This two owner truck has an incredible history! It was purchased by the original owner on July 21st, 1972 at E.B. Smith Chevrolet in Nashville, Tennessee. The truck remained in the original owner's possession until 2008. From there an acquaintance purchased the truck and owned it until this point. The rundown - Based on previous owner knowledge, title information, and an overall overview of the truck, we believe the 76,471 miles to be exact and not a "rollover." - Option #Z62 and #Z81 Custom Deluxe and Custom Camper Equipment - #LS9 350 Cubic inch small block. M49 Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. - Original Owners Manual AND New Truck Warranty packet, complete with stamped imprint of VIN and dealership. - #C60 4-Season Air Conditioning option! Factory AC truck! It is currently set up w/ R12 and does not blow cold. The heat blows very hot! - Truck runs and rides VERY well. It is in exceptional mechanical shape. - As with most trucks this age, there are a few areas of rust. The rocker panels, lower cab corners and some small parts of the floorboard could stand to be replaced if the new owner desires that. These parts are available from a LMC catalog for small amount. - Interior bench seat has recently been reupholstered. - Not pictured are an ABUNDANT amount of interior parts from LMC. These include: 1. Green door panels, green armrests, near weather stripping, complete interior black carpet, vent visors, door sill trim pieces. All of these parts are brand new aside from the door panels. - Aftermarket, 18 inch chrome wheels wrapped in Nitto tires with PLENTY of tread life left. However, the ORIGINAL steel wheels are INCLUDED. - Paint is original, and at 42 years old, the truck needs to be painted. I honestly dig the patina'd look the green paint provides. Overall, this is a considerably rare and very cool 72' C20. It has a paper trail a mile long and is virtually all original. This truck could easily creep towards $16,000-$18,000 with a few LMC parts and a decent, professional paint job. The paper trail and overall original condition of the truck are worth the asking price alone! I am a licensed auto broker and this vehicle is for sale at our dealership in Nashville, TN and will be subject to a $199 doc fee. Please feel free to contact me at 865-207-9690 for any questions. -Alex On Apr-26-14 at 08:09:41 PDT, seller added the following information: 1972 Chevrolet C20 (3/4 ton) Custom Deluxe Camper Special This two owner truck has an incredible history! NHTSA closes book on Ford, GM probes of 600,000 vehicles
Thu, Nov 27 2014US safety regulators have closed a pair of investigations into some 500,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder sedans built between 2004 to 2007, and 100,000 Chevrolet Impala models from 2014. The Ford investigation focused on rusting heat shields, which may become dislodged and jam the steering, according to Reuters. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that this happened very rarely. In fact, of the ten incidents filed with the government safety watchdog, six came from a single police department, which evidently had some sort of problem with its reporting. As for the Impala, the NHTSA investigators attributed two incidences of "unintended autonomous braking" to user error. In both cases, the vehicles were involved in rear-end collisions. According to GM investigators, it's believed that drivers accidentally activated the electric parking brake, causing the collisions. The vehicles in question were rental cars. 2015 Chevy Impala Bi-fuel burns CNG, starts at $37,385*
Tue, May 6 2014Currently, the only natural-gas-powered passenger car offered for sale by an OEM in the US is the Honda Civic Natural Gas. Starting this fall, that long-running CNG car will be joined by a CNG-burning 2015 Chevy Impala for both fleet and retail customers. General Motors announced today that the car will start at $37,385, plus an $825 destination charge. That comes to $38,210 before taxes and options. Those options include two trim lines, the base LS and the upper-level LT. Chevy doesn't break out the details in the press release announcing the price, but you can see the trim details for the standard gas-powered 2014 Impala here. Exact information on the 2015 models is not available just yet, but GM spokesman Chad Lyons told AutoblogGreen that the equipment that you see listed on the site for 2014 is "almost exactly the same" as what will be available for 2015. The 2015 Impala gets around 19 city mpg on CNG, but official EPA numbers are not yet available. That means the LS will come with 18-inch aluminum wheels, electric variable-assist power steering, projector-beam headlamps, and 10 air bags. The LT adds an eight-inch touch screen with MyLink, premium Cloth interior and dual-zone automatic climate controls. The cost for this upgrade is unspecified. For CNG purposes, we can ignore the numerical prefix used for the gas-powered LT trims, since that denominates the engine type, and all the CNG models use a 3.6-liter engine with hardened valves and valve seats that can better handle natural gas. The trunk capacity also drops from 18.8 cubic feet to 10 cu .ft. in order to fit in the CNG tank that holds the equivalent of 7.8 gallons of gas. That amount of CNG should move you 150 city miles, which is around 19 mpg, but official EPA numbers are not yet available. With the addition of the gasoline on board, the overall range is 500 city miles. The car burns CNG when available and switches to gas with "no interruption" either when the tank is empty or when the driver selects the gas tank. Find more details in the press release below. GM says the CNG Impala will will be available nationwide this fall. CNG is a growing fuel in the US, thanks in part to fracking. The Civic Natural Gas, which starts at $26,640, is growing towards a nationwide availability. Next year, for example, the Shell Eco-marathon Americas in Detroit will allow CNG for the first time. 2018 Autoblog Technology of the Year finalists
Wed, Jan 10 2018After months of prepping and several days of testing, we narrowed the field for Autoblog's 2018 Tech of the Year award to the Nissan Rogue with ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system, the Lexus LC 500h and its new hybrid powertrain, and the Chevy Colorado ZR2 and its trick Multimatic spool-valve off-road shocks. Three very different cars with very different technologies duking it out for the award. Look for news of our winner at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. We hand out this award every year to the technology or feature that we feel moves the bar forward for the automotive industry. Read more here on how our testing process works. We discuss, debate and count up score sheets, judging each vehicle and technology on a few different criteria. Is its purpose noteworthy? Does it work well? Does it advance the industry? The Nissan Rogue with ProPilot Assist was actually a prototype, as the technology will first debut in the 2018 Nissan Leaf. Still, we're here to test the tech and not the car. ProPilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control system combined with lane-keeping assistance. The system uses sonar, radar and a number of cameras for some light semi-autonomous driving and enhanced safety. While these systems aren't new individually, Nissan's system is affordable, intuitive, and coming to a mainstream product — democratizing the tech in a novel way, if you will. That's why it's here. The Lexus LC 500h uses a new powertrain that Lexus has dubbed the Multi-Stage Hybrid System. Basically it combines two types of transmissions — a CVT and a four-speed automatic — in a single unit mated to a naturally aspirated V6. That's complex and unorthodox technology, and Lexus engineered it to give drivers the efficiency of a CVT without sacrificing driving enjoyment. The package is subtle, working in the background to create a nearly seamless driving experience. It's engaging in a way most other hybrids can only dream of. The fact that it's wrapped in such gorgeous sheetmetal only makes things better. The Multimatic spool valve shocks in the Chevy Colorado ZR2 might seem low-tech compared to ProPilot Assist and the Lexus Multi-Stage Hybrid, but they represent a completely novel application of a technology that several years ago was so expensive that it was reserved for top-tier race cars. Like the LC 500h, these shocks really change your perception of how a vehicle like this should drive.
