Up for sale is a classic 1952 Chevrolet 3100 5 window pickup truck.  The truck belongs to my neighbor and is primarily used for car shows and casual cruising.  He's decided to move on to something else so the truck is up for sale.  This truck is a very nice example of a driver quality vehicle.  The truck was frame-off restored several years ago.

Engine: High performance small block 327 V8 engine.  The specifics are unknown on the motor, but it has been built.  Nice big, thumping cam.  Edelbrock 4 barrel carbuerator.  Sounds awesome!  Mated with 4 speed on the floor manual transmission.  Has brand new Hurst shifter and knob just installed.  Also has custom hubcap air cleaner - VERY COOL!

Exhaust: True duals with Flowmaster mufflers

Wheels: 17" Cragar Eliminator Series 500 Wheels - These look just great on this truck.  Wheels are new with no curb rash.

Interior:  Has brand new custom upholstery on seat, door panels, and headliner.  High quality material used here.  Its a mix between vinyl and leather.  Stain resistant.  Has aftermarket oil pressure and water temperature gauges installed.  The other in-dash gauges that came with the truck are not working.

Exterior: Has brand new front and rear chrome bumpers with new bumper brackets.  New chrome grille.  New chrome front hood ornaments.  New running board step plates.  Bed wood has been professionally refinished and reinstalled using all new stainless steel bed strips and hardware.

Paint:  White basecoat/clearcoat paint.  Good driver quality paint job.  Not perfect, not show truck paint.  There are a few spots on the paint that are not perfect.  Some misc cracks in paint showing faint rust.  Let me be clear there is no heavy rust areas on this truck.  It is extremely solid.

Misc:  No power steering, no power brakes.  Just like the old days.  We've priced this truck competitively based on whats been done to it, it's condition, and the overall market for these.  This is a really nice truck.  It has a few minor issues that have been disclosed.  PLEASE ask any and all questions you might have about the truck.  Please do not bid on the truck if you do not intend to buy it.  The truck is currently registered in the state of GA.  The GA tag office would not give us a title due to the age of the truck.  We do have an signed open TN title from the previous owner if your state requires a title for registration.

Thanks for looking!

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction

Sat, Sep 9 2023

Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
