Up for auction is a very nicely preserved 1973 Chevrolet 350 Nova 2 door post car. The engine in this car is built and has had extensive work preformed on the motor. New Mallory electronic distributor with 8mm plug wires. New Edelbrock carb and intake manifold. Transmission is a rebuilt Turbo 350 which shifts smooth. Custom headers were installed with 3 inch exhaust and new mufflers. Car has a nice rumble to it but not dragster loud. The car has very few options. No rug,No cigarette lighter.   It has the rubberized mat that is still new in appearance. Bench seat shows nicely and rear seat looks like no one has sat in it in years. Package tray is starting to show some age but the headliner is nice and clean. Even the dome light works.

Headlights, tail lights, dash lights, turn signals ALL work.  Heater works but AC compressor is not present nor do i have it.  Wipers work. All the windows go up and down freely and the doors lock and unlock with the key as well as the trunk.
Trunk is in amazing shape. Tail lights lenses are gorgeous as well as the housing inside trunk. The trunk has the factory splatter paint applied to it.
The car when i got it needed paint.  The guys at Macco did an amazing job on this paint job. Not perfect but shows very nice.  The factory sticker really makes a big difference in the cars look. Straight and clean car.
The car had to have been garaged it entire life. The chrome bumpers look NEW in appearance.  NO pitting or fade in chrome.
The car is being sold in As Is condition. I require a 1,000 deposit 24 hours after auctions end and the balance is due before the car is transported.  I have a very reliable and competitive shipper, Royal Auto Transport and they have served me for years with out problems. I would be happy to assist in helping you find the best shipping quote and in helping load the car usually at odd hours.
Please contact me with any questions and concerns and i would be happy to email you more photos if needed.
Thank You

GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee

Tue, Sep 8 2015

General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.

NHTSA ends GM steering investigation without seeking a recall

Wed, Jun 8 2022

DETROIT — U.S. safety regulators have closed an investigation into sticky power steering on thousands of older General Motors SUVs and will not seek a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says GM in 2014 issued “special coverage” to fix the problem on the Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain and other models. The coverage replaced a steering gear with an improved one. The agency said a recall isn't needed because of the coverage and low complaint and warranty repair rates. The agency opened the probe in June of 2020 into steering problems affecting an estimated 781,000 of the SUVs from the 2010 through 2012 model years. Increased friction could make it feel like the steering wheel is stuck. But GM said the SUVs could still be turned, although with more effort than usual. “In view of the special coverage, low rate of failure and low potential hazard to drivers, this preliminary evaluation is closed,” the agency wrote in documents posted Wednesday on its website. New auto loans could soon extend out to 84 months

Sun, Apr 22 2018

Cars and trucks are more expensive than ever before. In order to boost sales and help consumers afford new vehicles, automakers are offering longer and longer terms for auto loans. This past week, Bloomberg reported that FCA's Ram Trucks division is currently offering the longest loans. Some stretch to 73 months. Jeep, Fiat and Chevy aren't far behind. More noteworthy is that we'll likely soon see lenders moving from 73-month to 84-month loans. That's seven years worth of interest. More than two-thirds of US auto sales come from light trucks like the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500. The average transaction price of a new vehicle is well over $30,000. It's not difficult to spec out a heavily-optioned truck up to $60,000. Vehicles depreciate from the moment they roll off a dealer lot, and these six or seven-year loans could hurt consumers and lenders both in the long run. The U.S. Senate voted last week to kill rules that would prevent discriminatory auto lending. These Obama-era guidelines were meant to curtail lenders who offered higher loans based on race, religion, sex or national origin.
