Up For Auction is a 1970 Satin Black Chevy Nova Free Local Delivery up to 50 miles if needed... My wife and I originally bought this car from Alabama in hopes of making it a back-halfed car. Unfortunately when we received the car, we decided that it was much too clean of a car to chop up! So instead we pulled it apart, had new full quarters put on because some idiot cut the wheel lip off. The motor was removed to allow us to soda blast the motor compartment. Inside both doors and jams, also around the windows / front and back were soda blasted to bare metal. There was absolutely no rust anywhere to be found in those areas. The floor boards, the trunk pan, the undercarriage of the car are almost perfect! The doors open and close perfect and they have new felt and weather stripping. Trunk opens and closes perfect, also has new un-installed weather stripping. It was left off so you can see how clean and rust free that area is. The interior of the car, along with the carpet and headliner are in very good shape. You will need to get a new dash pad, as this one has cracks. The motor is Small Block Chevy, we were told that this is the original motor, we obviously have no clue if that's true or not. We don't know if anything was done to the motor, as this is exactly the way we bought it. However it starts right up, has great throttle response and sounds a little beefy but probably stock. The Nova also has power steering. Ok, now for the unfortunate details we need to list. The lights have a mind of their own! Everything worked, turn signals, lights, brake lights, when we got the car. However, since the car has been sitting for about 8 months after putting it all back together, now only some of the things work, of course when they want to! I assume it's just a ground wire somewhere. Like I mentioned before you will need a dash pad and dash light bulbs. The tires are just rollers, they hold air, but are junk. The rims are in ok condition only. They look better in the pictures, then they look in person. The car can probably use a new back bumper. The rear end I believe has a spool in it which means that every time you turn the car it makes a chirping noise from the tires. Because both tires are turning simultaneously. Obviously when you are going straight it is perfectly fine. Some people like having it, some people don't. With all that being said, I am sure there may be a couple small things that might have to be fixed that we did not mention, but I think we listed everything. Once again, you are looking at a very nice, very clean 1970 Nova. Fresh Satin Black paint with a good running motor. The car has great looking interior and it is very structurally sound. However, this is not a perfect car, so expect some imperfections, along with things that may need to fixed or changed to your liking. The car is being sold with a notarized bill of sale from Alabama, because Alabama does not give you a title when you purchase a car made before 1975. I can assure you, that you will not have any problems. That is just the way some states operate. We are selling the Nova with a very low reserve, we think you will be extremely happy with the car, especially for what we are asking for it. GM shows off 'digital vehicle platform' enabling more in-car tech and OTA updates
Wed, May 22 2019It appears to have dropped the sobriquet "Global B," but General Motors' new electrical architecture has bowed in drawings and video. This is the "digital vehicle platform" GM president Mark Reuss spoke to Reuters about in 2015, saying it would move a great deal of a vehicle's computer work to the cloud and enable over-the-air updates. Reuss took the microphone for the debut, too, saying, "Our new digital vehicle platform and its eventual successors will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving." The system will go into production later this year, appearing in dealerships first either on the 2020 Cadillac CT5 or the mid-engined 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. Yes, these are the same electronics cited for delaying the launch of the C8 Corvette over excessive draw, security and getting the more-than-100 computer modules to communicate seamlessly. When Car and Driver asked about that, GM replied with "No comment." Volkswagen's having the same issues with the Mk8 Golf right now, though, so GM isn't alone, and this will be the new normal among OEMs for a while. What's certifiable is that the new architecture is robust enough to handle 4.5 terabytes of data per hour, which is five times what GM's current wiring can handle. And thanks to Ethernet connections of 100 Mbps, 1 Gbs and 10 Gbs, communication within and without the vehicle happens much faster. The advances mean better screen resolutions, better battery management for hybrids and electric vehicles, the capability for over-the-air updates and "functionality upgrades throughout the lifespan of the vehicle." Cadillac's Super Cruise has already been lined up as a leading candidate for constant improvements in the driving assistance suite, a key part of GM's "vision for a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion." And whenever GM decides to take the plunge, it will mean a 48-volt electrical system. More than 300 specialists worked on the digital platform, and security was a huge part of the task. We've already heard that GM consulted with Boeing and military contractors on how to prevent hacking. The carmaker has an internal Product Cybersecurity group that reached out to the research community, and created a "bug bounty" program to crowdsource uncovering any flaws.

Our trusty spy photographers caught the new Bolt EV fully uncovered at a photo shoot, ahead of its official debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. To say the styling looks familiar would be an understatement. There's a lot of Volt elements here, and the nod to the BMW i3 is definitely valid. It's not unattractive, it's just sort of, well, there. Never mind, the Bolt will have a lot going for it when it launches, should earlier rumors come to fruition. The hatchback is expected to have a 200-mile electric range, and should cost right around $30,000 after incentives. The Bolt will be built in Michigan, and will likely arrive at dealers in early 2017. Chevy knows this one's going to be huge, and the company is fully committed to launching and marketing the Bolt the right way. We'll have the full details in January at CES. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
