Up for sale is my Undocumented Chevy Nova SS 396/350hp - Period correct 396 CI, Muncie M21 4-spd trans, 12-bolt Posi with 3:31 gears. The car was restored over 5 years ago in original Green Mist. Overall, the car is in Excellent, Show Quality condition. Paint, Panel Fit, Chrome, Glass and Interior are excellent. The car drives as well as it shows and sounds great. Summer 2013 I replaced the original style transverse muffler behind the axle with true dual exhaust. I replaced all pipes from the stock manifolds all the way to the tailpipes, using Flowmaster 40 mufflers. Also, brand new 14x7 Ralley Wheels, Flat Center Caps and Trim Rings along with new 225/70/14 BFG T/A Radials were put on the car in 09/13. The original F70/14 Bias Ply Firestone Wide Ovals on steel wheels with Dog Dish hubcaps also come with the car and give it a complete “sleeper” look! HIGHLIGHTS: Restored to ORIGINAL Condition: Green Mist exterior Black interior with Bench Seat and Vinyl Floors 396 (CTX) Big Block with Quadrajet Muncie M-21 4-Speed 12 Bolt Rear - 3:31 Posi Sub-Frame Connectors Traction Bars NEW 14" Ralley Wheels/Center Caps/Trim Rings with NEW 225/70 BFG Tires 14" Steel Wheels with F70 Bias-Ply Tires The car runs and drives excellent and I would not hesitate to drive cross-country. ***Notice in the last picture there is a nick in the paint on top of the passenger front fender. I have many more pictures of the car and can email upon request. Do NOT confuse the value of this car with a Small Block Nova. This car is insured with Hagerty for $40,000 - without any hesitation on their part. This is an Undocumented SS 396, I do NOT have any paperwork. Trim tag indicates it was born a V-8 and that is all I can prove. A documented car in this condition would command significantly more than I am looking for. Thanks for looking and email me with any questions you may have. |

Leak reveals GM's 2017 heavy duty diesel trucks to get 910 lb-ft of torque [UPDATE]
Tue, Sep 27 2016UPDATE: Chevrolet officially announced specs for the 2017 Silverado HD and the rumors were true. The truck's new Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 puts out 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Chevrolet says the new motor produces 19 percent more torque and 12 percent more horsepower, while producing 35 percent fewer emissions. Overall, the new engine is a big improvement over the current motor, which generates 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque. According to Truck Trend, GM's newest heavy duty pickup trucks will pick up quite a bit more power and torque. The publication spotted a recent GM Powertrain ordering catalog that had the engine specs for the 2017 model year and managed to get some screenshots before the catalog was taken down, and they can be viewed here. The screenshots revealed that the 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 powering the Silverado and Sierra heavy duty models will boast 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. This is a substantial gain over the current models' 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque, and as Truck Trend points out, it exceeds the Ford Super Duty line's horsepower output of 440, but comes short of the 925 lb-ft rating. Truck Trend credits part of this output gain to the new intake system GM will introduce on the 2017 heavy duties. The intake gets 60 percent of its air from a scoop on the hood, with the other 40 percent coming from behind one of the front fenders. GM doesn't reveal horsepower figures in the press release about the scoop, but it does say the cooler air helps with maintaining the engine's output, and that the scoop does produce a ram-air affect, providing more air at speed. As we know, more air plus more fuel equals more power, but there's likely more to the power increase in this engine than only the intake. Chevy Gives World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner A Recalled Truck
Thu, Oct 30 2014Last night must have seemed like a dream come true for San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner. He helped his team win its third World Series Championship in four years, earned MVP status and was given a brand new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Bumgarner might want to hold off on taking a victory lap in his new truck however. The Colorado is currently under recall. General Motors issued a stop-delivery order earlier this month to fix the truck's air bag connectors, which were wired improperly during the manufacturing process. The faulty wiring can cause the system to deploy incorrectly. Only 138 customers have received their Chevrolet trucks, the rest were caught and repaired either in the plant or on their way to dealerships and show rooms. Recalls Chevrolet world series
GM natural gas-powered vans recalled due to possible leak
Wed, Sep 24 2014General Motors is recalling almost 3,200 of its compressed-natural-gas powered utility vans because of possible leaks. GM and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a notice last week saying that 3,196 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana CNG vans are on recall, though no accidents have been reported due to the possible issue. The recall is specifically for vans for model years ranging from 2011 to 2014. The recall stems from a potential leak from the compressed natural gas high-pressure regulator, and such a leak could cause a fire or explosion. GM will replace the vehicles' high-pressure regulator in order to fix the problem, will do it free of charge and is instructing owners to contact Chevrolet or GMC customer service to arrange for the parts replacement. Utility vehicle makers like General Motors have pushed for fleet sales of CNG-powered vans and trucks for the past few years and have touted them for their cheaper refueling costs relative to standard gasoline, not to mention the fact that natural gas can be readily sourced from throughout North America (thanks, fracking). According to CNGPrices.com, compressed natural gas sells for about $2.22 a gallon, on average, while the AAA is pegging the average price of gas at $3.34 a gallon. NHTSA has posted information on the recall here. Featured Gallery News Source: NHTSA via Reuters Green Chevrolet GM GMC Natural Gas Vehicles CNG gmc savana
