Now up for auction we have a 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS recreation.  This Nova was bought new at Ray Bryant Chevrolet in Dayton Ohio on 2/27/69 and has had 2 owners since.  We have the original protecto-plate for the car as well as the original owners manuals.  The car is showing 89,339 miles which we believe to be correct.  She is equipped with a mild 350 small block with aluminum intake, new Holley 750 carb., & headers.  She runs great with no issues.  She has a new Muncie M-20 four speed manual transmission with a new Hurst competition shifter that shifts flawlessly and works great.  She has a 8.5 10 bolt posi rear with 3.08 gears which has been narrowed a  1 1/2" on each side to allow the 275 nitto NT555's to fit perfectly.  The car has a new rear suspension (shocks, bushings, bearings, and seals).  The front suspension has a 2 inch drop spindles with lowered springs & cross drilled slotted disc brakes.  This car performs great & it runs, drives, and stops as she should.  All interior and exterior lights work great as do the speedometer, fuel gauge, and horn.  The body on this Nova is very solid with no major rust issues.   The paint is great for a weekend cruiser but not concourse show quality.  She has power steering which works great in turning the new 18 inch American racing torque thrust 2's with gray center & new Nitto NT 555 tires.  The car has an awesome pro touring stance.  Please bid with confidence and feel free to call with any questions 914-968-0066x124 Billy D.  The car is listed for sale locally so we do reserve the right to end this listing early.  Please remember your bid is a contract please treat it as such.  This nova is being sold as is, we would like her removed as well as paid for within 10 days of the close of this auction.  We are a licensed NY state dealer (facility# 7109629).  New York state residents will be required to pay the appropriate sales tax in NY.  This does not apply to out of state bidders.  With all that being said thanks for looking and good luck bidding to all.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
