We are proud to offer our beautiful 1969 Chevelle Malibu for sale.

We bought this car from a gentleman who owned this car for the last 20 something years.  About 8 years ago, he had the car restored including a rebuild on the original 307 small block and TH350 transmission.  The undercarriage was painted and coated lifting the body off.  The interior was restored and the exterior was painted in the gorgeous Cortez Silver.  This Chevelle appears to be all original with the exception of the correct style bucket seats.

This is also an A/C car that was recently charged and blows cold.  The greatest thing about this car is it is 100% complete and everything works as it should!  All of the lights, switches, wipers, heater, A/C, engine, transmission are in fantastic working condition!  This car would make an awesome driver or the best start to a hot rod you could ask for!

If you look at my feedback you will notice I have a wonderful reputation for selling and describing high interest cars.  I believe in trying to present the best online evaluation I can to make sure the buyer knows exactly what he is getting and not getting by winning this auction.  Most ads I see on Ebay only list specs on a car and often do not mention anything about the actual condition of the car...run from these.  Here is the car as I see it:

Body:  This appears to be a very original, rust free car with the exception of the driver's side quarter panel at the very rear, lowest part.  This is very common and it is just starting to bubble through the black paint on the underside.  The beauty of this is that it would be a very easy repair if concerned about it as you only need to replace the bottom lip of the rear quarter and would be easy to match the black paint.  This is the only rust I have found in the car.  The battery tray area looks great, inner fender wells, window channels, etc. all look good.  I believe the passenger rear quarter had a small patch at the very bottom with metal when restored.  The body appears very straight and all the gaps line up nicely.  Doors, hood and trunk all open and close like new!  The vinyl top is in great condition and is a rich black in color.  The windshield is in good condition but there is a groove in the glass following the arch of the blades on the driver's side.  This does not block any visibility but is easily replaced if you want to. All of the bumpers and stainless trim are in great condition!

Paint:  This car has very nice paint and I would call it a nice driver quality.  There are a few small scratches that are hard to see in the silver paint unless you are up close.  There is also some very small particles that must have gotten into the paint and then cleared over.  It looks like very small sand or dust particles but these can be found all over the car if you look very closely.  The car is very glossy and the silver coverage is smooth and not blotchy like a lot of silver cars you see.

Interior:  The interior shines in this car.  The dash pad is like new, headliner is like new with working dome light, the carpet is new, the back seat is in fantastic condition and the metal dash his uncut and in terrific condition.  There are a few small scratches on the dash around the glove box that is an easy touch up but worth mentioning.  The driver and passenger bucket seats are in good condition but could use a simple dye touch up where the black has been worn off.  If I were to keep this car I would have the front seats redone with new covers and new foam and you would have a beautiful finished interior!  All of the windows roll up and down nicely and seal well.

Mechanical:  This has the original 307 small block in it that starts right away, doesn't appear to use any oil or smoke.  It has the original two barrel carburetor with manual choke.  The transmission shifts smooth and well and there are no noticeable noises anywhere.  The brakes are original drum style at all four corners that work well and stop straight!  The rear end is stock with tall highway gears and assume they are original.  I do not believe it is a posi car as it is all original.

Wheels & Tires: The wheels look like brand new and are the original style S/S Cragars. They even have the older metal caps which is very cool unlike the new plastic versions that peel. The tires are in great condition with 80-90% tread remaining.  This Chevelle cruises down the interstate nicely, tracks straight and does not wander at all.  It drives amazing!

I have a clean and clear title for this car!

As you can see by the photos, this car looks amazing and it is so hard to find these old Chevelles that are complete with everything working.  Run it like it is for a reliable driver to all the car shows or drop in a big block and you have a finished hot rod! Either way you don't have a lot of odds and ends to locate or fix costing you thousands more in your car.

Please contact me through Ebay with any questions before you bid or to get my contact information.  Please only bid if you are serious and intend to complete the transaction.  I also have high definition photos available upon request!  If you have zero feedback please contact me BEFORE you bid.

I can assist with delivery arrangements or can pick up the new buyer at the Boise airport (BOI) and you can drive this home!  It is very reliable!  Any help you need from me to complete this transaction must be approved before you bid or win the auction.  If you are an Idaho resident I must collect 6% in sales tax.  If you are out of state there will be no taxes collected.

I am open to trades of equal or greater value so let me know what you have and send me some pictures...just remember the equal or greater value part!

Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

General Motors and EVs: No stranger to firsts, but where's the leadership?

Tue, Apr 7 2015

2015 is already shaping up to be the year of "affordable, 200-mile EV" concepts. Nissan and Tesla have each been talking about them for some time, the latter promising to unveil its Model 3 at the North American International Auto Show in January before balking when the time came. Instead, Chevrolet beat them all by unveiling the Bolt concept at the same event, followed shortly thereafter with suggestions of a 2016 launch – potentially offering the first nationwide EV with anything close to that range. It was the ballsiest EV-related move General Motors has made in a quarter century. But will it remain so? Exactly 25 years before the Bolt rolled up onto the turntable, then-Chairman Roger Smith unveiled GM's last ground-up EV concept, the even-more-unfortunately-named Impact, at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 1990. A few months later, he surprised most of his colleagues by announcing its intended production in honor of Earth Day. It was the first modern foray into electric vehicles for the US by any automaker, one that was rewarded by the State of California with what is now known as the Zero Emissions Vehicle mandate. The program not only forced other automakers into competing with Roger's pet project, but inspired all of them to fight it like small children against bedtime. Some years later, the drivers themselves weighed in, with a biting documentary about that obstinance and the leadership it cost both GM and the country. Within months, GM was first back into the fray of plug-in vehicles. Many criticized the company for starting with a PHEV rather than jump straight back into EVs. The choice wasn't totally out of the blue – even EV1 was meant to be followed by a PHEV. And especially on the heels of Who Killed the Electric Car?, some skittishness was understandable: even a successful EV would invite a "we told you so" public reaction, underscoring their mistake in ending the EV1 program. If a new EV didn't do well, they'd be convicted in the public eye as serial killers. All while seeking a federal bailout. For all the flak, the resulting Chevy Volt was and is a better car than GM has ever gotten credit for. But the company seemed to grow weary of having to overcome its varied past, and while the current owners remain happy, much of the stakeholder and community engagement that so effectively built early goodwill and sales growth faded not long after launch. Marketing has been spotty in both consistency and effectiveness.
