1965 Malibu Hardtop Coupe. The gentleman owned this car since 1987. During his ownership it has gone through a great transformation. He has unfortunately passed away but we will try to answer any questions to the best of our ability. This car had not been started since last fall. I hooked the battery up and within a few minutes of cranking if fired right off. No smoke or noises and we drove it out of the garage. I apologize for the glare but it was a very sunny day.

Engine; Originally gone through by himself and shouldn't have more than 10 or 15K on it. We believe it is pretty much stock other than the chrome options you see. I could not get the numbers off of the block or the pad. The car has a PA inspection that expired 4/11. It was only started last year to move in or out of the garage but was not driven or offered for sale.

Transmission; Rebuilt and believed to have a shift kit in it but as we stated we do not know for sure.

Rear End; 10 bolt - non posi stock. Gear set unknown. Does have rear sway bar on it.

Wheels\Tires; May be Cragers?? Good shape with newer tires and a new matching spare.

Body; Floors/ Trunk appear to be original. All original steel body panels/ parts. I found one very small place on the right rear 1/4 that had many 3 or 4 minor bubbles and a couple on the front lip of the hood. Small dent in L/F fender (tried to get picture but it wouldn't come out) and small dent L/R 1/4 panel. The dents could be removed by the dent wizard and again these are minimal but wanted to mention them.

Paint; is excellent. Very high gloss as you can see in the pictures. This is the way it was in the garage. We did not wash/wax it or anything and it has been in the garage since the fall 2010.

Chrome/Stainless; The bumpers are excellent, most likely rechromed. The stainless trim on the sides, trunk and the wheel opening mouldings are nice with no dings/dents.

Interior; Completly redone but the headliner. The seats were all done to match Including Chevy bowties in embroided in along with new carpet, door panels, sill plates etc. The headliner did have one place on the right rear corner that was repaired and there is a picture of it.

Accessories; Power Steering, Power front disc brakes, Add on power windows, Converted AM/FM/Cassette radio, Simulated wood steering wheel, Aftermarket gauges, Blue Dot tailights, Headlight shades, Dual Exhaust, Carpeting/mats in trunk, new battery last year, louvered hood with flamed accents and "350" chrome fender emblems, transmission cooler and an electric cooling fan.

Frame; Very nice shape, no rust scabs etc, very clean.

Title was transferred to his wife and is free and clear. It is listed as prior state "FL" (Florida) and the mileage is believed to be original.

Please ask any questions but our resources to get detailed information is limited. Please review all pictures prior to bidding. We can hold the car for shipping if need be with prior arrangements. Visual inspections are encouraged with prior arrangements.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

Old Car or New Car? 1993 Chevy Camaro vs 2015 Honda CR-Z

Wed, Sep 30 2015

My daily life revolves around used cars. As a former fast-talking auto auctioneer, it was once my job to inspect, appraise, and liquidate thousands of cars throughout the United States. Since I put down my microphone and became a full-time car dealer, I have gone from auctioning off 150 vehicles an hour – yes, we really do talk that fast – to buying 150 vehicles every two to three months. I see and bid on everything from $300 Volkswagens that belch more black smoke than a diesel truck rolling coal, to $30,000 DeLoreans that hopefully can go at least 88 miles per hour. The auctions never run out of weirdness when it comes to cars because they sell over 10 million every single year. So with that big number in mind, let me tell you about these two cars that have about as much in common as Mel Gibson and Mel Brooks.Option A: 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car Edition View 24 Photos This 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Indy Pace Car has all of 4,187 miles on it. Neither of those numbers are a misprint and yes, those are multi-colored stripes on the hood. Every week, I find at least two or three museum pieces that have been stored in the private garage of an auto collector. As you can tell, there are some very broad strokes to the definition and tastes of a collector. It could be a guy who has an extreme case of what I call "Automotive Compulsive Disorder" who chucks 20 or 30 old cars into a field and lets the weather and elements have at them. I once knew a guy, a car dealer at that, who "stored" seven 1990s Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertibles in the Georgia sun, and within two years those cars turned into complete junk. The fact that he stored them in an open field he didn't actually own and near a public road didn't help either. A few of the local meth heads and kleptocrats decided to strip-mine his collection, from the radiators to the tops themselves. He had a brief time in prison in between the before and the surprise after and trust me, he looked like he had soiled his britches when he saw what happened to his personally prized Cutlasses. Then you have whoever owned this Camaro. Is it a one-of-a-kind? Nope. Just 1 of 125, and an insignificant number at that (#87). But let's open the door to this Camaro and see what we find. Oof! I don't remember this multi-colored silly string design as a '90s must-have. Wasn't this popular back in the 1980s?
