Look at the body on this hard to find wagon!

1977 Chevy Impala Station Wagon Original miles THIS IS A RARE NEARLY RUST FREE FROM FLORIDA VEHICLE. WHEN IN MICHIGAN, KEPT IN THE GARAGE, Its all original, clean always garage kept and serviced accordingly, This Chevrolet was owned by an elderly gentleman who always rode it gently and put it away dry.
You have the opportunity to own and cherish such a rare great condition solid Florida and garage kept vehicle. Seats and headliner are in excellent condition, dash has a couple cracks, back inside plastic panels are sun stroked.
Has tilt steering, power steering, good tires, exhaust is all nearly new, see pictures.
We are guessing on engine size, 8 cyl. 305 or 350?

Vehicle will need valve cover gaskets but the oil is not leaking profusely or leaving puddles under car so very small leak.
She runs superb, I must say we took her on a 50 mile test drive and she is a smooth lady! Rides like an air cushion with no transmission slips or jerks, no front end trailing, shocks are great, and the engine runs like a top, steering handles with 2 fingers!
At 80 mph, it seemed like we were going 50 mph, this is no exaggeration, and very quiet.   So we must say mechanically we give it a 9 out of 10 only because of the compromised valve cover gaskets.
Horn, clock, and air condition don't work, fuel gauge bounces slightly but works, floor and defrost heat blows hot as it should. If we missed anything, it is minor or shows in the pictures. Sold with a clear open Michigan title.  $300 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close, total amount due within 1 week of auction close. We are confident you can drive it anywhere in the USA  home we will also work with buyer if more time is needed to to transport it. Car can be stored at our facility free of charge for up to 30 days.
You may look at and test drive the car here locally anytime during the course of this auction.

GM again delays plant that will build the Silverado EV

Tue, Jul 23 2024

General Motors Co. will again push back the planned opening of an electric pickup truck plant in suburban Detroit and has delayed a Buick plug-in amid uncertain growth in battery-powered car sales. Mary Barra, the company’s chief executive officer, told analysts Tuesday on an earnings conference call the automaker is postponing until mid-2026 the opening of its Orion Assembly factory, which will make the Chevrolet Silverado EV. This is the second delay for the plant, which was originally slated to start production in late 2024. Shares of the automaker fell 4.1% to $47.52 as of 9:39 a.m. in New York. The stock is up about 32% so far this year. The delay is a main reason why GM wonÂ’t be able to meet its previous goal of having production in place to make 1 million EVs by the end of next year. The company said they will add production as buyers show more interest in electric vehicles. “We continue to make sure we continue to scale the business to customers and where they are at,” GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson said on a call with reporters. GM reported on Tuesday a 60% jump in second quarter profit compared with a year ago, topping Wall StreetÂ’s expectations on strong demand for its traditional gas-powered trucks in the US market.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
