1964 Chevy Impala SS Lowrider

Listed is a gorgeous '64 SS Impala 2 dr hardtop with a little something extra..this baby hops!! We are not the original builders of this car, so our knowledge of the original build is a little limited. However, since purchasing the car, we've had it painted, mechanically serviced, had the hydraulic system checked and serviced, and installed a new set of batteries for the hydraulic system. The person who is responsible for putting together this wonderful '64 SS Lowrider is well known and respected in our area for pioneering the local low rider culture. In the time we've had this Impala at our location, quite a few people have stopped by, recognized the car, and in turn let us know that it is the "best of the best".

According to the V.I.N.#, this is a true SS Impala, we believe it to be a 327c.i., but can not say for sure. The drivetrain of the car is excellent, the engine runs out nice, has a good strong exhaust note, and the car shifts, and drives perfect. The hydraulic system consists of 3 C.C.E. pumps, Delta dumps, and 8 Auto Craft deep cycle marine batteries. Up front you'll find a set of 9 switches, operating the front, left side, right side, left rear, right rear, a switch that pancakes the front and rear, as well as a couple more that i haven't figured out yet! The system is very easy to operate, this being my first experience with a low rider, i have been able to make the car while parked, bounce on either of the back tires as well as both back tires (the entire rear end) at once, and while driving, have been able to bring the car up on 3 wheels!

This Impala is just too nice to describe, it is truly a must see! We're gonna green light this baby to roll on down the road, so don't miss out!

GM might outsource vans to AM General

General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:

Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years

Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up.
