1972 Chevy El Camino Loaded Big Block Classic-vintage-project Car on 2040-cars
Union, West Virginia, United States
Up for bids is a 1972 Chevrolet El Camino that was an original factory big block car. There is no engine or transmission with this car, body only. This car is very rare and unique because of its factory options and the condition it is in. This car has been in inside storage since around 2002. Before that it was stripped and sprayed with an epoxy or etching primer. It has had both quarter panels replaced at about the same time. Guys you will not believe this cars condition till you see it with your own eyes. Underneath this car is O rust. that's right, no rust. The floors, frame, braces under the bed etc are all very, very solid. Its unbelievable for a car this age to be this rust free. If youre looking for the right car to restore don't miss out on this one. On top of no rust underneath, to make it even more rare and appealing its loaded with options not found everyday on a 1972 El Camino. It has a 12 bolt rear, front power disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, actual cowl induction hood and a tilt steering column. You don't find all this on one car very often. The front clip was removed when I got the car but most parts are there to put it back as a complete car as it should be. Right off I see missing are as follows, hood hinges, front bumper brackets, one inner fender, and I think theres supposed to be a filler panel that goes between the grille and bumper missing. There may be some trim pieces also missing but I have a lot of it. The doors are very nice except I think theres a very small rust spot on the lower corner of the drivers door, very small, think theres a pic of it. Bottoms of the doors are great as are the door jams and rocker panels. The front fenders are good but I think someone replaced the bottom of one of them, not rusted through but they have replaced it with a new section, its done nicely. The cowl induction hood seems very solid also. I do not have the original induction air cleaner assy but there available aftermarket reasonable. The radiator support is there and appears to be very solid and it has the AC condenser still attached to it. Both bumpers are very, very nice driver quality. Bed floor is solid also. Tailgate looks bad in pic but its just where the paint has come off over time, it is absolutely solid also. Looking inside this car it is is upper driver quality all through although to be nice it needs updated. The head liner has a hole in it from my guess is from a mouse making a new home. The seat needs some attention but its NOT all ripped up, just needs recovered. Same for carpet, ok but needs replaced to be nice. The door panels are very, very nice driver quality, not perfect but nice. The dash pad I think is perfect, don't see that very often on a 72 model. Also the dash has NOT been all butchered up to add accessories as most of them have been done. There is a small gauge panel on the bottom of the dash but easily removed with no damage visible. The tilt column is good and tight and it has a SS wheel on it. Actually the complete interior of this car could be useable with only a good cleaning. Forgot to mention, this car has a pretty nice SS grille with it also. Don't know what else to say about this El Camino so email me with your questions or concerns. If your in the market for a super nice, super solid, original big block El Camino to restore do not miss out on this one. This solid of a car doesn't come along everyday. The buy it now price is more than fair for a car in this condition with the options it has. This is way better than buying a cheap rust bucket and have to replace every panel on it. Check out my positive feedback guys, you don't get great feedback like that if you lie and cheat people, I tell it like it is. I require a $500 deposit at auctions end and the car can sit here awhile as long as its paid for in full. I will work with you or a shipper to get it loaded. This car has a clean clear title. If you have less than 10 positive feedback you must contact me before bidding or I will cancel you bid. PLEASE do not bid if you are not serious about completing the deal should you be the winning bidder. This costs money and time. Also the car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell locally. Look over the pics, ask any questions you may have. If its not in the pics, I don't have it guys. There are pictures of everything so please keep that in mind. Not a lot missing other than what was mentioned in the listing. Thanks for reading my novel and good luck should you decide to bid on this rare, well optioned 1972 El Camino.

Forza Motorsport 6's new drivable Hot Wheels cars are the best
Tue, May 3 2016Each month, Turn 10 Studios releases a new car pack for the latest installment of its Forza Motorsport video game. Sometimes that means less-than-exciting stuff coming to our Xbox Ones – BMW X6M, bleh – but this time our inner seven-year-old is beyond ecstatic. Two of the seven cars are based on actual Hot Wheels models. And. They're. Awesome. First we have the 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker. Yes, there are flames on the side. And yes, there's a giant skull where the grille should be. This one came from the imagination of "Mr. Hot Wheels" Larry Wood, whose design was so popular it inspired an actual real-world creation. Like all good things in this world, it's powered by a small-block Chevy V8. Oh, and it has no roof. This will be a popular one among gamers. The other digitized Hot Wheels creation is a 2005 Ford Mustang. A modest vehicle, sure, but the toy designers have festooned this pony car with a wild paint scheme and the body mods to emphasize it. Originally developed to celebrate the 'Stang's 50th birthday, this Hot Wheels car trades Americana for wild Japanese style. There's just one functioning life-size version of this car in existence as well, but if you look hard, you might be able to find one of the 1:64 scale models that inspired it. Other highlights from this month's car pack include the latest Ford Focus RS – finally time to replace that NASCAR-V8-powered, all-wheel-drive 2009 Focus RS – the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, the aforementioned X6M, and Alain Prost's 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car. The Hot Wheels Car Pack is available for download today. 2016 Chevrolet Camaro powers up, slims down
Sat, May 16 2015Don't be fooled by its familiar appearance, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is vastly different than its iconic predecessors. It has a new chassis, a fresh engine lineup, and is loaded with clever technologies that promise to invigorate and improve the sixth generation of Chevy's legendary sports car. It was revealed Saturday before a crowd of enthusiastic Camaro revelers on Belle Isle in Detroit. Redesigning the sports coupe was a heady task, especially as its archrivals, the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger, drive better and are more powerful than ever. But the new Camaro is aiming to be the best combination of handling and raw performance, with quick acceleration and competitive fuel economy. "Redesigning the Camaro is thrilling and challenging all at once, but the secret is to offer something more," Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president of product development, said in a statement. It all began with a weight-loss plan. The new Camaro shed more than 200 pounds compared with the outgoing car, with 133 pounds coming from a lighter body-in-white. Then engineers culled weight nearly everywhere, using aluminum for the instrumental panel frame and some suspension components to trim as much fat as possible. The slimmer body rests on new bones. The Camaro's rear-wheel-drive platform is lighter and stiffer in a bid to improve handling. It's a modified version of the underpinnings used by the Cadillac ATS, though about 70 percent of the architecture is unique to the Camaro. Chevy said structural rigidity is improved by 28 percent. As you'll see, healthy doses of Cadillac and Corvette technologies have been used to bolster the Camaro's drive character and performance. The new car is also expected to handle better thanks to a slightly smaller footprint. It is about two inches shorter in length, with most of that due to the more compact wheelbase. It's also an inch shorter in height and an inch slimmer in width. So yes, the Camaro will be leaner, but it will still be plenty mean. The Camaro SS tops the range (for now) with the Corvette's 6.2-liter V8 pushing put 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. Known as the LT1, is has a cast aluminum block and cast aluminum cylinder heads, and it's fortified with direct injection, variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation. About 20 percent of the engine's parts are said to be unique to the Camaro, including the exhaust manifolds.
Editors' Picks August 2021 | Honda Civic, Mercedes S-Class and more
Thu, Sep 9 2021This month of Editors' Picks saw us award the honor to a couple of redesigned stalwarts like the Honda Civic and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Plus, a new crossover that splits the difference between the compact and subcompact class takes home the prize. On top of this, we'll introduce you to a new term: midcompact. We'll be using this to describe those in-between crossovers that are a tad too small to be considered compact, but too large to neatly fit into the subcompact class. For a few examples of these "midcompact" cars, we'll point you to the Ford Bronco Sport, Kia Seltos and VW Seltos. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, here’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in August that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2021 Genesis G70 2022 Genesis G70 View 26 Photos Quick take: Genesis hits all the right buttons with its G70. It's attractive, fun to drive and can be had for a fair price. Enthusiasts should give it a shot before taking home one of its German competitors. Score: 8 What it competes with: Alfa Romeo Giulia, Lexus IS, Acura TLX, Infiniti Q50, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Cadillac CT4, Volvo S60 Pros: Sharp handler, stunning exterior looks, strong engines Cons: Average interior, loses manual option, small backseat and trunk From the editors: News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "I was already a big fan of the Genesis G70. It has brilliant handling, and the twin-turbo V6 is a beast. It's even a bargain against the competition. And Genesis just made it look a lot better. I wish they'd done a bit more to update the interior, but it's still not a bad cabin. Besides, you won't think too much about it when you're hustling down a fun back road." Features Editor James Riswick — "Yes, it is small, but in a sport sedan segment where "sport" means increasingly less, the G70 still delivers (in part because of that smallness).
