If you have been searching for an El Camino show car that can also be driven and enjoyed, a car that looks every bit the "trailer queen" but isn't, this is the one for you.

This restored, laser straight El Camino turns heads and gets attention wherever it goes.  LOOK AT THE BED...the bed was never used, there has never been a dent, a scrape, a ding in this original bed.  No need to hide patches, rust and defects under a coat of LINEX this one is perfect!  The chrome and stainless are original and bright as new.  Carefully look at the photos and it looks even better in person...inspections are encouraged and welcome.

The dash is perfect and original with no cracks or damage.  The seats have been correctly recovered and the carpet has been replaced.  The door panels and hardware are excellent.

The drive train and components have been refurbished.  Originally a 283 the car now sports a 350 with a Rochester 4 barrel.  The automatic is silky smooth.  The car is equipped with A/C and the compressor functions but a belt and charge needs to be done.  A complete new dual exhaust system is in place.  The underside is detailed as is the engine bay.  As should be expected, all suspension parts, bushings, brakes, cooling system has been replaced or renewed as necessary.

The car is equipped with Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes.  The tires, mounted on Rally Wheels have been driven approximately 500 miles.

The car was originally painted code 938 Desert Beige and is now a stunning GM code 29 Turquoise Poly. The car was painstakingly stripped and not a hint of th original color is present. Together with perfect chrome and stainless the car presents as new.

There is no way to verify the miles showing on the odometer although all  gauges work it is unlikely the miles are correct.  Since the car has had a complete restoration as all of you know this is not significant.

Bottom line:  You will not find a better example of this first year second generation El Camino that can be driven and enjoyed and will turn heads at any car show or cruise night.

This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason.

While I have endeavored to describe this vehicle as accurately as possible I welcome and encourage inspections.  I am happy to answer questions to the best of my ability.  Please DO NOT bid on this car unless you have the ability to complete the transaction.  This is not a video game, by bidding you are committed to purchase if you are the winning bidder.

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)

Crash victim found still inside car 6 hours after it was towed away [w/video]

Wed, Jan 7 2015

Police near Dayton, OH, have quite a confusing case on their hands after the victim of a crash early on New Year's Day couldn't initially be found. Six hours later, the man was discovered lying on the vehicle's floorboard at the tow yard. The unidentified person was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition with possible leg injuries. The police first responded to the scene of the crash around 3:00 am on New Year's Day when a Chevrolet Impala hit a utility pole and drove through a fence, according to WHIO News. The authorities claim that they searched for the man for an hour and a half and came up with nothing. The car was then hauled away to the yard, which was only about 500 feet away. The tow yard worker found the man around 9:00 am and called 911. However, he was clearly dubious about the injured man's predicament and suggested to the operator that he might have returned to the Impala. Police are still investigating the incident. According to WHIO, authorities might have somehow missed the man in the sedan during the search. Alternatively, he could have left the scene of the accident and later returned. Watch the video below for more about this bizarre case. The video meant to be presented here is no longer available. Sorry for the inconvenience. 2019 Chicago Auto Show photo gallery: All of the grilles

Fri, Feb 8 2019

Do you like trucks? How about grilles? Like really big, shiny, chromey, in-your-face, could-be-made-by-Broil-King grilles? Well, the Chicago Auto Show is the place to be. Traditionally known as the truck show of the annual auto show circuit (at least those covered by national media), Chicago has what seems like a small national park's worth of acreage devoted to both consumer and commercial trucks. From humble extended cab Ford Rangers to a mammoth F-650 with cherry picker sprouting from its aft quarters, there's bound to be a truck for everything. And they all have grilles. So above is our gallery devoted to them, because hell, why not? Should you want to know about the trucks attached to those grilles, check out our coverage below.
