1959 Chevrolet El Camino Restored With Many Nos Parts One Owner 427 Big Block 59 on 2040-cars
Arvada, Colorado, United States

Documented one owner car from 1959 to 2012. Sold new in Denver, Colorado and has been here since. The original owner enjoyed this ElCamino so much that he went to the local Chevrolet dealer in the mid 60's and purchased all new bed stainless, side stainless, headlight bezels, grill and tail light bezel then put them in his attic knowing he would one day restore his ElCamino. The car was driven occasionally all through the 1980 when it was parked. In 2007 he decided to restore it. Upon having a concourse body and paint job done the NOS parts were installed! None of the trim parts are reproduced for 59 or 60 ElCaminos, making these cars very difficult to restore. With this car having all NOS trim, sets it apart from the rest. All of the chrome plating was sent out for show chrome. The interior was completed in correct impala materials made by Cars Inc. It has a modern digital stereo fitting in the stock location in the dash and also has a 15" Impala steering wheel. The chassis was detailed and all suspension parts were rebuilt with new bushings and ball joints etc. Four wheel power disc brakes were installed. A fully rebuilt fuel injected 427 was mated to a fresh TH400 automatic transmission. The power steering was upgraded to a 605 steering box. The sunbrella toneau cover is snapped on with small brackets that do not require holes to be drilled in the bed stainless. The inside of the bed is body worked and nicely painted body color, then only the ribbed part of the bed covered in outdoor gray carpet. It looks very professional. The rear window is original and in nice condition, the rest of the glass is new. This car was done to a very high level that is rarely seen on 59 ElCaminos. As restoration costs sore, this car is selling for less than it cost to restore. It is ready to enjoy and needs nothing...... Show quality, fast, fun to drive and reliable. This is an auction, so I will not be disclosing the reserve. Look at my feedback and I have been a Ebay member for 14 years. This should give you confidence in bidding on my car and knowing its described in a honest fashion. If you have questions, please contact me at 303 475-4544

2016 Chevrolet Spark lights up New York
Thu, Apr 2 2015The little Spark has been somewhat of a surprising entry in the modern Chevy lineup in the US. Given its diminutive stature, you might have expected the slightly larger Sonic to cannibalize the tiny sibling's sales, but that hasn't happened. The Bowtie moved 39,159 Sparks in the US in 2014, a 14.7 percent boost from the previous year. Now at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the latest generation is being unveiled with a new engine and much improved styling. Replacing the current 1.2-liter four-cylinder is an all-aluminum 1.4-liter unit making 98 horsepower. That still doesn't sound like much, but it's 16 percent more than the 2015 Spark. The new mill can be connected to either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission with which Chevy estimates 40 miles per gallon highway fuel economy. The 2016 Spark also gets a longer wheelbase and 1.6-inch lower overall height. Combined with more elliptical headlights at the front, the changes make for a somewhat more sleek appearance than the current, boxy model. The platform underneath is more rigid as well, and Chevy claims the latest underpinnings mean better handling and lower NHV levels inside. The little hatch isn't growing up too much, though, and gets a trio of new colors that sound like jellybean flavors: Toasted Marshmallow, Kalamata and Splash. Chevy is packing the interior with better quality materials and improved tech. Chevy's latest seven-inch MyLink system sits in the center stack with a capacitive touchscreen, and it now comes with a physical volume control and other buttons for easier use. All models also get a rearview camera, and a LCD instrument cluster remains in front of the driver. The available suite of safety systems includes Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Side Blind Spot Alert. The 2016 Spark goes on sale in the US in the fourth quarter of 2015 and is produced in South Korea. Expect a gallery showing off all its new styling from the New York show floor soon.
Old Car or New Car? 1993 Chevy Camaro vs 2015 Honda CR-Z
Wed, Sep 30 2015My daily life revolves around used cars. As a former fast-talking auto auctioneer, it was once my job to inspect, appraise, and liquidate thousands of cars throughout the United States. Since I put down my microphone and became a full-time car dealer, I have gone from auctioning off 150 vehicles an hour – yes, we really do talk that fast – to buying 150 vehicles every two to three months. I see and bid on everything from $300 Volkswagens that belch more black smoke than a diesel truck rolling coal, to $30,000 DeLoreans that hopefully can go at least 88 miles per hour. The auctions never run out of weirdness when it comes to cars because they sell over 10 million every single year. So with that big number in mind, let me tell you about these two cars that have about as much in common as Mel Gibson and Mel Brooks.Option A: 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car Edition View 24 Photos This 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Indy Pace Car has all of 4,187 miles on it. Neither of those numbers are a misprint and yes, those are multi-colored stripes on the hood. Every week, I find at least two or three museum pieces that have been stored in the private garage of an auto collector. As you can tell, there are some very broad strokes to the definition and tastes of a collector. It could be a guy who has an extreme case of what I call "Automotive Compulsive Disorder" who chucks 20 or 30 old cars into a field and lets the weather and elements have at them. I once knew a guy, a car dealer at that, who "stored" seven 1990s Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertibles in the Georgia sun, and within two years those cars turned into complete junk. The fact that he stored them in an open field he didn't actually own and near a public road didn't help either. A few of the local meth heads and kleptocrats decided to strip-mine his collection, from the radiators to the tops themselves. He had a brief time in prison in between the before and the surprise after and trust me, he looked like he had soiled his britches when he saw what happened to his personally prized Cutlasses. Then you have whoever owned this Camaro. Is it a one-of-a-kind? Nope. Just 1 of 125, and an insignificant number at that (#87). But let's open the door to this Camaro and see what we find. Oof! I don't remember this multi-colored silly string design as a '90s must-have. Wasn't this popular back in the 1980s?
