2012 Chevrolet Cruze ECO

Manual Transmission, 6-Speed
1.4L Turbo
33,502 miles, 80% Highway

I bought this car in February 2012 because my job at the time required a lot of driving.  I have since been promoted and I am now racking up sky miles instead.  This particularly optioned Cruze ECO is hard to find, and I will list the options that are nearly impossible to get below this description.  This car is great and it is hard to let go, but with the other two paid for, we just don't need it.  It easily gets 45+mpg on the highway at 70-75mph, if you are careful and keep it between 60-65, you will get 50mpg.  City driving is not as good, but at 32-34mpg, I really can't complain. :)  Car is much bigger than it looks, we have 2 kids in car seats that fit comfortably in the back seat and it has a huge trunk.  I put Lamin-X film on the back taillights because I though it made the car look nice and they can easily be peeled off with no damage/residue should the new owner want it off, but I recommend you see it in person first.  I also had a Trifecta "Intelliboost" tune applied at around 1000 miles (after break-in period) and I have been running it ever since without any issues whatsoever.  The tune is active when the cruise control switch is in the off position and the factory tune is engaged when the cruise control switch is in the on position.  It is a night and day difference in power (see dyno graph in pics).  The car as a few chips/scratches that I have captured in the pics, as well as some bumper scuff from a beautiful tire tread thrown from an I-30 18-Wheeler near Little Rock that I just could't avoid.

Hard to find options on this car:

Black Granite Metallic paint
Color Touchscreen with Navigation
Bluetooth and iPhone support (I use my iPhone 5 with Rhapsody, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart Radio, iTunes, YouTube and Netflix (Audio only, Not while driving, of course!)
Pioneer 9-speaker option, includes center channel speaker in dash and dual subwoofers in back deck.

Standard options include:

Motorized Louvers in lower grill that close at 40mph to deflect airflow and increase fuel mileage
17" ultralight (17lbs) forged factory wheels
Goodyear Assurance low-rolling-resistance tires
Lowered 1" all around from the factory using sport springs - this is 1" lower than standard Cruze (Non-eco models) and was done to increase fuel mileage with the bonus of better ride and handling
Power windows, drivers seat, locks
ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control
6-Speed manual transmission
Factory trunk spoiler

Things I added:

Tinted windows all the way around
Tinted tail lights (with removable Lamin-X Film)
Smoked Chevy badge and trunk chrome (removable)
Full front covered with 3M Clear Bra (VentureShield)
Removed Cruze/ECO badging for a clean look
Trifecta "Intelliboost" tune

Please feel free to ask any questions.  This car is for sale locally as well and can be closed at any time.  The title is held by the bank and when I am paid, I will have title within a week or two (depends on bank) and will send it to the new owner.  Feel free to call my at 501-257-7478 with any questions you may have.

2019 Toyota Avalon vs. full-size sedans: How they compare on paper

Mon, Apr 23 2018

Full-size sedans aren't exactly in great demand at the moment, and at least one of the vehicles in this comparison has been rumored to be on the endangered species list. Yet, we've just had our first drive in the 2019 Toyota Avalon, and if anything has a chance of rejuvenating the segment a bit, it's an all-new version of what has long been the segment's benchmark. To see how the new Avalon compares, we've put together the below spreadsheet featuring the Avalon's primary apples-to-apples rivals, the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala. We also included the Nissan Maxima, which is comparable in price, sales and non-luxury badge, and which offers the sort of increased driver engagement promised by the new Avalon XSE and Touring trim levels. We also included the outgoing Avalon for reference as well as that car's luxury cousin, the Lexus ES, which can definitely be cross-shopped with the luxuriously trimmed Avalon Limited. You can use our Compare Cars tool to create your own comparison, such as one featuring the rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger or even Kia Stinger. Alright, enough chit chat. On to the spreadsheet. Performance and fuel economy The GM sedans may come standard with four cylinders, including a mild hybrid system in the LaCrosse, but puh-lease. The V6 is the name of the game in this segment, with outputs now surpassing the 300-horsepower mark. The LaCrosse is the horsepower and torque champ, though it also weighs a bit more than the new 2019 Avalon, so acceleration is likely to be comparable. The Impala weighs a lot more and has only a six-speed automatic, so despite having a wee bit more power, one should expect it to be pokier (not a good sign for a car rumored to be on the chopping block). One would expect the Maxima's 300 hp and lowest curb weight to result in the quickest acceleration, but then it's also strapped to a CVT, which despite being better than ever, is still a CVT. Things get worse for Chevy when you consider the Impala's base four-cylinder gets the same 25 mpg combined as the Avalon's V6 — once again a segment best. Now, should you really prioritize fuel economy, the 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid really stands out with a 43 mpg rating (or 44 with the base XLE trim) that bests the outgoing Avalon Hybrid. Honestly, after driving this new Hybrid, it actually seems like it would be the best bet for most buyers. There's sufficient power, and it only costs $1,000 more than the comparable V6 version.

Leaked GM document shows GMC Sierra I6 diesel is more powerful than F-150's

Thu, Oct 4 2018

GM told us earlier this year that the 2019 GMC Sierra would be getting a 3.0-liter I6 diesel option, but it never mentioned power or fuel economy figures. Hold the phone though, because a leaked GM Canada document just showed up online that lists out the details we've been waiting for. Originally published by TFL Truck, the 3.0-liter oil-burner supposedly makes 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. For those who are counting, that's more than the Ford F-150's 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet from its 3.0-liter diesel. It soundly bests the 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque from Ram's 3.0-liter diesel as well. Fuel economy is another story, though. The promotional material states that it will get 28 mpg on the highway, which is 2 mpg short of the F-150's 30 mpg — mind you, it's only capable of that magical 30 mpg figure in rear-wheel drive form. There's another caveat here, too; these are numbers for Canada, so they're not exactly finalized EPA figures. However, we wouldn't expect drastic differences between the two when the American numbers come out. The leaked documents also state the diesel Sierra will be capable of towing 7,800 pounds. That number seems remarkably low when compared to the F-150, which can tow up to 11,400 pounds with its diesel. Extra power and torque would have us assume that GM could get even better numbers than Ford, so we're going to hold our final judgment for official word. A 10-speed automatic will do the shifting on the diesel, just like on the 6.2-liter V8. Since the Chevy Silverado is also expected to get this engine, we can assume the figures would be almost, if not identical, to those we see here. We recently drove the 2019 Sierra and Silverado without the diesel engines, so go check those reviews out if you'd like to know more of our thoughts on the redesigned GM trucks. Related video:

Car and Driver 10Best list cracked by Tesla Model S, BMW 3 Series left off

Fri, Nov 21 2014

Car and Driver is keeping new blood pumping into its annual 10Best cars list with three new entries making it on for 2015 and a perennial favorite falling off. Among the biggest shocks this year is that the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series are no longer named, despite years of some portion of that lineup earning a mention. In another surprise, the Tesla Model S (specifically in S 60 trim to fit under the $80,000 cost cap) makes it to the 2015 roster and is the only electrically motivated member of the group. Despite the loss of the 3 Series, BMW isn't entirely shut out this year, because the M235i gets its name on the list. Car and Driver argues that the little coupe feels like a welcome throwback to the E46 chassis M3 of the early 2000s. In addition to the Model S, the final newbie to the annual group is the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. The inclusion of these new members knocks the Audi A6/A7 family and Ford Fiesta ST out from the 2014 rundown. The other seven models carry over from last year, including the Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Honda Accord, Mazda3, Mazda6, Porsche Boxster/Cayman and Volkswagen Golf/GTI. The 2015 10Best cars list certainly seems to have something for everyone from the hot hatch fan to the family man and even the green car driver, thanks to the addition of the Tesla. Head over to Car and Driver to read its detailed explanations for each vehicle's inclusion, but if you've got a difference of opinion or just really like the list, let us know in Comments.
