Corvette Roadster Hardtop Convertible Briar Blue Project 4 Speed 350 on 2040-cars
Perrysburg, Ohio, United States
This is the kind of project I always wished I would have been able to find, but ironically, now that I have it, I need the money more! This car is pretty much all there, it needs to be gone through and reassembled. My father purchased this car in 1991. It had been in an accident and the front clip was missing. He replaced the front clip, frame and any rusty parts in the metal substructure in the body. all of that work is still sound. The frame is from 1973 automatic car. The only thing you will notice is that there is a removable cross member to make transmission removal much easier. The car came with the original 350 engine that had been rebuilt by the previous owner. When he was in the process of getting it ready to start, life got in the way. He kept the car in the garage, collecting NOS and repro parts to replace anything the car needed but never got back to working on it. The top frame and soft top were never with the car since he owned it, but there is a factory hard top in excellent condition. The car was painted the original color back in the early 90s and still looks great as the pictures show. There are some scratches and chips but nothing major. I'd just touch it up and go with it! The front and back bumpers are good but used, Original engine and trans were rebuilt, but sitting for 20 years will require going through again. I'd definitely replace the seals at least. I have not tried to turn the engine. The wheels and tires on the car are just for pushing it around, there are 4 original style wheels and NOS beauty rings and 4 good caps. The exhaust pipes are used and in good condition, there are two new mufflers and exhaust tips. Most or all of the exterior badges and letters are NOS. There are new old stock Ecklers seat covers and foam with it, I think one of the seat frames needs a crack welded up. The back of one of the seat foams has been gnawed on by a mouse, but will be usable with a little work. There is an unused set of high quality front carpets. I don't know of anything else I can report. If you keep in mind the top missing, and the 20 years in the garage, I don't think there is anything that will surprise you on this great project!
The good, Pretty much all there except soft top beautiful blue paint job in very good condition new seat covers and foam, beauty rings, trim pieces, etc. original engine, trans and rear 67000 miles clear title The bad no soft top or frame 20 years sitting inside replacement frame On Sep-08-14 at 09:35:47 PDT, seller added the following information: |

Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?
Thu, Jun 23 2016The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose! 2021 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon facelift spied
Fri, Sep 20 2019The Chevy Colorado and its GMC Canyon twin have been on sale for a good long time now, and while things move a little more slowly on the truck side when it comes to facelifts and model changeovers, it seems like it’s about time. So itÂ’s no surprise to see some lightly camouflaged trucks running around ahead of what appears to be a minor refresh for the 2021 model year. Starting with the Colorado, it appears to have a bowtie hiding behind some camo in the center of the grille, which otherwise looks like the no-bowtie option you can get on 2019-and-up trucks. It could be that Chevy is keeping the no-bowtie grille design but allowing a bowtie to grace it, or it could be misdirection. Either way, the grille pattern adds a bit of flair to the otherwise staid front end design. There also appears to be a bit more shape to the lower air inlet, with echoes of some of the lower fascias of its bigger Silverado stablemate. The Canyon, on the other hand, shows more extensive front-end changes. At first glance, it looks to emulate some variants of the GMC Sierra, which would make sense given those modelsÂ’ changes for the 2020 model year. In particular, this Canyon has hints of Sierra HD, being more square and monolithic than the regular Sierra 1500s, although itÂ’s a little hard to tell with the camo covering the edges of the grille. It could certainly also adopt more rounded corners like the 1500s. Either way, itÂ’s more vertical and thereÂ’s less differentiation between the upper grille and lower opening. ThereÂ’s nothing in the way of changes around the sides or back, and while there may be some minor changes inside, we arenÂ’t expecting any. The word around town is that this isnÂ’t a full facelift, but rather a minor front end tweak thatÂ’ll just be a regular part of the model-year changeover.Â
GM recalling 521,817 cars in two campaigns
Tue, May 12 2015General Motors is issuing two, separate recalls covering a total of 521,817 vehicles worldwide. The larger campaign covers 468,887 units of the 2011-2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Specifically, 437,045 of these are in the US, and the rest are outside the country. In these sedans, a steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate. GM knows of 36 claims about the problem but only one minor injury. According to The Detroit News, this happened when a taxi driver hit his head. To fix things, dealers will replace the "outboard lap mounting bracket," which will move the tensioner rearward. They'll also inspect and if necessary replace the steel cable and lap pretensioner. In the second campaign, 52,930 examples the 2015 Chevy Colorado and 2015 GMC Canyon have seat frame attachment hooks that were installed incorrectly during assembly. GM hasn't received any reports of crashes, injuries, or fatalities about this problem. Dealers will inspect the affected trucks and repair as necessary. GM spokesperson Alan Adler told Autoblog that he didn't yet have a specific date when affected owners would receive official mailings about either of these recalls. GM Statement General Motors is recalling 48,309 2015 model year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks in the U.S. because certain seat frame attachment hooks were not properly attached to the vehicle body during assembly. Dealers will inspect the potentially affected seats for proper installation and repair if necessary. GM knows of no crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition. The total vehicle population of the recall is 52,930 including 4,620 vehicles sold in Canada. General Motors is recalling 437,045, 2011-2012 model year Chevrolet Malibus in the U.S. because the flexible steel cable that connects the safety belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate over time as a result of occupant movement in the seat. Dealers will replace the outboard lap mounting bracket to relocate the tensioner slightly rearward. Dealers will inspect the cable and, if necessary, replace the lap pretensioner. GM knows of 36 claims, no crashes or fatalities and one minor injury reportedly related to the condition. The total vehicle population of the recall is 468,887 including Canada, Mexico and exports.
