Normal wear to leather and window rubber insulation and carpet after 22 years. Otherwise fully tested my certified Chevy dealer passed smog and ready to sell. See description below."

There are NO major problems and it passed smog test last week! Pink slip is in my name and ready to sell. Expect for normal 22 year wear to seats and carpet, this car has a beautiful ocean teal (blue/green) exterior paint with a saddle brown leather bucket seat and black dash. People turn their heads to see this beauty. It has a fast stock 350 V-8 engine and is faster then metal frame cars with a 350-V8 engine, because the Corvette has a very light fiberglass body frame.
Preventive maintenance was preformed regularly by the certified Chevy dealer by original owner (a retired cop) and keep it running in top condition all these 22 years. Never in an accident.I bought it from him 2 years ago and put under 100 miles on it. My wife (also a senior citizen) said it felt too fast so this is the only reason I am selling it, to keep peace between us. I guess it is a young persons car.

More Details: VIN# 1G1YY2383M5115296
Engine and Auto Trans original. Both in excellent condition. No worn parts, no leaks and runs fast and smooth! Race track wide Corvette tires.
Recently replaced brakes, belts and hoses.
No radiator problems, no overheating, no leaks. Air-conditioner and heater work.
Good alternator and battery.
Powerful loud Kenwood AM/FM/CD Stereo system. Great sound quality!
Hatch back can be driven closed or in up position or even removed and all tools are included. This car even comes with a full service manual.
Power windows and seats all function well. The only problem was the window wiper motor needed replacing so I had it replaced.

Because it's 22 years old, I must sell it "AS IS". But "Feel Confident" Car runs great! And ready for a long trip too. Feel free to have a mechanic come over to check it out.
Please, Cash only, no checks. Test drives for serious potential buyers only. "Local SF bay area buyers only". Not to be shipped or sold without going to the local DMV to complete all paper work.

Contact information: Please leave your name and phone number or your email on my answering machine (415) 742-0050 or contact me through EBay. I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks You

GM will make Chevy Volt production announcement tomorrow

Mon, Apr 7 2014

Thing are apparently happening to get the next-generation Chevy Volt ready for public consumption. The most obvious proof is in a preview of an announcement (possibly coming tomorrow) that the two main places where General Motors gets the Volt ready -the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and the Brownstown Township battery assembly facility - will be getting big money upgrades and lots of new positions. The Hamtramck plant builds the Volt and its fancier cousin, the Cadillac ELR, as well as the global versions of the Volt. The Detroit News reports that GM will add 1,400 jobs and spend roughly $450 million at the two locations in order to build the redesigned Volt. What's less clear is exactly what the updates will bring us. We've heard that the new volt will be a 2016 model and come on a new chassis. Speculation in The Detroit News about tomorrow's announcement runs the gamut from a new compact PHEV with less electric range and a lower price (which makes sense) to an updated Volt with more electric range (heard it before) to a new all-electric vehicle (the moon shot). If there's any hints to be gleaned in the international Volts, there are also reports coming in that the Opel brand will get an all-electric vehicle that is cheaper than the Ampera. Read into that what you will. We pestered GM's Kevin Kelly on the new Volt (again) and he said (again) that he couldn't give out any more detail other than what's been reported. He just told AutoblogGreen that there will be an announcement tomorrow and that it will be about the Hamtramck and Brownstown facilities and involve the Volt. So, stay tuned.

Cadillac XT4 crossover to be built in Kansas City

Mon, Jan 8 2018

Cadillac's upcoming XT4, a crossover we've previously known as the XT3 in a long series of spy shots of heavily camouflaged mules, will be built at General Motors' assembly plant in Kansas City on the same platform as the Chevrolet Malibu, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the plan. That will give Cadillac another entry in the red-hot luxury crossover segment and, GM hopes, help to reverse a sales slump in the U.S. It'll also breath life into the Kansas City plant that makes the slow-selling Malibu, where GM cut a third shift last year, by sharing the assembly line between the crossover and sedan and defraying costs for each vehicle. The XT4 was known most recently as the XT3, with styling cues based on the Escala concept sedan from 2016. It's slightly smaller than the XT5, Cadillac's top-selling vehicle, and will also augment the full-size Escalade in Cadillac's stable of SUVs when it makes its expected debut later this year. Cadillac last week reported its second-highest-ever sales mark with 356,467 vehicles, an increase of 15.5 percent over 2016. But that mark papers over an 8 percent sales decline in the U.S. to 156,440 vehicles. The luxury brand is on a hot streak in China, where sales jumped 50.8 percent last year to 175,489 units.Related Video: Image Credit: Brian Williams Plants/Manufacturing Cadillac Chevrolet GM Crossover sales cadillac xt5 cadillac xt4 cadillac xt3

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
