Up for auction is my 1994 Admiral Blue/Black Corvette coupe.  Clean Carfax (ran when I bought it in 01/2012), 115,500 miles (less than 2K in the past two years), automatic, performance axle, sport seats (all air bladders and bolsters work), tire pressure warning indicators, Bose CD/cassette, clear blue tinted top.  The coolant and brake fluid were flushed and replaced in 08/2012 and the brakes are like new.  Last oil change approximately 300 miles ago.  It has replica black 17 X 9.5 Grand Sport wheels with Kumho ASX 275/40/17 tires all the way around.  Never been hit, but the nose was repainted by the previous owner after a minor mishap with a high curb which is why the corners are blue instead of black (between the lights).  Just passed California smog in 07/2013 with flying colors.  Brand new Duralast Gold battery installed 08/2013.  When I bought the car it only had one set of keys and one damaged but functioning key fob so that's what I have to pass along.  I also have the original owner's manual and targa top removal tool.  Clear title in hand.  This is a great looking, running and driving Corvette in good condition overall.

New items (past two years):

Leather shifter boot

Center console plate

Leather center console cushion

Air filter (K&N)

Muffler eliminators with LT1 tips (sounds AWESOME!)

Billet throttle body plate

Lloyds mats

Fuel door emblem

Coverking black leatherette seat covers

Car will come with two clear tops...one could be used a great core if desired

Pop out headliner for the clear top.  It keeps the sun out and can be easily removed/installed (suction cups)

Front spoiler kit (still in box, never installed)

Quicksilver cover (goes with the car)

The bad (very little):

The leather on the seats is tired and the driver’s side has the typical wear on the outer bolster and a small hole, so I bought covers rather than reskinning the seats.  They look great and are very comfortable.

The A/C doesn’t work and hasn’t since I’ve owned the car.  I'm more of a windows down guy so I never had it looked at.

Window tint will need replacing eventually, minor peeling that never bothered me.

Outer window sweeps will need replacing eventually ($65.00 dollar part)

Minor oil leak

Someone has already test driven the 2016 Chevy Volt

Mon, Aug 24 2015

Due to some well-placed connections at General Motors Canada headquarters in Oshawa, a senior member of the gm-volt.com forum with the handle "kickincanada" got about 30 minutes behind the wheel of a 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Kickincanada owns a 2012 Volt, and other than personal reservations over the styling of the new car, he came way nothing but impressed by the second-generation hybrid. He drove the Premier trim, posted his observations on the site, then answered questions for other owners desperate to find out what's coming. He said the interior materials are "more upscale," there is less hard plastic and better leather, the seats are more comfortable, and ergonomically, "Everything is beautifully laid out." Although obviously not as luxurious, the interior reminded him of the Cadillac ELR. Tech touches like a better display, Apple integration, a wireless charging area for the phone, heated rear seats, and a better rear console were also worth noting. As for driving, Kickincanada called it "incredible." The "much more luxurious drive" comes courtesy of a "firm and sporty" suspension setup, less NVH thanks to more sound insulation, quieter Michelin Energy Saver tires, and quieter operation of the genset ICE. He said acceleration from a standstill felt quicker because there was no delay between applying the throttle and the car taking off. He estimates owners should be able to get about 100 kilometers (62 miles) out of the electric mode alone on a full charge, and that the new Volt is "clearly improved in almost every way" (the car's official range, as determined by the EPA, is 53 electric miles). We look forward to finding out ourselves. Click through to gm-volt to read all of his thoughts and responses if there's a hybrid purchase in your future. Related Video:

GM Halts Sale Of Most Chevy Cruze Models

Fri, Mar 28 2014

General Motors has told dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars. But the company won't say why. Dealers say stop-sale orders are routine and almost always made to fix a safety problem. They received the order in an e-mail Thursday, but no reason was given. The move comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million older small cars to fix an ignition switch problem. The company says the switches can slip out of the run position and shut down the engine. That causes loss of power steering and brakes and disables air bags. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths. Spokesman Greg Martin says he has no details on the Cruze. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
