1982 Chevrolet Corvette

95,xxx miles

Black/Gray

Automatic

I have a 1982 Corvette for sale with 95, xxx miles.  I still drive this car, but not as often as I would like, so the miles will change slightly from what is shown in the pictures.  It has a stock 350ci engine with numbers matching.  I am deploying soon, and do not want to store it while I am gone.  I have the clear title in hand.

The paint is in good condition, given the age of the car with slight blemishes here and there.  As you can see in the pictures on the front bumper the previous owner bumped into a pole, which cracked the paint and gave the fiberglass that ripple effect, you see on most C3 Corvettes.  I was going to buy a car bra/nose mask to help cover up the eye sore on the front end, as a temporary fix until I got around to fixing it the correct way.  I have the front emblem in the glove box.  Besides the front bumper, all other panels on the car look true and straight.  The corvette has been kept in a garage or under a cover most of its life.

The tires are all brand new and so are the pads and rotors on all four wheels.  New steel-braided brake lines were ran, as well as a new distributor and new spark plugs. This corvette is an automatic and shifts very smoothly.  I have the headlight winter switch pulled up because only one headlight works correctly.  You can get a new pair of light actuators on eBay for $120.  I also just had the exhaust replaced with true dual 409 Stainless Steel.  The stock system had the y-pipe.  The new exhaust installed less than 1000 miles ago is from the manifold back.  I deleted the catalytic converter, and it exits out two Flowmaster super 44 stainless steel mufflers.  It has a nice rumble to it, but not obnoxiously loud.  The stainless steel system is built stronger then the aluminized steel replacement exhaust systems.

The interior is very clean with new leather seats and new carpet with Dynamat sound deadener underneath the entire floor.  There is a tear in the dash above the center instrument cluster.  The original radio is still in the car, but was unplugged when the carpet was installed and never plugged back in.  The car passed inspection in July, and if you get classic plates like I have then you do not need to get emissions done yearly (for PA).  The tachometer has not worked since I bought the car, but it is an automatic so you normally don’t watch the rpms.

Overall it is a strong, reliable car that I would not hesitate to take on any long trips.  She runs well and shifts smoothly.  I hate to see her go, but my loss is your gain.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me.  Or if you would like to see it in person, we can set up an appointment.  Car may also be listed for sale locally, so I have the right to end the auction early if need be.  Car is sold as is, with no warranty implied by owner.  Good Luck!

This part does not apply to most Ebay users, but after the run around with the last failed sale I felt the need to include it.

This Corvette is being re-listed due to a non-paying bidder (njborn89123).  I thought it was clear that the buyer should read the full description listed.  It is also the buyer’s responsibility to set up all shipping.  Finances are also your responsibility.  Please check to make sure you can afford to pay for this corvette before placing your bid.  Bidding on the vehicle to win is agreeing to pay for the merchandise listed, it does not mean ignoring the seller, playing dumb, and not actually planning on buying the car.  I am here to help in any legal way I can to make this a smooth transaction.  I check my inbox often to answer any questions that come up and I am more then happy to show the car in person during the listing.

2016 Chevy Volt powertrain technical details

Wed, Feb 11 2015

The last time General Motors launched a Chevy Volt, it was operating without really knowing how people would use the plug-in hybrid. Sure, it had experience with the EV1, but the Volt was a new kind of car, and you can see in the archives just how much time GM spent explaining this fresh, new powertrain to potential customers. Then, once the vehicle was released, the company collected voluntary data from a large number of owners to learn about their driving and charging habits. The company also asked them what they wanted most in the new version. There's got to be an algorithm buried somewhere in GM headquarters that was used to take all of the numbers GM collected and spat out the headline figures for the 2016 Volt: 50 miles of EV range and 41 miles per gallon. Another important number – price – is something GM isn't talking about yet (expect it in April or May), but the company is sharing some powertrain details about the upcoming car. At a preview lunch in Detroit last week for the SAE 2015 Hybrid & Electric Vehicles Technologies Symposium that's happening now in California, GM engineers Peter Savagian (who is presenting a paper on the new inverter used in the updated Volt) and Tim Grewe (talking about the entire second-generation powertrain) sat down with AutoblogGreen to tell us about the Volt's all-new propulsion system: The overall gist is that the new Voltec 5ET50 drive unit is lighter, smaller and more powerful thanks to a redesigned two-motor traction drive. As previously reported, the new engine is a 1.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder that offers 101-horsepower (at 5,600 RPM). Grewe said it's "great for range extension." The electric motor side of the powertrain offers 149 motoring horsepower from a two-motor, continuously variable transaxle. Initially, the new engine will be made in Mexico. GM will move production to Flint, MI during the first year it makes the 2016 Volt. The battery is slightly bigger in the new Volt – 18.4 kWh compared to 16.5 in the current-gen – and will have less range variation in the cold. GM is also using more of the overall capacity in the pack in the 2016 Volt than in previous versions, but is not saying how much more. GM is not ready to publish acceleration times just yet, but the 2016 Volt has improved numbers, especially when going from 30-60 miles per hour. Most everything on the new powertrain has become more efficient compared to the first-gen Volt.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

Best cars for snow and ice in 2023 and 2024

Tue, Jan 23 2024

What's the best car for snow? The real answer is "the one with winter tires." What do we mean by that? You could have the finest, most advanced all-wheel-drive system or four-wheel drive in the world, but if you're running all-seasons (the spork of tires), your fancy four-wheeler won't matter much. The odds are, any vehicle on the road running good winter tires will probably perform adequately in slippery, slushy and/or snowy road conditions. (Here's a more complete explanation of why winter tires are totally worth it). In other words, you don't really need any of the cars on this list. With a set of winter tires, countless others will do the job, and even these will be at their best with proper rubber. You can find a variety of winter tires for your car here at Tire Rack. Keep in mind that you will need a full set of four snow tires for safety and performance, no matter what you're driving. The days of your dad putting just two snows on the family truckster to get it moving in a straight line are long gone. Don't get us wrong, getting a car that performs well in snow and ice is still a worthy criteria for car buyers. According to the U.S. Transportation Department, 70% of Americans live in places that get snow and ice. And much of the country has been blasted with arctic air for much of the new year. So let's look at the cars. First, we're highlighting choices for a variety of buyers and price points. Second, we're not just considering snow; we're considering general wintery conditions people will experience driving to work or school. As such, these are all choices with advanced all-wheel-drive systems, usually with "torque-vectoring" systems that not only automatically shunt power front and back, but side to side between the rear axles. Most have extra ground clearance for getting through deep snow, and we prefer those vehicles with more responsive steering, throttles and transmissions that provide a greater sense of vehicle control in slippery conditions.    Acura RDX Read our Acura RDX Review Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system was one of the first to offer torque-vectoring, and besides often being touted for its ability to greatly enhanced dry-road handling, its benefits in the slick stuff can be profound. It's actually surprising that Acura hasn't leaned into this capability further by offering more rugged versions of its vehicles.
