Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is very proud to present this beautiful 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Custom Coupe. This car is owned by its original purchaser, a long-time GM Design Engineer, now retired. We have extensive documentation including the original order form, invoice, and window sticker for the car. In addition to having less than 70,000 original miles, the car has been restored extensively with some tasteful customizations. It has been garage kept from day one. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.

The exterior was originally silver. It has been professionally re-finished in black base/clearcoat. The paint and body is in excellent condition to say the least. The body panels align correctly throughout. This is a tight fitting Vette and a pleasure to drive.

The laser strip fade along either "shark gill" is reminiscent of the 1982 Collector's Edition. This car is a 25th Silver Anniversary edition.

The custom-fabricated side exhaust system fits this Corvette's persona to perfection. Be sure to listen to the car in our video! It sounds as perfect as a Corvette can. The exhaust support brackets are custom fabricated. These pipes are so well done, they appear factory. During the side exhaust installation, the exhaust manifolds were re-conditioned and studs/nuts replaced.

Senior Editor Alex Kierstein, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and Senior Green Editor John Beltz Snyder join me, Associate Editor Reese Counts — with Social Media Manager Michael Dylan Ferrara behind the camera — on a long walk through the show. We discuss cars, poke around the stands, dress a bloody wound and answer your questions in the Facebook comments. For more Detroit coverage, you can check out Autoblog's picks for the best in show, listen to our podcast or look at the best images from all the reveals. GM recalls select Tahoes, Yukons, Escalades for rear driveshaft issue

Mon, Feb 7 2022

GM is recalling a number of its full-size SUVs due to an issue with the rear driveshaft assembly that could ultimately result in driveshaft failure. The actual number of total vehicles involved in the recall is small at just 1,789, but it’s spread out across the entire 2021 model year full-size GM vehicle lineup. That means a small number of every model is being recalled, including the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. GM traced the issue back to certain driveshaft assemblies with ball bearings that were not properly heat treated. If theyÂ’re not properly heat treated, GM says that the balls may deform over time, causing noise and vibration. Continue to drive in this condition, and GM says the affected joint in the driveshaft assembly could seize, causing loss of drive power. However, the problem wonÂ’t present itself all at once, as GM says there will be a gradual increase of noises and vibrations before total failure. For those few owners with affected vehicles, GM says that it will replace the left and right rear driveshaft assemblies with properly-built units. Per usual with recalls, this will be done at your local dealership at no cost to the owner. If you have one of the recalled SUVs, expect to be notified mid-March. Related video:
