This 1977 Corvette is one of the nicest original untouched Survivor cars that you will find. Everything on this car is virtually untouched and in excellent condition. Only one repaint and done very nice a few years ago. All door jambs, hood lips, are all untouched original paint, and with all decals, labels, weatherstrips, etc. You cannot really appreciate this car until you see and drive it! Finished in Medium Red with Black Deluxe Leather Interior. No-Hit body as well. All Window glass is original and correctly date coded including the rare rear window defogger glass. The aluminum wheels show very nice and we just installed new BF/Goodrich Radial TA's White Lettered this week. The size is the correct one for the car in P225/70R15. The spare tire and wheel is an original one and still has the label on it. The paint still shows very well but is not perfect. Body fit is as nice as they come. The chassis is untouched and original including the original exhaust system and catalytic converter with the exception of new mufflers recently installed. All original frame in excellent no rust condition, original spare tire tub, no dents in frame as you will see in most of these cars due to a post lift or heavy jack. All interior is near perfect with no tears, rips, or even flaws. The dash pad, all instruments, console, seat belts, carpeting, all look as if it is new but is all original. All indicator lights on dash work, a/c still works and blows cold, headlights open and close properly, just as it left the factory in 1977! Original jack and lug wrench untouched, T-Top Leather storage bags still where they are suppose to be, even the strap that holds the T-tops in place behind the seat still there. You can clearly see the factory red paint in the rear storage compartment area along with factory overspray underneath fender wells as it should be. Chassis markings and inspection markings, labels, are still visible. The front and rear bumpers are very nice and soft, unlike most that are brittle and cracked due to improperly stored and weathered. This Corvette has definitely been cared for and stored properly with minimal deterioration. I have seen Corvettes with even less miles than this one and do not look as good! Excellent Investment car that is still affordable. Corvettes like these are fast appreciating as there is not many left.

Interesting 1977 Corvette Facts:

This was the last year for the straight back window

A new console held heater and a/c controls and accepted standard Delco radios due to its increased depth. A new steering column positioned the steering wheel two inches closer to the instrument panel to provide more of an "arms out" driving position., and easier entry and exit.

The interior rearview mirror was relocated from above the windshield to the windshield itself.

Headlight dimmer switch and windshield wiper controls were moved and located on the steering column stalks.

Leather Seats were standard

The factory alarm system that was located on the drivers side front fender was moved in mid production to the drivers side door lock

Very early 1977 Model Corvettes engine blocks were painted Chevrolet Orange and Mid to late production all were painted blue as this car is.

GM takes 2020 full-size pickup sales crown

Thu, Jan 7 2021

It's no secret that 2020 was an unconventional year for auto sales. Extenuating circumstances or not, it was a year of upheaval even for ever-resilient (and ever-profitable) pickups, with General Motors taking the crown from Ford in the full-size segment.  The Ford F-Series still outsold every other full-size pickup nameplate in the country by a significant margin. It's only when you combine GM's Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra variants that you get a number that exceeds Ford's. This isn't really a new phenomenon, either. In fact, it was only somewhat recently that Ford took the overall full-size crown away from GM, and not only did Ford widen the gap in recent years, but Ram has once again become a legitimate challenger, even managing to outsell the Silverado by a healthy margin in 2019, but never coming close to the F-Series in terms of total volume.  But, 2020 being 2020, things got weird yet again. Ram remains relevant, of course, but Ford got caught with its pants down thanks to the one-two punch of COVID and the generational changeover of the core F-150 model, which resulted in a production interruption as the company's assembly facilities transitioned from building the old 2020 model to the new-for-2021. This perfect storm, as it turns out, was sufficient for GM to walk away with the full-size crown. See for yourself: Full-size 2020 pickup sales: GM total: 847,110 F-Series: 787,422 Silverado: 594,094 Ram: 563,676 Sierra: 253,016 Tundra: 109,203 Titan: 26,439 As you can see, Ram slipped back behind Silverado, slotting comfortably into third place. The Silverado 1500 had a flat year, but the heavy- and medium-duty variants bucked the trend and contributed to a slight uptick in sales for the nameplate, while F-Series tumbled more than 12% (nearly 110,000 units), opening the door for GM to steam ahead.  There were similarly significant shakeups in the midsize truck segment. First, 2020 was the first full year of retail sales for the Gladiator pickup, which surged to fourth place behind the stalwart Tacoma, Ranger and Colorado. GM's combined sales of the Colorado and Canyon are good enough for second place by manufacturer, but nowhere close to what it would take to dethrone Toyota.

What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.
