You are bidding on a matching number’s 1971 Corvette Stingray with 350 small block 270hp and 85k original miles.

This car was bought from the son of the original owner who decided to park this car once his mother past away around 10 years ago, the car was stored in a garage and was turned on often.

I bought the car with the intention to restore it and keep it, but life has new plans for me and I have now decided to let it go.

I am listing below all the work I have done since I started the restoration. I have tons of receipts and pictures from all parts on restoration process that I can share with you upon request.

This is not a show room condition car by any means but with some work it will not be far from getting there. That’s why I have set a very fair reserve price considering the time and money I have invested.

Body:

The car has been repainted by a professional to its original color Mille Miglia Red using PPG paint and very nice finish. Under seal was used underneath the fenders for extra protection. Never been wrecked or damaged.

All door seals have been replaced: Door Seals, Pillar Seals, T-Top Seal, Rear Window Seals, hood to cowl seal, Rear Window Weather Strip and Outer Window Door Seal.

The undercarriage is rust free.

Exterior:

Front and rear original bumpers have been professionally re chromed and now they look absolutely stunning with no imperfections at all.

All emblems have been replaced using brand new original parts and not cheap reproductions: Front Nose Emblems (OEM), Fender emblems ‘’Stingray’’ (OEM), Gas Cap Emblem (OEM) and Rear Panel Emblems ‘’Corvette’’ (OEM).

New Outside Door handles with gaskets, GM reproduction part (Not OEM)

New Door & Ignition Lock Set (Not OEM)

New outside mirror with gasket (OEM)

New Exhaust Tips and Bezels (Not OEM)

New rear license bezel (Not OEM)

New door strikers (OEM)

Interior:

The car still retains its original seat covers, they are well preserved considering its age, it could use new covers though. Seat foams were replaced, carpet is in very good condition.

Dash looks really nice, all the gauges work as they should (Speedometer, Tachometer, Battery, Oil Pressure, and even the radio), clock stop working.

Wiper spoiler has been fixed and now it works perfectly.

New tachometer cable

New Rear view mirror (GM reproduction parts)

New door sills (Not OEM)

Tires:

This car has brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, rear 235/70/R15 and front 225/70/R15 with less than 100 miles in them. Near perfect condition original center caps and brand new reproduction wheel trim rings. The rally wheels are original and were sand blasted and painted silver.

Brakes:

Brand new front and rear brake rotors and pads. Brand new brake booster.

Suspension:

Brand New front and rear AC Delco Gas Shocks Absorbers

Engine & Transmission:

Matching number’s 350 small block engine with 270hp and 85k original miles.

The car runs great, no oil or transmission leaks, tranny shifts smooth through all the gears. I have used this car as my weekend car and I have never abused it.

The things I have done to the engine are as follows:

New valve steam seals

New spark plugs and wires.

New PCV valve

New oil filter

New timing chain kit

New intake gaskets

New recall issued in 2019 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra brake software saga

Tue, Feb 11 2020

General Motors (GM) has issued a new recall for select 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks that aims to resolve a faulty fix for a previous recall. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) campaign No. 20V055000, a software update for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) could cause the electronic brake assist to be disabled.  The NHTSA first launched a recall for 463,995 Silverados, Sierras, and Cadillac CT6es on December 12, 2019 due to a software issue in the electronic brake control module (EBCM) that could disable the electronic stability control (ESC) and anti-lock braking system (ABS). As a response and resolution to that recall, GM began to reprogram the software in affected vehicles. GM later learned that the fix was creating a different problem. The installed software had its own error that was disabling the electronic brake assist. If customers see “Service Brake Assist” or “Service ECS" diagnostic warnings, they should park the vehicle and have it towed to a dealership, GM warns. While GM was going through the process of testing, pinpointing the issue, determining action and working with the NHTSA, safety experts have criticized Chevrolet and GMC for not reacting promptly and appropriately.  According to the recall, 148,055 are now affected, all of which do not meet the standards of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control" and 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems." To fix the braking issue, GM will once again reprogram the software. GM began notifying owners of the recall on February 10, 2020. Related Video:

Hoons off-road in a lowrider Monte Carlo in latest Roadkill video

Wed, May 6 2015

Specialization keeps the automotive world interesting because it creates all sorts of fun niches. For example, if you like hot rods, you can dive deep into the world of rat rods or just focus on cars with a more traditional look. In some cases the myriad styles don't mix very well, of course, and the folks at Roadkill are proving that on video by attempting to take a lowrider Chevrolet Monte Carlo from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on dirt. As you might expect, forcing a lowrider off-road doesn't go well, but the stunt makes for a great chronicle of dumb, automotive fun. Other than some repairs to get the Monte Carlo roadworthy, the only modification here is a set of knobby tires to achieve at least a modicum of traction on the loose rocks. Although, no matter what they do, at the even lowest speeds the hosts inside are still bounced around like they're in an inflatable castle at a kid's birthday party. Still, the guys are clearly amused by it all.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.
Scroll down for the official NHTSA statement.
