This is a matching number 327/365 hp, 4-spd 1965 Corvette Convertible. The restoration was started some years ago and the body was taken off the frame at that time. The frame is immaculate and has been all sandblasted and painted with new fuel lines, brake lines, body mounts, front end etc. The body was remounted and the car was painted with its original Rally Red color. The paint was done some time ago and it looks okay, but is not real nice. There are scrapes and dings and touchups all over and the gaps at the doors aren't real nice. The chrome bumpers are pretty good though. The interior is supposed to be black, but the previous owner started to convert it to red, so I kept it going. The seats have been recovered and both dash pads and the door panels have been replaced with red ones. This project still needs to be finished. The car has a new engine and dash wiring harness, but I only hooked up the ignition portion so the car can be started and moved. Of course, you can drive the car around and shift through all four gears, but the rest of the harness and the new light harness need to be installed. The headlight motors are in the buckets. The brakes and suspension on the car are all good and it drives quite well. There still are some parts missing, the most expensive of which is probably the clock, but I may have one soon. I have the rear view mirror, side mirror and horn button. Also I believe I have all the pieces of the ignition shielding and they are original. I also have a new power antenna and the spare tire bucket. The convertible top frame is good with a new header bow, but it needs a soft top. The side exhaust pipes are original NOS GM. The 327/365 hp engine seems to be all original and matching and even the 4-spd Muncie M-21 transmission is matching numbers with the VIN. The block casting number is 3782870 with a casting date of L 28 4. The heads are cast 3782461 with matching casting dates of L 14 4. The assembly date on the block is 12 29 and of course the HL code is there along with the VIN# of the car. The intake is 3844461. You can hear the solid lifters clacking away in the engine and it runs strong. Overall, this car is not going to win Bloomington Gold, but all the work that needs to be done can be finished by one individual with very little that needs to be purchased, unless you want to repaint the car. Matching number 327/365hp cars are very hard to find, especially real red ones with the original tranny. I priced the car very reasonable to help pay for another car, so please be serious of you bid. Remember this is an ongoing project and like most things on ebay it probably looks better in the pictures than in real life. The fuel injection emblems were put there by the previous owner to clone a fuel car. The emblems are original and I may still be able to get the fuel unit he was going to use if someone is interested, but this is a 365hp corvette, not a real 375ph fuel car.

GM wants to have 10 plug-in models in China in five years
Sun, Apr 24 2016Last we checked, General Motors was selling all of three plug-in vehicle models in its home country of the US, and is prepared to make the Chevrolet Bolt EV available on these shores later this year. So it's notable that the automaker is hatching plans to have at least 10 plug-in variants for sale in China within the next five years, according to Hybrid Cars. Which plug-ins are coming remains a mystery. GM started selling a hybrid version of the Buick LaCrosse in China this month. The strategy makes sense, as China is now the world's largest car market, and accounts for about a third of GM's annual revenue. The automaker, which operates in China under the SAIC-GM and SAIC-GM-Wuling joint ventures, sells cars there under the Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, and Boujun badges, and has been doing so for the better part of two decades. Most recently, GM started selling a hybrid version of the Buick LaCrosse in China this month. What we do know is that GM is building its Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid in China, with distribution to be split between China and the US. That model, which is scheduled to start sales by the end of the year, is being built overseas because of a combination of Chinese government support for new-energy vehicle technology through incentives and the fact that battery-pack maker LG Chem makes most of its cells in nearby South Korea. The plug-ins are part of a broader plan by General Motors to either introduce or substantially tweak about 60 models by the end of the decade. With such new models, GM looks to boost unit sales by as much as five percent a year for the next few years. As for the other nine plug-in models slated for China by 2021, the company is mum. GM spokesman Dan Flores declined to comment to AutoblogGreen. GM patent reveals new two-stage turbocharger
Fri, Jun 24 2016Modern turbochargers may be some of the best ever made, but performance is something that engineers are always trying to improve. According to GM Inside News, General Motors (GM) is hoping to alleviate some of the negative aspects of a two-stage turbocharger setup with a newly-patented design. The patent, that was filed on May 19, 2016, reveals a clever bypass system that allows the engine, a four-cylinder unit, to optimize both the low-pressure and high-pressure inlets for its respective functions. According to the filing, a conventional two-stage turbocharger setup is engineered to allow both turbines to operate simultaneously at low and mid engine speeds. At high engine speeds, only the low-pressure turbine works. The setup can't isolate either the low or high pressure side, which can impair low-end performance. GM's new two-stage turbocharger setup looks to eliminate this by linking the high-pressure turbo to the exhaust manifold through the high-pressure inlet duct. The low-pressure turbo is attached to the high-pressure turbo by a low-pressure inlet duct, which is linked to a connecting channel. A single actuator that is housed in the exhaust manifold creates a bypass that can opens the high-pressure inlet or close the connecting channel. Depending on what the engine load and speed is, the ECU guides the actuator—a single rotating spindle with discs corresponding to flanges on the high and low pressure sides—to isolate one of the two turbos. Isolating the turbos allow the respective inlets to be engineered for the best possible fluid dynamic performance. The setup should increase performance and decrease lag. There's no word on what car this setup will make an appearance on, but it will most likely be used in premium vehicles before trickling down to the rest of GM's vehicles. GM says over 40% of new China launches in next five years will be EVs
Wed, Aug 19 2020SHANGHAI — General Motors is planning an electric car offensive in China with more than 40% of its new launches in the country over the next five years set to be electric vehicles (EVs), the U.S. carmaker said on Wednesday. GM's electric vehicles, many of which will be all-electric battery cars, will be manufactured in China with almost all parts coming from local suppliers, the company said in a statement released at its Tech Day event in Shanghai. Reuters reported earlier on Wednesday that GM was planning to overhaul its Chinese line-up to stem a slide of sales after more than two decades of growth in a country that contributes nearly a fifth of its profit. GM's new China boss Julian Blissett told Reuters that new technologies, such as EVs and cars with near hands-free driving for highways, would play a key role in GM's China initiatives, which are part of a push to get annual sales in the country back to the 4 million peak it hit in 2017. GM did not say in its statement how many new or significantly redesigned models it was planning to launch in China over the next five years. "China will play a crucial role in making our vision a reality," GM CEO Mary Barra said in the statement, referring to its initiative to create what it describes as a future of "zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion" through electrification and smart-driving technologies. GM has said it plans to invest more than $20 billion in electric and automated vehicles globally by 2025. It was not clear how much of that investment will be spent in China.
