1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

and Alternator
Restored car with restoration photos and receipts. More photos of the car available upon request.
The trim tag verifies that this car was a Riverside Red Exterior with Black Vinyl Interior.
5 New Reproduction Knock-Off Aluminum Wheels with Correct Goodyear Bias Ply Whitewall Tires (6.70 X 15)
Jack, Lead Hammer, and the spare tire lock included with the car.
This 1964 Corvette is a nice one. This description will be long and lengthy but needs to be told as this corvette
has had a lot of restoration work done. We have owned this corvette before back in 2000 when the restoration was
done. We sold this actual car in 2001 and have just purchased it back from that same owner for all of these past 15
years. That owner kept the car always inside and preserved well as you can see from the chassis in the photos. It
has been driven regularly (fair weather only) and serviced whether it needed it or not. Only approx. 2,000 miles
have been put on the car since sold back in 2001. The miles shows now 67,458 and although possibly could be actual,
we cannot guarantee them. The corvette is finished in correct riverside red with black interior. The trim tag shows
this as well unlike most cars were they were silver or blue and then changed into red. The car was repainted at the
time of the restoration and was done in base coat clear coat finish. The paint still shines well and is very
presentable. The bonding strips are intact on the car. The trim was all removed when painted. The doors open and
close with ease and shut nicely. The windshield was replaced and all of the stainless trim was polished out nicely.
The windshield rubber was replaced along with the wiper arms. The overall car was done right and still looks as
good as the day it was finished.
Many new correct parts were replaced on the car from Long Island Corvette. This includes new GM front and rear
bumpers, new tail lights, new license plate bezel, license plate light restored, new gas door lid, new rocker
moldings, new door handles, new outside mirror, new emblems, new deck lid latches, new wiper arms, grill was
removed and polished, all bumper brackets were refinished and new hardware installed, new correct Dewitt dated
coded radiator and overflow tank installed in the car, new hoses and correct clamps, heater box removed and
correctly refinished, new heater core, new heater hoses, engine totally stripped down to bare and refinished, new
correct ignition shielding, fan shroud refinished along with all of the pulleys and fan blade, new fan clutch,
radiator support removed and painted, valve covers refinished, all suspension removed and rebuilt on the car
including new tie rod ends, new shocks, a-arms completely removed refinished glossy as they should be and new
bushings installed, new half shafts, driveshaft and rear leaf spring all refinished, new correct gas tank from
Quanta with a new sending unit, rear trailing arms all removed and rebuilt, new brakes, lines, all drum brake
assemblies removed and not only rebuilt but restored nicely, drums blasted and painted, front sway bar refinished,
spare tire compartment restored, all new correct aluminized exhaust system from corvette central with all hangers,
clamps, and heat shields like the originals, new exhaust bezels and extensions, rear end assembly painted a cast
blast to prevent from rusting, new shifter and linkage, oil pan and entire block repainted, just about everything
was refinished on the car to make it look like it does in the photos. The frame was repainted in semi-gloss black
and inspection markings put back on it like from the factory. Underbody has never been undercoated and you can see
just how nice the bare fiberglass floors are in the photos. When the car was restored it was the goal to do it
right with markings and labels. The car does drive nice and tight and shifts smoothly. Plenty of power and the
engine runs out smoothly.
The interior on the car is very nice. The seat covers, carpet, and door panels are all new from Al Knock when
restored. The carpet is fitted like it should with little to no wrinkles, the dash pads are near perfect originals
only redyed to match the rest of the interior, also no evidence of cracks or repairs on them, the console was
restored along with the glovebox door, new glovebox liner and the light does still work, new ash tray and shifter
boot, clock restored with quartz movement, original am/fm radio still works, new rear jack board, new reproduction
style seat belts, instruments all work and are original, gauges are not perfectly fresh but are very presentable
and the odometer still does work, the steering wheel is extremely nice with no splits or cracks, new horn button,
and the list goes on. The convertible softop is white vinyl and does present itself well. The back window is no
discolored and the softop does fit good with the window glass up. The softop however is not perfect and has been on
the car for the past 15 plus years. I personally would not install a new top on the car because it is to good to
redo, however I do have a new softop from Al Knock still in the box that is included with the sale of the car.
There was about $16,000 spent on the car back then not counting the paint job or any labor on the car.
This corvette is restored nicely. No perfect but after looking at what is for sale out there I believe you could
not get one into this condition for what my reserve is. At todays cost and labor to restore a car like this could
easily cost you $50,000 plus the cost of the corvette. You are better off to buy one like this one than to buy a
project car and never see it finished and when you do you end up having $100,000 in it!
The features on this car include:
327 C.I. V8 250 H.P. Engine (Matching Numbers)
4-Speed Manual Transmission
Positraction Rear Axle

be.

The corvette is a nice example of a 1964 model convertible. Very presentable not only on the top side but
underneath as well. Something that you can show and drive as well. We have driven it about 100 miles since we
purchased the car back. Included with the sale is a portfolio of the car with restoration photos and receipts
showing the chassis dismantled. There is also some title history dating back about 20 years where the car has been
in the southwest part of Missouri the entire time, assembly manual and shop manual, sales brochure, owners manual,
spare tire lock, jack and lead hammer for KO Wheels, new softop still in the box, nice indoor car cover, and some
other information pertaining to this corvette over the past 15+years.

Camaro-based Trans Am SE Bandit Edition borrows Burt Reynolds

Tue, Mar 29 2016

For some reason, modifying modern Chevrolet Camaros into the lurching, reincarnated shells of the Pontiac brand is still a thing. If you're the perverse sort that likes this kind of thing, you should check out the latest product from the Trans Am Depot, which comes complete with an endorsement from the star of Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds. Yes, the new Trans Am SE Bandit Edition has been signed and endorsed by the man himself, but what's important here is not the signature on the dash, it's the bits of Camaro that have been modified. Aesthetically, that means a Bandit-and-Frog-approved set of T-tops, a front-opening hood with a very large, prominent shaker scoop, an equally large and prominent screaming chicken, and Trans Am-inspired front and rear fascias. And naturally, Burt Reynolds' signature adorns the dash. There are plenty of reminders in the cabin about this car's Hollywood inspiration, too. Bandit decals can be found on the front headrests and center console lid, there are chicken wings on the Camaro-spec plastic door inserts, and the black-and-tan color scheme matches nicely with the exterior look. And power? Well, Sheriff Buford T. Justice would have a lot more trouble keeping up with this Trans Am than he did with the original. The 7.4-liter LSX V8 has been paired with a 2.9-liter supercharger which is good for 840 horsepower. It's fast and loud, and even if you can't get behind the look (we can't), at least this Camaro-in-Trans Am's clothing can impress with its performance. The Bandit Edition is limited to just 77 units with prices starting around $115,000. You can check out the official video from Trans Am Depot, which comes with a decent helping of Burt Reynolds, up top. Related Video:

Fernando Alonso fails to qualify as Pagenaud takes Indy pole

Mon, May 20 2019

Former Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso narrowly failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday as France's Simon Pagenaud took pole position for the May 26 race. Kyle Kaiser beat out Alonso for the final spot in the 33-car field when he finished third, one spot ahead of the Spaniard, in a six-car shootout that determined the Indy 500's last row. The 23-year-old Kaiser, the last driver to take the track, averaged 227.372 mph for his four laps, a mere 0.019 mph ahead of Alonso's 227.353 mph average in the McLaren-prepared Chevrolet. "We never surrendered. We kept trying," Alonso, 37, told reporters after a tough week at the famed speedway. The Spaniard crashed his Chevrolet in practice on Wednesday and missed nearly two full days of practice while a back-up car was prepared. Then he tried five times on Saturday to qualify, puncturing a tire on the first attempt. Alonso had a completely new set up for Sunday's shootout but could not get the speed he needed to qualify. "I think the car felt better today than what we had yesterday. (So I am) happy with things we tried," he told reporters before learning he had not qualified. Pagenaud had a four-lap average speed of 229.992 mph to become the first Frenchman to take the pole since Rene Thomas in 1919. "It's just amazing," Pagenaud, who last week won the IndyCar Grand Prix on the track's road course, told NBC Sports. "Obviously last week was amazing, but this is even more special." He will be joined by Ed Carpenter (229.889) and Spencer Pigot (229.826) on the front row. But the Cinderella story belonged to Kaiser, the 33rd qualifier. "I don't think I can wrap my mind around what we just did," he said after bumping Alonso from the field. "This is all the credit to the team. They've been working non-stop trying to get this car ready for us and they did everything that we needed to get into this field." New Chevy Malibu helps parents monitor teen driver's performance

Thu, Apr 2 2015

For teens, a driver's license can represent freedom. For parents, it can represent fear. Now there's a way parents can alleviate some of their worries and monitor their teen drivers. The 2016 Chevy Malibu, which debuted Wednesday at the New York Auto Show, contains a new feature that tracks driving performance and helps inexperienced drivers rein in some of their more dangerous habits. Accessed through a password in the car's infotainment system, parents can learn how far their child has driven, how fast they've gone and how many times they've braked hard, among other features. "It's an in-vehicle report card that gives parents information," says Mary Ann Beebe, one of the lead engineers who designed the system. "It's meant to be used as a teaching tool. Parents can sit down and talk with their teen about, 'Here are some areas where you're doing well, and here's some where you can use improvement.'" Car accidents are the leading cause of death for teens ages 16 to 19, and only last week, AAA released a study that found their driving behavior can leave them particularly susceptible to crashes. General Motors had sought ways to help educate and train younger drivers. In an era where data can be harvested from cars, monitoring performance is one way to provide information. Parents access the Teen Driver system in the car through a PIN-number entered into the Malibu's infotainment system. The report card can only be seen in the car – so far, it's not available via a smartphone app, like some other types of on-board diagnostic information. The system is activated by the use of a specially programmed key fob that lets the system know who is driving the car. Once the vehicle recognizes the key fob, it takes preventive measures to ensure safer conduct behind the wheel: Until the driver and front passenger buckle their seat belts, the radio is muted. Safety systems such as forward-collision assist and electronic stability control are automatically turned on. Parents can preset preferred speed limits, and drivers will hear a warning if that sound is exceeded. "We have these great technologies, and we want to make sure we turn them on for the teen," Beebe said. There are no geo-location aspects of the program, and data is stored on the car, not uploaded to the Cloud or even seen by General Motors, she said.
