A good driving collectible. It runs great and I can send you video if you request - only serious requests please.
I bought this truck about 5 years ago in Missouri and it's obvious underneath that this truck has probably always been driven it's whole life as it should be. It has the trailing arm suspension and rides very nice and smooth with just a little float, if you know what I mean? The body is in the condition indicated by the numerous photos. I took them from everywhere possible to give you an accurate impression of the condition. To me, it is a 30 footer, for those not familiar, it looks great from 30 feet, however up close, you will see signs of use. The paint is obviously not factory paint and whoever did it may not have had a lot of experience. I only suggest this because it is swirly in a couple of places, has spider cracking in places and some of the spider cracks have raised the paint and then there is rust underneath some of them. I can honestly say in the 5 years I've owned it, having driven it only around 500 miles, the condition of the paint hasn't changed much if at all.
It uses about 1/4 quart of oil per tank of gas, and the gasket between the transmission and output shaft housing is leaking transmission fluid. I add about a quart or two every year. The power steering fluid leaks and I can't nail that one down to a specific part.
Please bid with confidence that you could fly here and drive it home, keeping an eye on the fluids, and spending a small fortune for gas. I've heard these get around 10 mpg, but then you're not buying it for that.
It's pretty much stock except for the steering wheel, tack and stereo. It has the factory a/c compressor and condenser still in place, I believe the whole system is in it. I will have a panel for the glove box door before the end of the auction so ignore it in the pics. Its a nice truck to drive and you'll get the looks.
Not very visible in the pics so I'm pointing out that there are some rust bubbles on the wheel wells, but under the hood it's relatively clean. The wheels have some rust spots, but I haven't tried chrome polish on them yet and will update you if you ask about if it works. Best guess would be a few rust spots on each wheel will be through the plating. Also, the passenger door button on the outside fell into the door and I haven't and won't have time to fix it. Look at LMC Trucks website or elsewhere, restoration parts for these are readily available.
The auction is no reserve so bid to win and you will. The truck must be picked up by July 10th, or between Aug 10-14th. We are moving which is why I'm selling, no storage where I'm going. Please check shipping options.

Mysterious white powder discovered at GM Orion Assembly
Fri, Sep 2 2016Workers at General Motors Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township, MI uncovered a mysterious white powder in two different parts of the factory earlier this week, raising concerns about worker safety. "We can confirm that an unknown substance (white powder) was found on the floor outside of Gate 6 at Orion Assembly on Monday, August 29. On Tuesday, August 30, we had a second report of a bottle containing a similar substance found inside the plant," GM spokesperson Dayna Hart told The Oakland Press via email. GM stressed that incident didn't disrupt operations at the plant, and that the company was taking steps to ensure the safety of the sprawling factory's workers. That did include, an anonymous worker told The Oakland Press, closing off parts of the factory for two full days, as drug-sniffing dogs and crews in haz-mat suits descended on the area. "A sample of the substance has been sent to a laboratory for identification and results are expected later this week," Hart said. "All findings and actions have been shared with our employees." Orion Assembly currently builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, and will eventually be responsible for production of the new, all-electric Chevy Bolt early next year. Related Video:
Chevy teases next-gen Volt at fan event in LA
Thu, Nov 20 2014Barely two months before its planned debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet has released yet another batch of teaser images of its second-generation Volt. Unlike the first image, though, which just showed the car's rear badge, there's a lot more to this quartet of shots. The first three images show off the nose of the next-gen model and come from a fan event in Los Angeles. What we can see is a sleeker front end, with an evolution of the silver grille inserts previously seen on the original Volt and Spark EV. Gone is the current car's split upper grille, in favor of a more conventional arrangement. The sharper, more angular headlights are also an evolution of the lamps seen on the current Volt. Chevrolet also took the opportunity to announce a new location-based charging system that uses GPS to adjust the vehicle's charge settings, including the charge level, while also announcing that the next-gen car will feature more intuitive charge indicators that will be better able to inform owners of their car's charging level. The tech will mean that the Volt 'knows' when it is parked at home, and can thus automatically optimize charging for off-peak times, and so on. Take a look at the teaser images at the top of the page, and then head below for Chevy's press release announcing the new features. Next-Gen Chevy Volt Offers More User-Friendly Charging 2014-11-20 GPS makes charging more convenient Portable charger is easier to access Intuitive visual cues show charge status DETROIT – If there's one thing Chevrolet Volt owners love about their cars, it's being able to recharge the battery easily. Evidence of that is a U.S. Department of Energy study that shows more than 80 percent of all trips by Volt owners did not use the range extender. Chevrolet has made the charging system in the next-generation Volt even easier for customers to recharge the battery – and to check the charge status. The next-generation Volt debuts in January at the North American International Auto Show. "Chevrolet used the real-world experiences of today's Volt owners to make the charging process simpler and more convenient in the next-generation Volt," said Andrew Farah, chief engineer for the Volt.
Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers
Wed, Aug 14 2024Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
