ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL SHOW WINNING 1971 CHEVY CHEVELLE

I REALLY FEEL HONORED TO BE ABLE TO LIST SUCH A KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF 1971 CHEVELLE. I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT OVER THE YEARS I HAVE OWNED AND BUILT ALOT OF CHEVELLES AND I HAVE TO SAY IT IS NOT TO OFTEN YOU COME ACROSS A CHEVELLE AT THIS CALIBER. SO WHAT COMES TO MIND WHEN YOU THINK OF 70'S MUSCLE? IF CHEVELLE DOES NOT COME TO MIND, THEN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU. THIS 1971 CHEVELLE IS AS NICE AS THEY GET WITHOUT DROPPING A HUGE MOUNT OF CASH ON A REAL SS. THE CURRENT OWNER OF THIS CHEVELLE SS RECREATION BOUGHT THE CAR A FEW YEARS AGO AFTER THE PAST OWNER JUST COMPLETED A FRESH GROUND UP RESTORATION. HE WAS GOING TO DO A FRAME OFF RESTORATION, BUT THE CAR DIDN'T WARRENT IT. ALL THE BODY PANELS, FLOOR PANS AND TRUNK HAVE BEEN REPLACED. WHEN I HEARD THAT, I  LOOK TO SEE WHAT KIND OF JOB THEY DID ON IT. I HUNTED AROUND IN THE TRUNK AND UNDER IT AND I COULDN'T TELL WHAT WAS REPLACED IN THE TRUNK, THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST WORK I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE DOORS AND TRUNK LID WHERE NOT EVER REPLACED. ALL THE LINES ARE BEAUTIFUL AND THE GAPS ALL LOOK GREAT. I JUST TOOK THESE PICTURES RIGHT BEFORE LISTING ON E-BAY. THE BEAUTIFUL SUNFLOWER YELLOW PAINT LOOKS ALMOST FLAWLESS! THE BLACK SS STRIPS REALLY ADD TO THE MUSCLE LOOK! ALL THE CHROME HAS BEEN REMOVED AND REDONE AND LOOK AT THE SHINE! YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES THE CARPET, HEADLINER, SEATS AND DASH ARE ALL IN SHOW CONDITION, PLUS THERE IS A NEW VINYL TOP AND FRONT AND REAR NEW CHROME BUMERS.

THIS IS A NON-NUMBERS MATCHING CHEVELLE. THE MOTOR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT AND HOPPED UP 454 BIG BLOCK THAT YOU WILL HEAR COMING DOWN THE ROAD WELL BEFORE YOU SEE IT. THIS BIG BLOCK HAS BEEN BORED 30 OVER WITH OVAL PORT HEADS TO GIVE IT 9 TO 1 COMPRESSION. THIS BIG BLOCK BEAST HAS A COMPETITION CAM WITH 544 LIFT. THERE IS A 780 DEMON CARBURETOR THAT IS REALLY TUNED WELL. THERE IS A TRUBO 350 TRANS WITH B&M SHIFT KIT. THIS TRANS REALLY SHIFTS UP AND DOWN GREAT. IT HAS A WELL MATCHED 2800 STALL CONVERTER THAT REALLY WORKS GOOD WITH CAM AND THE FACTORY 12 BOLT POSI-TRAC REAR END THAT IS LOADED WITH 373 GEARS. IT IS SET UP WITH ADJUSTABLE REAR TRAILING ARMS, THAT WAY YOU CAN ADJUST THE WAY THIS CHEVELLE COMES OFF THE LINE. PLUS THE WHOLE FRONT END IS REBUILD FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.  IT HAS THAT RACE CAR SOUND WITH THE DUAL FLOWMASTER EXHAUST. THIS BAD BOY IS ROLLING ON CUSTOM 17" RIMS AND TIRES THAT FINISH OFF THAT CUSTOM MUSCLE LOOK. SO THIS CHEVELLE WILL RUN ON PUMP GAS, YOU ARE NOT HAVING TO PUT ADDITIVE IN AT EVERY FILL UP. THAT WAY YOU CAN DRIVE ANYWHERE YOU WANT WITH NO PROBLEMS. THIS BEAUTIFUL CHEVELLE HAS IT ALL! LOOKS, POWER AND A SMOOTH RIDE. IT DRAWS A CROWD EVERY WHERE IT GOES. I'M SURE I HAVE LEFT OUT SOMETHING, SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME A CALL OR EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS.

Chevy admits there's confusion over Bolt and Volt names

Fri, Feb 20 2015

Offering the possibility of 200 miles of driving range and the potential for a price of about $30,000, the Chevrolet Bolt is an incredibly enticing vehicle, and it has an opportunity to be a big player in the EV world. However, the hatchback has been plagued by one problem since the moment it debuted – the name. Bolt sounds very similar to Volt, Chevy's extended-range plug-in, and they can be easy to confuse in a conversation. That's not the best quality to have when trying to get a new vehicle's name out there among customers, and General Motors North America president Alan Batey told the Detroit Free Press that the company is aware of the problem. While the EV is definitely going into production, the model might be wearing a different moniker when it hits showrooms. "We're still in the decision phase. It could go either way," Batey said to the Free Press. He indicated the automaker still has about a year before a final decision is necessary. The Bolt will be built at GM's Orion Assembly plant in Michigan and will likely go on sale around 2017. That will put the Chevy on the market at roughly the same time as the 200-mile Tesla Model 3. Batey didn't seem too concerned, though. "Unlike Tesla, we can spread the cost over a whole lineup," he said to the Free Press. The future doesn't look quite so bright for the Spark EV, though. Batey suggested that it might not last once the longer-range Bolt fills that niche in the lineup. Related Video:

Ringbrothers drops more hints about its wild SEMA creations

Thu, Oct 17 2019

Ringbrothers isn't finished teasing its SEMA creations. First we got a sliver of rear quarter on a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that revealed a bundle of carbon fiber and SEMA-obligatory deep-dish wheels. The Wisconsin tuner's now announced its litter of cars headed to the show and a few specs, along with two shadowy drawings. The Camaro, christened with the name Valkyrja and a two-tone paint job, gets stretched in two directions with severe fender flares to widen the body and an extended wheelbase. We're not sure what's happening with the Camaro's snout in the drawing, but under that bulging hood we'll find a 416-cubic-inch LS V8 from Wegner Motorsports. Wegner built the 416-cu-in supercharged LS3 V8 that powered Ringbrothers' 1,000-hp G-Code Camaro in 2016.  The second member of the gang is a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 dubbed Unkl. The exterior begs for attention with a deep blue sea paint job, deep front chin spoiler, bulging hood, yellow brake calipers, and what looks like a racing number inside a roundel on the doors. Unkl gets its motivation from a 520-cu-in Boss V8 built by Kaase Racing Engines, rumored to throw about 800 hp.    Finally, Ringbrothers is bringing its Cadillac Madam V for another Las Vegas go-round after giving the custom coupe some updates. The Madam V is a 1948 Cadillac Series 62 fastback coupe body placed atop an ATS-V chassis, first shown in 2016. The firm didn't elaborate on the changes, so all we can expect for now are the coupe's postwar good looks mixed with new-millennium engineering, and a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 464 hp under that exceptionally long hood.    For any in attendance at the show, the Valkyrja Camaro debuts at the BASF booth on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., the Unkl Mustang gets revealed a couple hours later at the Flowmaster/Holley booth, and the Madam V Cadillac will be on display throughout the show at the Ringbrothers booth.

Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set

Tue, Jul 19 2022

Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, hence  the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950s and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with the American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.
